The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 2

Happy New Year Friends!

See what happens?! I get bronchitis over New Year's, am bedridden for no less than 10 days, can't lift my head off the pillow to get a drink of water much less be on the DDA, then I get swamped last week at work trying to catch up, and what happens -- y'all MOVE on me! Now I have almost 3100 posts on which to catch up! (I'll love every minute of reading!)

Happy to see everyone in bright and chipper spirits on our new thread. I'm going to be swamped with work for the next few weeks, so will pop on and off when I can. Just wanted to say hello and happy new year! And have a fantabulous time to anyone going to WDW in the next few weeks for birthdays or otherwise!

i am doing ok. thanks for asking. i had to go to the er thursday night because i started having red bleeding, but they said baby is ok. scary though.

EVERYONE PLEASE READ!!!​

I am not even sure how to say this without sounding like a brat but I need to ask you all a favor:

recently I have seen some of my designs in other people's design gallery or posted in a thread without credit given to me - I see that it has happened to other designers as well.

I hate to sound petty - and I certainly want everyone to feel free to use the designs and to modify as desired but I spend A LOT of time working on new designs and it gets very frustrating to see it in someone else's design gallery as their own design

I have had people ask me to modify designs of people who are not available to design and have done that but I try not to post those in my public design gallery - if I do -I have added a disclaimer on the design

so I just want to ask everyone that when you borrow a design that you give proper credit to the original designer

It's official. We put down our deposit this morning and are now DVC members. Thank all of you for your information, advice and well wishes. We are so excited. We aren't even planning to go until Summer 2007, but a least we know we'll be staying onsite . We have never taken the tour so that will be something else to look forward too.

Were you living in South Africia then?

Yes I lived there for 28 years, TV came out there in colour when I was about 9 and I will be 40 tomorrow, we had the TV arial(antennae) on the roof and you could spot the couple of houses who had one from far down the road, when I tell my kids this they are like 'HUH'!!!

I've been helping my 4th grader complete his project on wolves. He decided to make a wolf habitat diorama, brochure and t-shirt to accompany his oral report. He has great ideas, but it ended up being a lot of homework for both of us. Here is the t-shirt design, though I think he wants it to only say Wolves now

Here is the diorama. Paper mache, paint and a lot of trees that we made out of garland. We also put a stream in there, but it's hard to see. The moon actually lights up.

There is a little picture of a deer herd in there as he needed to show the wolves prey and I didn't have anything else on hand.

Speaking of DVC....what do you all use that gigantic tote that they send you for? Mine is still all wrapped up and I am trying to figure out what to do with it.

Mine is also still in the bag, never got one when we originally bought, we use the caps all the time, have blue and red ones and I also got the much sought after towel which they warned me not to leave on a chair as there seem to be lots of sticky fingers around them, so that is still in the bag too.

I agree it is SAD that people could take the credit for something they didn't do!!!!!

Just think how much egg will be on that DIS'ers face when someone asks him/her to design a shirt for them? Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall when that happens.

Kate, I'm so sorry that is happening to you (and presumably to other designers as well). If I tried to do that, anyone who knows me would laugh me to scorn. They know me too well. I'm just tickled pink to let everyone know I've got a friend who designs t-shirts. Every time my kids wear the Disneyland one you designed for us, I get asked about it. I think I'll stop telling people about you. Then, maybe you'll have more time for yourself.

You are so busy Brendita....sounds like a lot has been accomplished.

I can't remember who asked about the brand of fabric markers but I could not find them while out and about today...sorry .

I was going to start on tshirts this weekend but my youngest showed me the afghan I made for her for Christmas has a HUGE hole in it and since this was one of my first crochet projects I didn't know what to do other than unravel it to that point and recrochet(if that's a word) it .

Thanks to everybody for the places to find Belle I will be making reservations for some of our meals in the morning....WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!

Kate I would ask that you make this a sticky - its really important...

and if its in reference to me - I truly am sorry (I posted the Bear Shirt Design, from way back when we were on the Theme Park Forum) I've made the mistake of not keeping track, or not noting who designed what for me, I know you, and Midnight, and triplefgs... et el would take up request, all on one thread... so it is very poor of me... I guess when I posted that shirt design, I should've also included a "thanks to you who designed this for me, sorry I forgot to write down... or something to that effect...

I feel really bad.

I've recently installed Incredimail, and people are designing wallpaper, or letterheads with the disney theme, they all tend to put their names on the designs I've noticed...

but obviously it would be easy to remove the names...
