It's quiet here today....

...so forgive me for talking cake again! :rotfl:
I think I have the color situation figured out - I'm going to see if she can add Luster Dust (edible glitter!) to the leaves to give them a hint of color. And we decided on a cake topper! Color wise, it'll go well with the cake.
MickeyandMinnieCar.jpg

...now just to figure out how to put it on the cake...at the top? Under the top layer with pillars (which I hate those white pillars so she'd have to be really creative with that one)? Or should we just put it next to the cake? Does it really matter this early? Nope! But it gives me something else to obsess about! HA!

Love the topper!! If I can obsess about a trip that is potentially 1500 days away, then you can obsess about a wedding just a little over a year away. That's want wedding plans are best for...fun obsessions! As for the location, I think that maybe on top would be fine. Perhaps, the leaves on the top could start out smaller and then get larger as they descend down the cake. That way they wouldn't over power the car on top and could flow smoothly from the car/small leaves to the larger ones down the side.

That makes sense! I like that!

Can I just say...thank goodness for library movies! Conner is happily asleep and Terra and Kassie have barely uttered a word since they put their movies in over half an hour ago. It's the first chance I've have to relax all day since we left the house at 8:15 to drop Rachel at school (since she missed the bus again), Mom at work, Kassie at school. Then two grocery stops, home to put away the cold stuff, trip to the library, back to pick up Kassie and finally lunch at Pizza Hut. So, now I get to actually catch up here, plus order the book that poor Phil has been waiting for me to order for 3 days now. I just kept forgetting to sit down and look for something from my list so that we could get free shipping. If only I could take a nap too, things would be perfect. ;) Oh well, guess I'll just settle for some peace and quiet since someone apparently adjusted Terra and Connor's volume levels to high and forgot to give anyone access to the controls.

Hi Everybody,

Jen - I'm so sorry to hear about Champ, :grouphug:

Terry - Glad you finally made it home safely, I would definitely be writing a letter.

Chanon - I also like the cake with the leaves, and I love the topper. I browsed through the web site, cakes sure have changed since my mom and I used to make them.

Theresa - I have a closet full of Prom/Homecoming dress stories I could share. Get ready it's only starting, and just when you get done with Cassidy you will be starting over again with Abi. My youngest has the well endowed problem, we found that the gowns that were two piece worked best.

I've got to pull out my designing hat and make some designs for our trip with DGS, I'm looking for the O'hana sign to use as a background for one so if anyone has it I would greatly appreciate it.

I also realized that we will be in the Magic Kingdom on 9/04/07, the anniversary of June's passing. I'd like to leave something from the DDA at her bench, so I'm open for suggestions.

A little brag: DS got his 5th marking period report card today. He got one "B" and all the rest "A"s!!! We think this is probably the best report card he has EVER gotten! Of course the B is in math, but it is an 85.:)

So I was on the phone with one of my friends, and another friend called on my cell. I let it go to voice mail and called her back. She met a nanny at Gymboree who is quitting her job in about 6 weeks, and she is trying to help the family find a new nanny. SO my friend gave the nanny my name and number to give to her boss. The mom called me on my way home and she seems delightful! She has a roly-poly baby. She would like to have another baby next year. She does not think it is HORRIBLE that I have DS! She lives more north than I would like, but with everything else being so positive I might be willing to stretch a little on the drive. She needs someone mid-June at the latest, but there again, it is worth meeting them. The mom just sounds SO nice! I e-mailed her my resume, and she is going to talk to her husband and figure out when it would be convenient for us to have an interview. And so it begins.
Congrats to DS!

Good luck with roly-poly baby. You would have loved Emma. She was a roly-poly and smiley as they come.

Here's the one that I am subscribed to. I don't think there has been any activity on it in a while.

Beth
I was thinking Lizzy would like that but now I'm thinking I should do it as a birthday gift for me. Then I can wear my pearl and think Disney and none of my coworkers who think (ok maybe know) I'm crazy will be any the wiser....

All of the Cake Loft cakes were beautiful!! Did anyone notice the Minnie side cake (half-showing) on cake #63 with Cinderella's castle?
Yup!

Hi all! I feel like I've been playing catch up that last couple of days and may continue for a few more. I was feeling better today until I decided that I felt good enough to rake sweet gum balls in the yard. That and an oh-so-fun argument with my DH and I was worn out again. Some medicines have me feeling a little better again so hopefully that will continue.
Hope you feel better soon!

Hello DDA.
I finally got home tonight.
Welcome home. Sorry you had to go through all that!

I'm so tired tonight. I got 20 shirts washed, ironed, transfers put on and packed away for the trip! I'm almost halfway there! Of course, I'm out of paper, now, and have to wait for my next order to arrive.
WOW! That's great! I still need to start mine! I did wash them and figured out how to print in mirror image on my Mac but I still need to size the images-they are OK for the adult shirt but too big for the girls and I need to iron them and figure out how to do it all without the kids noticing as I'm suppose to be going on a "business trip" with a possible side trip to WDW.:confused3 ;)

Of course I'm still fighting this chest cold and barely have a voice. I just hope that I can sleep tonight because I really want to sleep
Hope you feel better soon.

We did find a dress...so cute....can't find a pic online I will keep looking. not too fancy because well it's not like it's her senior prom. :rolleyes1 It's pink with a black overlay.
Sounds cute!

Goodnight all! I've been looking at rental car scenarios all night for our trip (I've had a reservation for a while, but trying to see if I can beat it with last minute deals), and I think my eyes are glazing over at this point.

Good morning to all our early-risers! :flower3:
WOW!!! Look at your countdown!

Nick got up early this morning and offered to watch Colby so that I could sleep in :cloud9:  I certainly enjoyed that extra hour of sleep and Colby was so happy to have his big brother all to himself.
What a great big brother! And son!!!

I ordered Alyssa's bday cake. I've decided against having something at CRT, since we will be so full from our meal and what doesn't get eaten will just get thrown out. So I called Olivia's at OKW and ordered an 8" vanilla cake with white chocolate filling and white chocolate frosting. They will deliver it to the room after 4PM with candles and a balloon. So in the evening when we get back it will be waiting for us. Plus we will be able to save the leftovers to snack on the rest of the week.

I'm so excited!!!!!
Sounds perfect!

The box arrived today and the bottom was torn open  :headache:
I opened it up and thankfully everything is there but the sword to the Pal Mickey's pirate outfit
I have the paperwork at home, so tomorrow I will be making a call about that!!!
I guess Stephanie will be picking me up another Pirate Costume.

I just want to go home and curl up into a ball.
:grouphug:

So Cassidy took a picture of the dress to school....all of her FRESHMAN friends say it's too homecomingy (Cassidy's words not mine!).

BLECH!!!
 What does that mean? What do they know? Could they be jealous ?

I got the closet finished yesterday & took most of the stuff to Goodwill.
Congrats! That's quite an accomplishment!

I have to meet with the caterers for Daniel's communion within the week. Can't believe its almost here. Its a buffet & I still have to pick 5 dishes & I can't decide!!!! I have to go get the menu & really look at it again. I have to print out the table cards on the computer. Also have to order the balloon centerpeices this week..ah & yes the favors..I am making custom herhsey bars with his name & communion date on them...so I have to get that done as well. So much to do!!!! Oh & I need to find something to wear!!!!!!!:scared: I know it will all come together but I am stressing!
You'll get it all done. You always do!:grouphug:

Have you tried looking on the dining board? There a thread of restaurant photos (not the one of food photos).

When I went in December I left a silk purple rose on Goofy. I've already purchase a new one for my May trip.

I know that it's not Disney but I am going to go for a girls weekend with my BESTEST friend that I haven't seen in a very long time.

We are open for suggestions for the first weekend in June. This is something we both need...just us time!!

What a nice thought, Debbie.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't know....it's the second best news I could have gotten today. Haven't heard from the underwriter...that would have to take first.

I was thinking Las Vegas....but it doesn't matter because I doubt we will move more than 10 feet from wherever we go.....we have a LOT of face time to catch up on!!

Does anyone know what the cream or ointment or whatever it is that everyone on the TPAS board talks about for sore feet is called?

I have access to one...why???

I was looking at an issue in Pizza Hut today (odd place I know, but they had it sitting there) and there were some Earth Day cupcakes that were really cute. I figured that I could find them online, but I can't seem too. I remember that the recipe was on 86 and the picture of the cupcakes was earlier in the magazine (30s probably). Can you see what the name of the recipe is so I can try searching again? I want to make them for Earth Day, but don't remember enough of what they look like to duplicate it from my head.
