Guess what?!

I've got a date!!! Well, not a date date, but a coffee date, Monday morning while the kids are at school. What does one wear on a coffee date?

Please, weather gods, do not send the storm that they are forecasting. My kids NEED to go to school on Monday!!!!

:wizard: You'll look terrific no matter what you are wearing!

We just opened up PM Andy. You have not idea how HARD it was for me not to let the proverbial cat out of the bag!!!!!

I was actually thinking about that earlier when you said he came. I wondered if you would be able to control yourself, I don't think I would.

I'm loving all the wedding pics. I'll have to look for some of mine to post, but I didn't keep pics of my first wedding. And my second one was very informal. I got married at 21 the first time, May 24th (or was it the 26th, I honestly don't remember now), 1984, and the second time at age 32, June 10th, 1995.

We'll need pictures of them together. And of the kids faces when they find out. I can't remember, did you say how you are going to tell them?
Our flight leaves at noon. I'll get them up at the usual time like they are getting ready for school, then say something like "since you only have a half day of school today, why do you stay home and we'll do something fun. How would you like to go to WDW???!!!!"

They were really having fun with Pal Mickey tonight, and all the goodies that came in the box. Alyssa really liked him, she kept squeezing him and playing with him. Then when he told her 'thanks for being my pal' she cracked up with laughter and got so excited. She said "is this the real Mickey in here?"! Before she left to go to her dad's she had to put him to bed and cover him with his little blanket that came in the box. She wanted to take him with her, but I wouldn't let her. :guilty:

OK, so here are my wedding pics, for what they are worth. I didn't save any of the professional pics from my first wedding, but here is a favorite snapshot I saved of me and my sister from 1984 when I was 21.

For my second wedding we got married in our backyard, and my sister took some pictures, but no real photographer. We had both been married before, and didn't want all the hype/expense for our wedding. The picture isn't the greatest , but it's all I've got.

I can hardly wait!

Love your pictures Ellen! Dh has been on the other computer listing items on Ebay. I asked him to scan some pics for me, but as you can see I do not have any yet.

Beautiful Elin!

Gorgeous, Elin! Those styles bring back warm and happy memories.

I looked at my parents' wedding photos all the time growing up. I honestly thought for the longest time that wedding photos were always shot in black and white, not thinking of the fact that they were married in 1962. I think I'm going to convert a couple of ours to black and white.

Elin, You are gorgeous!

Beautiful!! My mom wore nearly an identical hat at that time.

Ladies - you were all BEAUTIFUL brides!

Elin - love those lace-up shoes!

Janet - Can I read it, please?

All these wedding pictures are absolutely wonderful and make me :sad1: that I only have the one photo of ours.

Thanks, everyone!

Theresa, those are the only B&W pictures we have from the photographer. There is also one oil of Bob and me similar to the one I posted. The photographer was a dear friend of the family and the work was a wedding gift. The only caveat he placed on the gift was that he would do the formal shots and all the candid shots would be done by our friends so he could enjoy our wedding. Waaaaaaaaaaaay back in 1973 he suggested that our friends all bring their cameras and take pictures so that we would get the best shots of everyone. So we asked all 250 guests to do so and we got photos from probably 50 people. It was very interesting to see what each of them thought was important to click on. I will look for a couple of the albums later on this weekend and see if I can find some color photos. If you all think the styles are 60s/70s... wait till you see the colors! :rotfl:

And, for the record, Tammi... the shoes are not lace-up! They are peau de soie sandals that both my kids say they would still wear today! I found them in the dye-to-match section of a bridal shop in Erie, PA. They were already the right color for my dress. ;) The hat was special ordered from a shop in Johnstown, PA and all the gowns were handmade by a seamstress in our town. My roommate (the one on the far right) and my best friend from college (the one on the far left) and I all lost so much weight after we graduated from college that May that our dresses all had to be remade in time for the wedding. Talk about pressure! The maid of honor is my sister and the other bridesmaid is one of Bob's cousins. One of the groomsmen is my brother, one is Bob's best friend and the other two are his brothers. Anyone want to guess who is who?

I figured out why we have such good looking kids here on the DDA. We had gorgeous brides! I love all the photos. Keep 'em coming!

Ooooh! A date! With whom? We want to know about him NOW. Then we will evaluate the date on Monday evening!

I hope he scans pics faster than he hangs curtains!:rotfl2:

I was barely 22 years old, but fortunately, we're still going strong! :thumbsup2

I had just turned 22 two weeks before our wedding too, Lindsay. And, although there are stops and starts, we are still going strong too. 34 years this July!

The new car is fun. It is all "keyless", so you don't actually use the key to do ANYTHING. The remote can stay in my purse the whole time! There is a push button on the exterior door handle that you just push and the door unlocks (but you have to be near it with the remote). Once you are IN the car you push a button to start the engine. My purse was in the back seat when we went to dinner and the car started just fine. Kind of trippy. If I am outside of the car and the key is inside the car will not lock, so it is impossible to lock the keys inside.

The payments are only $25 higher than the lease payments, and since it was a lease it wasn't like it was going to be paid off at the end. We have 4 more years to pay on DH's car, and when it is paid off DS will start driving shortly thereafter.:scared1: So we'll probably give him the Civic and buy a new car for DH.

DH's W-2 arrived today! That means we can mail our taxes in tomorrow!

And, for the record, Tammi... the shoes are not lace-up!
Sorry, Elin. :guilty: My mistake. ;)

I was thinking that it would look really cute if you put your wedding pic in your siggy along with your 'now' pic. :teeth:

My Mom weighed somewhere between 120-130 pounds when she got married. She has always told me since I am very young I would never fit in her dress, as we are built differently. But I would love to prove her wrong and be able to fit in it and zip it, although I wouldn't actually wear it for my wedding. It will most likely not happen as I probably will never again weigh that little and as she has pointed out I am built differently, but I can dream.

I   looking at all of your pictures and dreaming. You are all such beautiful brides and have handsome grooms. Someday my prince will come.:thumbsup2

::yes:: he will!

Well ladies, as it seems the men have gone off else where. :confused3

J/K, I know they are busy with work and real life.

Since we have been talking about weddings and proposals, when did you get married?

May 3, 1986 (yes I got married on my birthday).

June 5, 1982
