2027 Disney Summer Cruises

I'm patiently (?) waiting for the Spring Transatlantic for 2027..I have a Placeholder reservation I'm waiting to use to book it. It's my retirement celebration trip.....come on!!! Release the dates already!!

This thread is on steps but so far I’m not seeing anything we’d need to remove. If it turns into a political debate or name calling then absolutely! At that point it’d be off topic and not about cruising. These folks have said they don’t intend to cruise due to Greenland/US relations and other reasons without getting into it. Fine, nothing to argue about, their choice, same as some folk don’t want to go anywhere near some other countries at present due to military actions.
When did Disney start cruising to Greenland?

They don’t (at least not yet) but they do cruise to the EU, and shaky relations make some put off travel until things seem more stable again. We’ve not changed our plans, but I know many others have.

More likely someone making an irrational statement to get a reaction.

It only goes one way.
No, it doesn’t. I have been trying to only step in when things become a debate, or attacks groups or certain people.

You have stated many times you disagree with our decisions about a lot of things but all we can do is our best. I keep reminding you we are human volunteers. We are not the only Disney forum if you think we are doing a poor job.

… I am literally telling you I know people personally who have changed their plans. ABD has had many cancellations for this summer, more than usual. My friend got their passport in six days. I’ve no doubt some are blowing smoke but I have enough evidence that it is not all fake. I’m not going to keep arguing with you about it.

It’ll be interesting to see how well the 2027 cruises book and how many discounts we continue to see.

Just an FYI
From previous years, the European cruises, especially the August UK sailings dont really sell out in the first 12 months. UK people hold out until 6 months or less before departure dates when the cruises go to Guaranteed Rates.

I would not measure the sell out rate of the European cruises for 2027 against what is happening with world economics in 2026.

But on the other hand, from various sources who monitor cruise port schedules, it is highly likely that The Wish will be in Europe in summer 2027. This ship will have HIGH demand , especially for the August 2027 departures from UK.

While there may be a drop in Americans booking summer 2027 in Europe, like in previous years there will be a high number of Europeans, especially UK and Irish people booking, so the cruises will sell out, but just not in the same time frame that American cruisers expect them to.

Well and Americans are also fickle in that we book and then change our minds…. My Panama Canal cruise this April was an almost instant sell out but lots of rooms opened up later when the east bound one showed up. More when PIF came, etc.

Why because they are worried we're going to war with Europe. 😂 I'm not surprised you know people that think like that. I don't know anyone that thinks that is even remotely possible.

ABD not selling could be a variety of reasons. The main one being cost. ABD prices are insane and very few people can afford them. You are talking 50K+ for a family vacation. That is for the 1% only. The DCL cruises probably won't sell because they will out price themselves like they always do. They have not sold well the last 4 years and this had nothing to do anything that's gone on during the last year.

Related to Europe summer cruise.. is it better to wait for a Guaranteed stateroom rather than booking early? Or too much of a risk?

Which location are you thinking about?

The August cruises from UK will have high interest from UK people. There are now 4 years worth of people who are Silver Castaway Club and from the UK cruise communities I am seeing a lot of interest from both first timers and Cast Away Club members. This leads me to think that a lot more people will book at opening week and that there may be less chance of Guaranteed rates for these cruises.

The May / June / July Med cruises will have less UK people for the main reason that UK schools are still in term. UK schools fine parents for taking kids out of school, so as a result UK families will not be the main type of passengers. This leads me to believe that there may be a good chance of Guaranteed rates for these cruises.

This has been a problem with the unique DCL itineraries (like Panama Canal) for years now. I think it's much less so people "changing their minds" and more just the Pearl/Platinum folks booking a room opening day on these sailings just so they have a spot (and at the opening price) even though in many cases they know at the time that it's probably less than 50/50 that they will actually go on the cruise. It's a "just in case" booking.

So they not only sell out quickly, but the prices spike rapidly. Only to have, as you said, plenty of rooms open up later. However, as people cancel, the price doesn't come back down. And people who would have gone on that sailing had there been availability when they went to book early on before the cancellations kicked in have pivoted and made other plans or booked other sailings.

I booked a room on the PC cruise in April and ended up cancelling as flights were crazy as it’s over Easter. Also I don’t really want to sail from Galveston. I think this one booked fast as it was the first one in a long time and no one knew if there was going to be another. Then the other two cruises released and people pivoted to them. (I haven’t rebooked a PC yet as really I want to sail from San Diego but the late 2026 one didn’t work date wise.)

Whereas the TAs don’t see to have that issue since they run every year and people know that.
