Hard to imagine, four years already. Our friend, low-key, also known here many years ago as Pop Daddy, or just Jason. passed away four years ago today. I recall Jason as a friend, an online friend, whom we both said we would become real life friends over a beer or two some day. Well, some day did not come soon enough for us. Jason remains an online friend to me, though at times, he truly seems like a real life friend to me. He was a real guy. He was a character, a real character. Fun-loving, seemingly carefree, though at the same time, compassionate, thoughtful. Jason was a good guy for sure. For those who possibly are not aware of low-key, maybe arriving here on the DIS sometime in the past four years, a thread that was written at the time of his passing is below, in the lower right corner of my signature.

And Jason liked music, a lot. Thought I would add a song below, sort of says it well, recorded during the pandemic, 6 years ago.

Here's to falling on your face
Getting back up and winning the race
Here's to taking it to extremes
Never losing faith in our crazy dreams

Here's to having no fear
Here's to right now, right here

Here's to the nights we won't remember
With the friends we won't forget
May we think of them forever
As the days that were the best
May we make some noise together
Make a beautiful mess
And say we did it all

Here's to reaching for the stars
Hanging out in castles or hanging in the yard
Here's to leaving no foolish deed undone
Moving to the beat of our own crazy drum

Here's to living our lives
Here's to right here, right now

Here's to the nights we won't remember
With the friends we won't forget
May we think of them forever
As the days that were the best
May we make some noise together
Make a beautiful mess
And say we did it all
We did it all

Here's to making memories, making mistakes
Taking all the rules and making them break
Here's to us being crazy fools
Here's to me, here's to you

Here's to the nights we won't remember
With the friends we won't forget
May we think of them forever
As the days that were the best
May we make some noise together
Make a beautiful mess
And say we did it all
Say we did it all

Yeah, we won't forget 'em, said

Here's to the nights we won't remember
With the friends we won't forget (here's to the nights)
May we think of them forever
As the days that were the best
May we make some noise together
Make a beautiful mess
And say we did it all
Yeah, we did it all
We did it all
We did it all

Thank you for posting this Dan.
I always considered Jason to be a great DIS friend.
We had a lot of fun PMs in the past and I do miss him a lot.
He would always make me laugh when he would reply to someone's thread, "to long" , which was always meant in jest and never meant to be crappy and hurt people's feelings. It still makes me laugh. My polls have gotten kinda lengthy and I often think of him posting his "to long" reply on my polls.
He will always be a beloved member of The DIS

I considered him a friend here. We had a lot in common (around same age/generation and for both, our first album bought was The Partridge Family, lol, plus he had a Cairn Terrier, too, and other things). I’m still sad thinking about it. 😔

Dan, he was a treasure on here. It’s so hard to believe it’s already 4 years.
