I really need some help DDA..

My DS told me that the only thing the baby will be able to do is go to Playhouse Disney. My DGS will be 16 months during the trip. My older grandson was 13 months old during his first trip to Disney. He had a ball. He was very socialized though. He was in daycare at 3 months old. I remember that Playhouse Disney was the highlight, but I know there were other things he could do.

I swear, I am having a brain freeze!!

Add to this... my son's son has never been without his daddy. Ever. Not so they could go to a movie. Not so they could go to dinner. He is a SAHD and doesn't do playdates. I don't think my DGS has ever seen any other children except his cousins.:scared1: :scared1: O M G!!!! What am I going to do????

It is not like I will be able to watch baby K while his parents go on an attraction without him. My only hope will be if he is asleep in the stroller. And if he wakes up and they are not there... the Disney CMs will think I'm abducting him! I mean, he doesn't cry, he wails as if his heart is breaking... face all wet... and that is when I put him on my lap and his hand is still on my son's lap!! I must be nuts!!!

I went to visit them on Sunday. Baby K would not come near me, as usual. He would smile and my and wave at me from his dad's lap or shoulder, but if I even looked like I was going to pick him up WAAAAHHHHHHHHH.

So here is my problem. My son put his foot down. No fireworks for them. No commando marching through the parks! Baby K will be back to the villa by 7:30 so he can unwind, get his bath and be asleep by 8:00. Dinner will be 5:30 at the latest. No problem. He wants to spend a couple of days enjoying the villa, going to the pool and playground, sitting in the sand. He said he and his wife will go to Pleasure Island maybe 1 or 2 nights. (they can get the boat from OKW) then I can pop out and fluff the pillow for you. Otherwise.... no....

Help me. What have I done?????popcorn:: popcorn::

You can tell me mind is on the weather. We're in the single digits, too, but I'm not cheering about it. :rotfl:

Yay!!!!! I am so happy that you get to go so soon!!! I can't wait to hear all about the trip. The kids still don't know, right?

Good morning, DDA!

Try to stay warm and off those icy roads.

Good morning DDA!

Hope everyone has a safe, warm day.

We're having another ice day, but this time we do have a little snow. The boys are out of school, and I will probably just work from home. I have too many bridges/overpasses to go over -- around 40 -- to try to get in to Dallas.

Yep! It is pretty bad out there!

And if we needed further proof that DISD is run by IDIOTS, here it is! Dallas is the ONLY district open for hundreds of miles.:sad2: How STUPID are these people? There isn't a single public or private school open anywhere around, but Dallas public schools are OPEN! They are supposed to decide by 6 AM. At 6 AM they were open. AT 7 AM they announced they were closing (like everybody else) then by 7:30 they were OPEN again!:headache:

Dadboss's flight was cancelled, and there is NO WAY Momboss can make it anywhere, so I am still home this morning. DS is home too, because school should be CLOSED. Some fool fromt he district was just on the news saying kids who don't show up today will have unexcused absences unless they have a Dr's note. OK, well, too bad! There is ice on the roads covered by a layer of snow, and it is getting worse instead of better. The regular roads are just as bad as the bridges at this point, so I really think I should get to determine if my child goes out on the roads in these conditions. In fact, if Momboss calls and wants me to come in I think I will tell her I am taking a personal day!

No they don't know yet. It's killing me not to tell them and be able to talk about it, like what we are going to do/ride/see. I did end up telling my mother the other day. She kept asking questions about if I was looking at airfare and if anymore Dings came up. (she knew prior to that I was watching the airfare). So at least I can talk about it with her, although she doesn't quite "get it" either. :sad2:

I looked at the extended weather for Orlando. BBRRR...high on the 26th of 67. I'm sure it will change a few times before then, and that it gets a bit warmer!

Wow, you haven't done anything. Your son is making a huge mistake in raising his son. Kids need interaction with people other than Mom and Dad. That is part of the learning process. At some point baby K will have to go to school and Daddy won't be able to hold his hand all day. That poor child will not know what to do. My suggestion is to tell son that you "need" to watch grandbaby for a evening here and there while they go out. Sure the baby will cry when they leave, but each time it will get better and it will make it so much easier on Mom and Dad later. What ever would they do if there was some kind of emergency and they needed someone to watch the baby? I know that it will be much worse on the parents than the child as it is in there heads. Steffy, I feel for you, but if you can't get your son to change then that baby is going to have a tough road ahead. Remind son that you were left alone with him and he turned out fine :wizard: :wizard:

Marci - Good call to stay home today! You really wouldn't have been able to get to your office all the way over here. Momboss was supposed to be in court in Stephenville but that obviously didn't happen. Stay warm!

Jo. - Congrats on the new baby! I hope all goes well for your DSD.

Stephanie - I never understood that philosophy. I have had parents brag to me that they don't let their child leave the house.:scared1: They have a "nanny" who has to stay inside all day every day, or sometimes take the baby for a walk in the neighborhood. Not only is that bad for socialization, it is bad for the baby's immunity! He will be sick CONSTANTLY when they finally allow him to be around other kids. DS missed 17 days of school his first year in public school, even though he had been in private school for 5 years of preschool - grade 1. Severe separation anxiety in a child that age just isn't healthy, but I don't know what to advise. I hope your DS figures it out soon!

I guess I'll go and clean my bedroom and master bath. My new mattress comes on Friday and I want to make sure there are no dust kitties hiding in there :scared:

:rotfl2:

Jennifer, I loved the pictures too including the "snow angel" Olivia was trying to make. Although I don't wish any additional accumulation for my Texas friends I do hope Olivia gets enough snow to roll around in next time!

No extra snow last night. just some ice.

Olivia wants to go outside and make snowballs and throw them at each other. I think she got the idea from one of her JOJO shows.

Well my ISP at home is acting wonky!! I tried to get on for more than a minute at least five times last night:confused3 :headache: then when I finally got on...had a wonderful LONG response and *poof* it disappeared!!

Stephanie....I have no real advice for you other than be patient and do as someone else suggests...offer to watch K because it really sounds like mom & dad need some time alone. The only other thing I can offer is :grouphug:

Elin...I am now the envy of my house!!

Tammi...you are a very good secret keeper...I wouldn't have made it...just ask Jennifer. :rolleyes1

Hope everybody has a splendiferous day!!

Ya'LL are not going to believe this...we live in Louisiana...and our kids are out of school today because it is cold. No ice on the roads, no snow, just cold....how crazy is that?
