Has anyone heard from Heidi recently?

I hate to burst your bubble Elin, but from what I've heard, adult clothing does not go so well at yard sales. Does anyone have any info to the contrary?

Unfortunately, no. And clothing in general doesn't do as well at garage sales as you would like. You really can't get much for anything, and it KILLS you to mark a $50+ item/set for a few bucks!

Maybe a consignment store nearby would allow you to drop them off (significantly less work) and still get something out of it? We have a lot of them around here. Some pay up front, others wait until they sell.... but, in my experience, you get a lot more money this way with less hassle! It just might not be as "immediate" as a garage sale would be, as MOST of them (regardless of how they pay you) only take a certain season or two at a time.

Elin I love you :goodvibes

I'm turning 30 in November

I think you may have confused ages with Jen (tink2020)

:goodvibes

NOPE! I really thought you were 25 or so! Congrats on your youthful appearance. You are still young enough to be my daughter. :rotfl:

It did me too, Jennifer. That is why I thought it was absolutely perfect for what Clare's DH would have done to us had one of us given them a call at 2:00 a.m.!! :rotfl:

Yes, it was very funny! Then it was put in a few more posts, and the more I looked at it the more creepy it became! :)

Did you find something yet? I'll take a look.... I seriously have a good 15 or so versions of this song on various sources. I'll see what I can find, I'm thinking of a great one! :)

ETA: ok, I was thinking of "a dream is a wish your heart makes". I think I only have about 6 of the "when you wish..." not sure if any of them are fast. I'll check!

ETA (again) :) : If you are looking for just any song, then PM me :) I have made lots of videos/slideshows etc and can maybe offer some suggestions, depending on what you are looking for! I have quite the embarrassingly large collection of disney music, as I pretty much have a goal to have any Disney CD I can find :goodvibes
Here is a link to download park audio. They have just about anything you could want.

Elin -- I agree with Tammy's statement, and Jennifer's advice. I had much better luck with consignment stores. They do have very specific guidelines. They loved it when I brought in my plus size clothes because those are in high demand here in Dallas. (they usually get a lot of size 0 - 8) If I were you, I'd call around to a few asking questions, then take them your best stuff. Then I'd donate the other clothes to a women's shelter and get a receipt for your taxes.

Can't wait for the new haircut pictures!

Thank you! I actually found that thread a while back, and downloaded several things. I still look at it, but frankly -- I get totally lost! They (the main few posters) went through several server changes, so I can't tell what is being re-posted or what is new, so I haven't downloaded anything in a while!

It's an amazing thread though, isn't it?!

I have collected quite a few CDs on overstock, amazon, ebay, etc that I had never even come across in Disney stores or parks! I'm sure they were there somewhere, but I hadn't even heard of them... and they are some of my favorites! Then of course there are the Disneymania CDs (4) and Disney Classics Collection, etc, which are always fun :goodvibes

But park audio was something I only heard in podcasts before that thread!! Thanks for looking out for an enabling opportunity, though! ;) :teeth:

Well, I should be getting off of here. I was all set to enjoy my day off by just lounging around the house for once (at least in the morning), and then I remembered that the house contractor people were coming to make a few adjustments at 0730. I had completely forgotten until the doorbell rang! The manager from the homebuilder came then and adjusted a few doors, and now he is outside waiting for the rest of the contractors. We had a plumber come by to do some sort of standard inspection on some hosing in the bathrooms. Now we are just waiting on someone to fix our breakfast room light fixture (that was TOTALLY hung in the wrong spot :confused3 :rotfl: ) and someone to come for a couple of other things (mostly outside, if I remember correctly. which stinks, because it's gross out!).

My poor dog is VERY unhappy with me keeping her cooped up in the gameroom! :guilty:

Have a good day! I have promised myself I'm not doing a lot of work today, so I might be back around later! :goodvibes

Just got off the phone with Melanie, June's daughter. They drained June's lungs over the weekend, and they were quite full of fluid. She is not doing so well talking either, so please don't call her. Anyway, she is going to be in the hospital a while longer. Then she will spend some time recuperating at the house of her son's friend. She will be flying home when this ordeal is all over.

So, if you all want to send cards, I think that the address for her at the hospital is OK for a while yet. PM me if you need her last name.

Some people are so picky...your light fixture is only off by a few feet! :teeth:

And "gross out" is an understatement...did the storm wake you up this morning? I can't believe Alyssa slept through it...the whole house was shaking!

By the way, she's currently looking out the front window watching for Jennifer. :rotfl:

Thanks for the update Elin. I figured something was seriously wrong when she was not showing any signs of improvement after being medicated. We are thinking about you, June, and praying for a quick recovery!

Thanks for the update Elin. This certainly has been quite an ordeal for June...sending lots of prayers and :wizard:

By the way, I agree that you should research some consignment shops in your area. Ebay and yard sales just don't yield much profit on adult clothing.

Amy :)

We only have one consignment shop left here I think, and there was a time when they did not take plus size clothing. I am going to check into it. It is not so much a desire to make tons of money on these things, but they are in really good shape and I hate like the dickens to just give them away. We will already be making the most out of our charitable donations deductions with the IRS this year. Plus, as an added bonus... I want them all out of my house to make room for more :rotfl: !

We had a ball! Went out to breakfast with Kathrin and then picked Kristin up at her dorm. Took her to Starbucks to get her heart started and then they ganged up on me and took me to a salon to get my hair cut. It is VERY different and I will post pictures after I play with it today and make it look more like me and less like a movie star. :goodvibes

Then we shopped for me again! I ended up with two pair of cropped pants to start out the school year in colors I would never have chosen; one pair is rust and the other pair is olive. I had to go down another size and that just about made my day right there.

Then we went to two restaurants and had tapas and beers and sat outside on the porches or decks. It was a delightful ending to a great weekend!

Thanks for asking, Tammi.

What did you and the kids do?

it sounds like a lot of fun! Good to read you had a good time.
