We haven't seen any awesome dings around our dates. That's ok as I'm pretty well set now. I even book a rental car for parts of our stay. The rates aren't great and I hope to see better before then, but at least something is in place for now.

Aww, I ADORE seagulls! I have no idea why, but I absolutely love them. Kyle made fun of me for sure, but on my list of pros and cons about each of the places we interviewed for residency, Cincinnati actually had "no seagulls".... somehow, it was the only place! :rotfl:

I hope your computer problems get resolved quickly! How frustrating! :wizard:

You really need to come visit me here in Utah! The seagull is our state bird. In fact, seagulls have the right of way here. Seriously. That's a law still on the books!

Back when Utah was being settled, there was an infestation of crickets that threatened to destroy the crops that had been planted. The farmers tried to get rid of the crickets, but nothing worked. As a community, they prayed for help, and a flock of seagulls landed on the field, and began to eat the crickets. They ate, and ate, and then flew to the Great Salt Lake where they threw up the crickets. Then, they flew back to the fields and continued eating the crickets. And that's how they became our state bird.

Evening all.
So how was Monday??
Not a bad day.
Still hot & dry.
My flowers are not doing so well.
Still hanging in there.
I so wish I could water them more then 2x's a week.
I just can't afford the fine.
Back to normal today.
Dinner, laundry, dishes.
Finished the trellis.

Is there anyway you could you collect your washing machine water when it is in the rinse cycle?? :confused3 I know when I was growing up and we were in a drought my parents would collect the wash rinse water into a big trash can and use it to water flowers. For their washing machine set up, it was quite easy as the machine water dumped into a sink anyways, so it was just moving that pipe. They would scoop it out with a bucket and fill the watering can.

The water doesn't have much soap in it and the plants survived. Since you already need the water to wash the clothes I don't know they could fine you.

Or what about saving the water in the bathtub if you have one when you get a shower and scooping it out with a bucket and using it to water the flowers. I know they are not the easiest things to do, but they are just a thought.

I decided to take a mental health day from work tomorrow. I already called my boss and told him I wouldn't be in. I need to finish the yardwork, do laundry so I'll be ready to head out of town on Friday, and clean the garage. With this nice weather we are having the spring cleaning bug has hit me, and I better take advantage of it while I can. I also need to go through drawer and closets and throw things out. I would love to be able to put away the kids' winter clothes, but who knows when they will be done wearing them. It seems to be shorts one day, long pants the next.

Hi Deb & Theresa & Becky & Glynis.

Ohhh Janet might become a home owner.

I can tell you this much, its nice being able to do what you want instead of having to go through the landlord first.

John's favorite motto, if I want to hang a picture with 10" penny nails then by damn I can cause its my house.

That's what Alan says, too! He was so thrilled when we bought our first house! He had a great time banging away at the walls.

And is that how the Great Salt Lake came to be???

Hi Deb & Theresa & Becky & Glynis.

You should always capitalize on the cleaning bug. I know how hard it is to get motivated ;) You're leaving this week. I am so jealous. I just spend my free time trying to find more things to do for our trip that is still 4 months away. :rotfl:

I'm not leaving for Disney, just to go to my parents for Easter weekend. We will leave Friday and come back on Monday.

No, thanks for asking though. :)

I was just thinking though, that with my party coming up I would like to try and be a little more talkative and out going. Of course I have been like this for so long that my family is use to it. Of course my mom used to ask me all the time if I was OK, because I just wouldn't talk. Guess I just don't have very much to say, plus I have noticed the past 3 years that I have started to stutter, but that mostly happens when I am really tired.

Heidi - I think that most of us are shy in new situations. It's tough to put yourself out when you're not sure how people will react. At this point, I would say, don't sweat about it. Perhaps at your party, you could make a point to talk to someone you don't normally talk to, but don't stress about it.

About the stuttering, again, don't stress about it. That will only make it worse. I worked as a speech therapist for several years, and found that the kids that stuttered the worst, had parents that really harped on them about it. Once we could get them to take deep breaths to calm down, and really focus on talking slowly, the stuttering seemed to subside. It's really not a big deal!

I have a hard time picturing you as an introvert, because in my mind you are as outgoing and funny as your posts are! Just remember that we love you for who you are, not whether you're an extrovert or an introvert!!!

Ok.....I can't stop when I am this close to a major personal milestone.....

10,000 POSTS FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!
:cheer2: :dance3: :cheer2:

See that's the thing, even around people I know I am very shy.

As I talk with you all about this I am quite worried that you will think I'm weird and stop associating with me.

Not gonna happen, sister!

I forgot to tell all of you this from this weekend.

I had to get the Disney box out of the closet to get the fanny pack for the zoo. The girls were going through it like it was Christmas. :rotfl: OHHHH!! I don't remember this, I don't remember this, when did we get this?? They had so much fun....lots of stuff we don't need now since we are flying....have to decide what I am doing with it. :confused3

I'm in Lansing. Ride was uneventful. Hope everyone had a great day.

I guess I'm off to bed. I keep bouncing from one car rental site to the next hoping to stumble on some amazing deal that isn't out there. I was suprised to call National today as the site wasn't working properly. The had a better minivan rate over the phone than online, but a better full sized SUV rate online that they could see over the phone? I guess it pays to call them too. Just another thing to do :lmao:

So is $313.92 a good rate for a full sized SUV for 7 days a good rate? It's the best I've found so far and we can pick up and drop off at the dolphin which is convenient. A mini van was $380.92 for the same dates. We need something big enough for 5 people and luggage/strollers.

But she wants a shirt to get out there and to get back too.:thumbsup2 Too cute, let us know what type of shirt design she is getting.

I guess technically we will be in the neighborhood of DL for 4.5 days. We'll probably hit DTD one evening and maybe catch the fountains at DL hotel so she'll need one for that too. ;) I'm just sad that Fantasmic is closed while they are doing the Pirate conversion to Tom Sawyer Island, plus the Electric Parade is on hiatus. :sad1: And no Mr Toad or Splash. :( Oh, but she will be able to ride Soarin' this time! I almost forgot. :woohoo: She's been dying to do that one too. I'll definitely keep you posted on the design chosen. Guess I'd better start hitting her up for ideas so I know what I'm looking for.

ETA: I guess the parade isn't on hiatus, just on weekend status as are the fireworks. :sad1: Unfortunately my pass is blacked out those days. At least we can see the fireworks from Michelle's or may that's when we'll walk to DTD and can watch from outside the park.
