Wow..... :wizard: :wizard: to you.

I am also a person that has a hard time saying no, but this year I did. I cut back on my cub scout responsibilities because I have a part time job and I am much happier for it. The cub scouts are doing fine without my hand in every aspect. I also have stopped helping out with our snowmobile club (we don't have any snow this year anyway) and I don't go to any meetings that I know will end up with me volunteering to do something. This may sound selfish, but I have more time to spend on the important things In my life, my dh, 3 ds and of course Disney :teeth: . Becky you are at the point that I was last year at this time. You are one person and can only do so much, let others carry some of the load. You have but one life to live so make sure that you enjoy it.

Deb

I second this. Don't wait until you are my age! Life is too short and you need to spend it doing the things that are MOST important to you. I know that I made a difference in many peoples lives - I've been told by many of my Girl Scouts. However, it took a terrible toll on my family and myself. You need to learn to say no. Others WILL pick up and if they don't, then so be it.

I know you have commitments that you have made that you should keep. Just remind yourself to say NO to any more requests until those obligations are over. Once they are over, then take some time to determine what is most important to you.

:grouphug: to you in the mean time.

Ok. I think I have officially become a Disney Design Addict. I was putting some autograph pages together and saw this clip of Alice. My mind immediately came up with some ideas for a t-shirt and voila an hour later - here it is. I didn't think I had a creative bone in my body!!!! Who knew?? :confused3

It's supposed to have a "dreamy" quality to it.

Watch out Vicki - you'll go over the edge soon!! I love the Alice shirt. Nice job!!

I think you're right! I'm supposed to be gone picking up my daughter from a dance and instead I'm sitting here designing another shirt that I had a brain storm on. Better go. I'm not late yet but if I don't get out of here right now, I will be. Talk to you guys tomorrow.

Theresa, I've been meaning to send you a pm. Hope things are looking up your way!

Any good deals? Ok, ok, I'm going, I'm going! I'm leaving my laptop on though because I don't think I'll sleep until I get the other shirt done. So I'll check in when I get back.

I wanted to let everyone know that Bill's dad died late last night. Even though we knew it was coming, it was still a shock. Bill being the only child is having a tough time.

Thanks for the kind words.

Kristine
My heart is breaking with yours. I'm so sorry for your loss:grouphug: :grouphug:

There were some deals...mainly still out of our price range with just one income, BUT, found a tshirt for my pooh size for $5!!! and some great park exclusive pins. Great stuff!! We all left wanting things...thankfully most of it was DisneyLand merchandise so my little one...ever the pragmatic....kept saying but we aren't going to Disney Land we're going to Disney World. Why would we want that?

Hi, DDA! :wave2:

Been a busy few days, and I just spent a couple of hours catching up! Don't remember what all I read, but to those I remember most:

Kristine - :grouphug: to your family. I know words don't help, but hoping that prayers do. My mom is an only child, so I know how hard it was on her to lose her parents.

Becky - :grouphug: to you, too. I don't have much advice, except to say that a good cry might be in order. If I know I need to have one, I usually pop in a movie that I know will do the trick (Finding Neverland, Apollo 13, Bambi, Lion King...these work for me!). Sometimes, it's just good to get it out - no matter what triggers it.

:wizard: to all those with the potty-training problems. I hope you guys are still around when I have kids some day - lots of good ideas!

:wizard: to all those feeling poorly. I hope the medication kicks in, and you begin feeling better!

:cheer2: to Marti and Paul for the PD for Vicki's daughter!

:Pinkbounc to Kate for the DL trip! I read Birnbaum's when preparing for my DL trip - I will say it's much more informative than the WDW version, but still not THAT great. Glynis' advice was the best! :thumbsup2 :teeth: I bet Passporter will be great!

:woohoo: to Brenda - I'm glad you've gotten what you wanted, and hope things go well (and quickly) for you and DS as you start your new life!

I'll check back tomorrow. My parents were in town through today, and have hounded me to the point of distraction about my swollen lymph nodes - and then promptly got home and began sending me links on symptoms of lymphoma! :sad2: I know they're just concerned, but it is definitely affecting my mood and positive outlook. I think I may have to do the biopsy sooner rather than later to get them off my back.

Goodnight all - may you have Disney dreams! :cloud9:

Don't let your parents make you any more  . One of my volunteers when frustrated with someone or they just do something not normal...she says "Bless their pointy little heads". So bless your parents pointy little heads. If the doctor is not worried at this point neither should you!!

I just want to update you on my life without breaking down in tears due to frustration.

Becky

Becky it sounds like exactly what you may need to do is cry!!

And as some of these lovely people told me earlier in the week....get some me time and until that can be scheduled ice cream is yummy!!!

I had the ice cream and cry, still working on the me time, but I am not as frustrated as I was at the beginning of the week.

The stress is probably not helping your health(but I bet you knew that!!)

Pixie dust :wizard: and :grouphug: for you!!

Been there, going through it!! Hoping to see you at the other side soon!!

Wanted to share something I saw on the TAPS board just in case you might not have seen this. It sounds like a doable thing for anyone to do. I think I will give this a try also while we are there.

Paying it Forward.. with Fastpass"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My husband had a great idea that I think you might all like.

For the past few years, ever since Disney started the fastpass system, when we are ready to leave the park for that day, we get fastpasses for one of the hard to get onto attractions.

As we are exiting, we give the fastpasses away to a family on thier way into the park at that time.

It is fun to share the magic of Disney by giving these tickets away to someone for them to enjoy. The reactions we have experienced are wonderfully rewarding.

In MK we like to get Peter Pan's Flight ( always a long line) and give them to a family with young children.

At Disney MGM Studios, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror are our choices.

Epcot attractions we have done are Test Track and Soarin' .

In DAK we usually get Kilimanjaro Safari but I imagine Everest would be even better.

So... My challange to you all is to begin "Paying it Forward.. with Fastpass" yourselves. I am sure you all will find it as rewarding as we do.

Spread some Pixie Dust "Pay it Forward.. with Fastpass"

Have fun!

That is exactly what Steffy, my sisters and I were able to do during our trip in October. :goodvibes
My one sister did not want to go on Soaring again so she and my other sister went to do something else. When Steffy and I got done with our second time on Soaring, we noticed a couple ready to stand in line. We gave them the two other fastpasses from my sisters and they were so very excited. it is such a good feeling. Will have to remember to do that more often the next time.

Sending :wizard: and :grouphug: to everyone. I know you can all use them.

Ok, so I'm not caught up.
Becky

:grouphug: Becky :grouphug:

Sometimes, when I feel overwhelmed, I just stop and breathe, and try to focus on one task I can complete so I can feel good about it. :grouphug:

Sounds like your work and personal life have collided and it has just knocked you on your butt for a second.... Plus, it is snowing so hard.... I haven't seen this heavy a snow in years. Years. Please be safe driving in this mess tomorrow. :grouphug:
Sometimes, it just helps to vent... :furious:
