Stephanie - I'm so happy things are turning around for you!

Elin - thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends today. :grouphug:

We're almost in single digits Tammi!!!!:dance3:  Elin.

Chanon, I still like the first cake...:goodvibes

Stephanie and Tammi have a wonderful time. Stephanie please try and bring back some warm weather.
Warmth would be good!!

I will be calling the bakery today to order a cake for CRT on Alyssa's bday. Any suggestions?
There are the little castle cakes I think are adorable. There is a thread on the resturants boards with a ton of cakes. I think it was started by Zurgswife.:goodvibes

Steffy~ Hang in there.
Thanks Robyn.:goodvibes

Well it looks like most of the DDA likes the 1st cake.
Yes, we do!!:woohoo:

I have to go back to work today. Lets just say I am less than thrilled.

Sending prayers, to all of you.
Hi Becky!!:dance3:

Well I need the power of DDA prayer.....that stuff way back when (about October) about my student loans....may make it hard for us to get approved for the home loan. The loan status is now static.
:wizard: Theresa :wizard:

Anyway, here is sort of what I am picturing in my head. Is it totally crazy?

snowwhitewall.jpg
I loive it!!!

I got the email from Pine Cone today. I've been accepted. Thanks again, Janet!
Ohh, ohh, could I join? I like surveys...:thumbsup2

Getting a sense of a problem??????

I did learn a few things about flying.
All this and not even one Pal Mickey in the cockpit picture! :flower3: :lmao: :rotfl:

just kidding.....so glad you're home....:hippie:

We went Prom dress shopping. The biggest problem???? So late being asked there was hardly anything that was big enough to hold Cassidy and her girls...plus the dresses were picked over.

We did find a dress...so cute....can't find a pic online I will keep looking. not too fancy because well it's not like it's her senior prom. :rolleyes1 It's pink with a black overlay.
Theresa, the dress sounds so cute...

To Elizabeth, Vicki, Janet, Bernadette, Deb, Anne Marie, Beth, Ellen, Tia, Jennifer, Jennifer, Jen, Kristine, Heidi, Karen, Tom and Chris...:yay: :yay: :yay:

And to all I missed, and I know I'm missing someone, :yay: :yay:

11 DAYS PEOPLE

Good morning, DDA!!

Have you ever meet and EVIL person? Someone you just knew deep down that something was not right.

I don't think so. I have known some incredibly SELFISH people who were only interested in getting what they wanted and didn't care who they stepped on to get it. They were not intrinsically evil people, just not people I would want to be around! I know a kid who might grow up and be a serial killer, but we'll have to wait & see.

It sounds cute! I'm glad that you found one so quickly and hopefully on budget!

Good mornig, DDA.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words and thoughts and prayers. All of Kristin's immediate friends have been accounted for at Tech. My best friend from college (the one whose Mom died a few weeks ago) has a nephew in the cadet corps there and I have not heard anything back from her. And I have a favorite former student who just visited me over spring break who is an engineering student. Norris Hall is an engineering building. I have not had a response from Chris to the email I sent on Monday evening. I know there could be many reasons why but it still is causing me concern and worry as it will be a few days before the list of victims is put out.

I hope that you hear from Chris and your friend soon. I didn't realize that one of my 2nd cousins goes to Tech, but we got an email yesterday morning that he was safe. Sadly, he is in the German program and I know that at least one of the professor's killed was from that program. It looks like some of the deaths may touch him pretty closely.

We're almost in single digits Tammi!!!!:dance3:
I can't wait! The sun is finally shining and it's giving me spring fever. Plus, knowing that I leave for vacation in 10 days is not helping matters!

Wow, Deb! What an amazing increase in meals! Was it just a weird scenario, or was there a reason so many more people were eating out? Regardless, glad you made it through, and I hope tomorrow finds you rested and feeling better!

We had some large last minute business groups, a lot of towns around here are still without power so they can't cook and the power crews are coming in on the company dime for good hot meals. So it was a bunch of stuff we weren't prepared for. Some towns will be without power until the weekend due to the Nor 'easter that brought heavy snow, rain and high winds. It could be busy all week. Tonight we have 5 scheduled and I can jump in from hostess if it gets crazy like last night which will give us 2 more people which will make all the difference in the world.

Nick got up early this morning and offered to watch Colby so that I could sleep in :cloud9:  I certainly enjoyed that extra hour of sleep and Colby was so happy to have his big brother all to himself.

I'm caught up again :goodvibes The boys and I are going grocery shopping this morning. That should be delightful  I'll check back later.

Deb

That was the best part...the dress was $40.....now the accessories we still have to get are going to kill me I think!!:rotfl:

ahhhhhhh....how sweet!!

Have I met a truly evil person???

Yup and I've also met a lot of kids who were troubled and mean because of their circumstances.

I got the email from Pine Cone today. I've been accepted. Thanks again, Janet!

Me too!!!

I just do not feel like doing anything today! I really hate when I feel like this.

I have everything pulled out of the closet under our stairs & now I have a big mess in the dining room. I would love to just throw it all out, instead of going through it :rotfl: Alot of it I am going to take to Goodwill. I have 3 large box's of new stuffed animals that I used for my crafts that I no longer do. Garrett has decided that he wants to keep the turtles & frogs  So the rest will go to Goodwill as well. When I think of all the money I spent on some of this stuff, it makes my head spin.

My sil was in a car accident today & was taken to the hospital. I am still waiting to hear how she is. All I know is another car pulled out in front of her & basically totaled her Tracker. Hopefully I hear something soon!

Well dh is home, guess I better get my booty in gear & get this messed cleaned up :sad2:

Glad to hear your SIL is ok.

So I got together a bunch more paper this afternoon and the loan is once again in the underwriter's hands.

I've been praying for God's Will in this..the whole time. I am now praying for the underwriter to see what what he needs to see so we can have the house. Feeling pretty selfish praying for it but as I told Jim last night we will be moving the first weekend in May one way or the other!!

Fingers crossed for you!! :wizard:

Evening all.
Hope everyone had a great weekend & Monday.
Busy on-call this weekend.
Borrowed Million Dollar Baby from a co-worker. popcorn:: :sad1:
Watch it Monday night.
So I have been M.I.A for a few days.

Anything exciting happen the last few days? :confused3

Hi Jo!!

Congrats on finishing the class and getting the info across to your young hoodlums!:thumbsup2

I am glad she is OK!:)

A little brag: DS got his 5th marking period report card today. He got one "B" and all the rest "A"s!!! We think this is probably the best report card he has EVER gotten! Of course the B is in math, but it is an 85.:)

So I was on the phone with one of my friends, and another friend called on my cell. I let it go to voice mail and called her back. She met a nanny at Gymboree who is quitting her job in about 6 weeks, and she is trying to help the family find a new nanny. SO my friend gave the nanny my name and number to give to her boss. The mom called me on my way home and she seems delightful! She has a roly-poly baby. She would like to have another baby next year. She does not think it is HORRIBLE that I have DS! She lives more north than I would like, but with everything else being so positive I might be willing to stretch a little on the drive. She needs someone mid-June at the latest, but there again, it is worth meeting them. The mom just sounds SO nice! I e-mailed her my resume, and she is going to talk to her husband and figure out when it would be convenient for us to have an interview. And so it begins.

:cheer2: for DS :cheer2:

I hope that this oppurtunity turns out to be exactly what you need. I'm sure the logistics can be figured out.

Hi all! I feel like I've been playing catch up that last couple of days and may continue for a few more. I was feeling better today until I decided that I felt good enough to rake sweet gum balls in the yard. That and an oh-so-fun argument with my DH and I was worn out again. Some medicines have me feeling a little better again so hopefully that will continue.

Of course, I have 3 kids 24 hours a day for the next 5-6 days so that could be tiring in itself. Chris' mom is giving Kristi and Chris her car so they are flying out to CA in the morning to introduce them all to Chase and then drive the car back. They should be back Sunday evening, but it could be Monday depending on how good of a passenger Chase is.

Tonight was fun though because I got to learn up to use a handheld GPS to go geocaching. I've always wanted to do it and now am going along as a chaperone on Rachel's geocaching field trip on Thursday. Tonight the parents going met with the gym teachers to learn how to use the systems and the basics of the field trip. It should be a lot of fun. Of course, I'll probably leave wanting a GPS system for my birthday, but at least that would be something fun that I could ask for.

Have fun with the kids! Hope you feel better.

Well i think im going to head to bed..its only Tuesdya night and im already really looking forward to the weekend!

On the bright side , tomorrow is day number 60 of student teaching!its SO close (13 more teaching days!) and yet i feel like ill never be done! this weekend im going to try to figure out how to print my postcards for the trip, but so far, i cant get them right!

have a great night everyone

You're almost there.

Hello DDA.
I finally got home tonight. I was supposed to come home yesterday. I got to the airport yesterday and was checking in and the guy said there were "ground issues" in Charlotte, NC. I just looked at him with a question on my face and he admitted that they screwed up. He said he could put me on a flight early this morning but I would have a stop in Charlotte, Phila and then on to Harrisburg. Well, that did not make me happy. He finally did some checking and put me on a non-stop to Harrisburg but it would not leave until this evening at 5:54pm. He then told me I could go over to Delta to get my seat. Well, I tried but they told me that I could do that on line.

Getting a sense of a problem??????

I spent over an hour trying to get a seat, talking to customer service and even the tech support. At one point, I told the guy I wanted to speak to his supervisor. Well that took over 25 minutes and when he came back on to tell me he was still trying to reach a supervisor, I went sorta ballistic. I hate that they have all of the calls go overseas and you cannot understand anything they say. All I wanted to do was get a seat and verify that I was not stand-by.
This afternoon I had my sister take me to the Marta and made her go home. I told her I would just keep in touch.
I went to the Check-in desk at Delta and asked for a seat verification. The lady told me that I had to go to the check in desk to get a seat. I looked at her point blank and asked if I had a seat and she said yes and then I asked her if I was stand-by and she said no. I asked her again and she said no.
I finally got to the gate and checked in and the guy told me I was on stand-by. I should have made the US Air guy get me a seat but I was just so happy to get a non-stop flight, I did not think about a seat.
They said they would ask for voulnteers to give up their seats. I had to wait to see what would happen. I called Stephanie and my sister and by then I was really stressing out and crying. It looked like I might have to wait until tomorrow to get out. I kept thinking I was gonna go crazy and not get any of my work done this week. Usually by Wednesday, I am checking the print-out to verify the attendance and am on time with my work. I could just imagine not finishing and going crazy.
Well, needless to say, I got on the plane. :goodvibes
I am so happy to be home.
I really had a good time but all of this trouble has been such a drain.
I will be writing a long letter to US Air and even Delta.
I did learn a few things about flying.

I'm glad your home safe and sound. What a horrible day.

Elizabeth - I am so glad that you have a prospective job interview! It sounds like something you would enjoy, once you got all the details hammered out! Good luck with all of it!

I'm so tired tonight. I got 20 shirts washed, ironed, transfers put on and packed away for the trip! I'm almost halfway there! Of course, I'm out of paper, now, and have to wait for my next order to arrive.

So, I'm heading off to bed to read a couple of chapters, and then get some sleep. I won't be around much the next few days as our Spring Break is just starting. Yikes!

Have fun while the kids are off.

Terry I'm so sorry that you had such travel issues. It's good to have you home safely.

Now I remember why I didn't want to waitress...I got my butt kicked tonight. Actually all 4 waitresses did. We did 160 meals tonight with only 4 waitstaff. We usually have 6 on Tuesday night. I did 38 meals myself, which is my new personal best, but I can say that no one got great service. How could they when we were spread so thin? I must admit the money wasn't bad, but if I could have given better service the money would have been even better  Of course I'm still fighting this chest cold and barely have a voice. I just hope that I can sleep tonight because I really want to sleep

Wow, what a busy night!!

Hi all!!

Elizabeth-congrats on the great report card and prospective roly poly!!

Tia- I hear ya on the raking and fighting.Hope the rest of the week smooths out.

We went Prom dress shopping. :scared1: The biggest problem???? So late being asked there was hardly anything that was big enough to hold Cassidy and her girls...plus the dresses were picked over.

Good morning, DDA.

I think I have read everyone's posts and am all caught up. I know I will forget someone, and for that I am sorry.

Tia and Deb - I hope you both feel better and have don't have to work so hard!

Theresa - lots of PD headed your way. And Cassidy must be so excited.

Robyn - loved the BDay pictures. The girls are getting so big!

Becky and Jen - the school year is almost over, the school year is almost over, the school year is almost over...

Lindsay - good luck on the final tweaking for your trip this week!

Chanon - I loved all your pictures and I liked the white cake best.

Terry - imagine if US Air had been allowed to purchase Delta! What a nightmare you had. So sorry.

Elizabeth - good news on the prospective new nanny position. I hope it works out for you and you can feel more stability soon.

Glynis - I can't belive you got those shirts done! I made your pot roats for Bob last weekend and he loved it. I also sneaked a taste and loved it too. Thanks!

Tammi and Stephanie - it is almost time for Disney World!

Tammi - I hope your meeting went well on Monday and I am also hoping to get those two hoppers and some $ to you later this week or Saturday. Thanks for doing those two things for me while you are on vacation.

Elin, I hope you are able to get some info regarding Chris. You are both in my prayers.

Have you ever meet and EVIL person? Someone you just knew deep down that something was not right.

Can't say that I have yet.

We had some large last minute business groups, a lot of towns around here are still without power so they can't cook and the power crews are coming in on the company dime for good hot meals. Nick got up early this morning and offered to watch Colby so that I could sleep in :cloud9:  I certainly enjoyed that extra hour of sleep and Colby was so happy to have his big brother all to himself.

What a great big brother!!

I ordered Alyssa's bday cake. I've decided against having something at CRT, since we will be so full from our meal and what doesn't get eaten will just get thrown out. So I called Olivia's at OKW and ordered an 8" vanilla cake with white chocolate filling and white chocolate frosting. They will deliver it to the room after 4PM with candles and a balloon. So in the evening when we get back it will be waiting for us. Plus we will be able to save the leftovers to snack on the rest of the week.

I'm so excited!!!!!

We used to live in Carrollton (Marsh at Rosemeade) and I worked at Town East Mall. That was 25 miles and it was RETAIL, for crying out loud! I can't believe I used to do that! DH drives 19 miles to the distribution center every day, so my commute would still be shorter than his! But going straight up Hillcrest or Coit would take close to 30 minutes, so going back and forth would really have to be kept to a minimum!

I think it is about 5 miles from here to work now. When we lived in Carrollton it was about 10 miles to my old nanny job, but there were like 24 stop lights so it took a good half hour even if there wasn't much traffic. I can't remember how far it is from here to the loft where my bosses lived before they bought their house. Not too far. I would have to get used to driving up there every day, but it might not be too bad.

Congrats to DS on the awesome report card! I'm keeping my fingers crossed on your newest prospect for a job. If the job was great, you wouldn't mind the commute as much. Be sure and talk to the school. Most of them let you can drop kids off early because they know there are lots of working parents.

Terry I'm so sorry that you had such travel issues. It's good to have you home safely.

Deb -- hang in there! More money for Disney, and I bet you did great! We are always harder on ourselves.

Yeah for Nick! I hope your day goes well!

Terry -- sorry for your airline problems! I hope the rest of your week is great.

I'm hoping that it rained enough to cancel Jake's baseball practice for tonight. I really need to do some work on Mom's closet tonight. It would be nice to not have that hanging over me anymore, and other than having to take Andrew to Awana's it should be a quiet evening. Why oh why did I say that? I probably just jinxed myself...

Have a great Wednesday everyone!
