~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Been AWOL on the boards much of this week but lurked here and there. From what I could gather..

Howard - You're inspired by Tom Watson and trying to make a run at next year's US Open with your new clubs. I also read that you had a slight penic problem. Hopefully they can clear that up with some anti-biotics.

Jodi - A way back I saw a question about NYC. I realized last week I have a problem in that NYC is the day after Halloween (11/1). Halloween got screwed up last year by a Phillies parade so I need to figure out how to save it this year or I am in the doghouse. Kids may have to trick or treat in Greenwich Village. I expect I will make a reservation at the Wall St Inn which is a place I have stayed at before (great prices on weekends) and it's a couple of blocks from your place.

Colleen - I saw your DD10 is swimming at state meets. We're trying to get our DD10 to dive head first right now but she enjoyed the first year of swimming which ended yesterday.

Mike - I saw you almost tripped over some deer on a recent LR. You must have been hauling a#$.

Dave - I saw your Apollo 11 coverage on FB. Must have been nice. How'd you like Universal? We haven't been there yet.

Hey Chester, Sara, Jen, CindyLou, and others I may have missed.

Week looked like this: walked 3 with Nicole on Mon, 5 (8:53 mpm) on Tues, 8 (8:51mpm) in Philly on Thurs night, 5 (9:32 mpm) on Fri, and 15 today @ 8:31mpm. Felt pretty decent today. Had a jolt of energy between miles 6-10 where I was running between 8-8:15 mpm. Heat kicked in and slowed me down the last 1.5 miles.

Lou~ Your running last week is something I aspire to. I am still rebuilding slowly. I have a plan in place, I just need to tell "real life" to let me follow it. I will be back with the program tonight. By the way, there is not nor has there been any "penic" problems here. :thumbsup2

Over the weekend we attended our 5K event (Blood Bank of Delmarva's Summer Blood Challenge 5K) in Wilmington (Andrew and I worked it, Cam ran it). After that we drove to Coram, NY out (way out) on Long Island. A trip that took over 4.5 hours. :headache:  :sad2: Luckily the friends were worth the trip and the aggrivation. :upsidedow The return trip wasn't too bad.

Our house is still being worked on. The siding is all complete, most of the shutters are installed, today the front porch supports are being replaced by turned columns. Hopefully gutters and downspouts will be installed today or tomorrow at the latest.

I'll be taking Andrew for some pre-driver's test practice over the next two nights. He goes to the DMV on Wednesday night to take his test to get his learner's permit. :scared:

I think that is all that is going on with me. Work is hectic for the next two weeks while I work on FY2009/10 Budget and on the Marketing Plan. :surfweb: Lots of fun!

Hi to: Cindy, Matt, Chester, Tracy, Colleen, Judy (& Charlie), CindyLou, Jodi, Sara, Dave, Jen, Mike, and Kathy.

Hey Freaks of Botville-

Just a quick drive by.:moped:

I have started to "officially" train for the NYC marathon...;). I'll let you know how it goes .

But my main reason for posting:

Lou - RE: Halloween! Check out this website; www.jekyllpub.com. It's a really cool restaurant in NYC - one in the Village & one uptown on 7th Ave. (not sure if that one is there anymore, though). I took Spencer there when he was younger & it totally freaked him out, we had to sit out in the bar. It's really creepy. Take the kids there on Sat. afternoon to earn HUGE brownie points for the whole Halloween thing. Just be sure to make reservations & go EARLY!

Hey Bots!

Still alive and still working and still pre-training for Honolulu.

I miss you all and hope the best for you all and your families and (pets)

Always lurking and hardly ever responding,

Chester

Hello Bots,

Finished our final swim meet of the year, a couple of loads of laundry later, another suitcase packed and we are off the Canada tomorrow. Hope everyone is doing well, 8 miles for me this morning, it wasn't pretty, that will be it for LR's for a few weeks, so I hope to get 10 or 12 in before our cruise.

Have a good week! Off to catch some fish and breathe in some Canadian air.

Have a great trip, Colleen. And don't worry about the LR stuff - it's all good. Breathe some good air for me & shoot a couple wolves for Mike.

Chester - I'm missing the whole BOT vibe as well. I still can't believe we're not doing a fall marathon together. Oh well. Keep training for HI & Las Vegas! You're an inspiration!:yay:. Tell Tracy I said "Hey".

Well guys, I think I'm officially OUT for Baltimore. Too much traveling in too soon of a time with NYC & all. I know, I know...I suck. But I just can't wrap my brain around going down there.

Wait....is anyone even running Baltimore still?????:rotfl: I know YOU are, Mindy, but you don't care if I'm there or not.

Hey, wait - I care and now am sad.:sad2: You suck.

Really, you're sad I won't be there? But, wouldn't it be better if just you & Matt were there together? You know, a nice romantic-running weekend by yourselves? Come on...isn't Dave going? He's much more congenial than I am, anyway.

Of course I'm sad - I miss the Bot vibe too! We definitely need to do a Bot lunch in Disney in January!

And, seriously, there is nothing romantic about running a marathon.

Chester - I'll see you at ToT (right?) - AnyBOTty else?

I'm all registered and have a (super cheap ) flight booked!

Jodi~ Don't you mean kick a couple of wolves for Mike? :lmao: By the way, I'll miss you in Baltimore (and I wasn't even going). Why don't you run the Ridgefield Half with me? Hmmm?

Colleen~ Have a safe and enjoyable trip to Canada! Bring us back some Roots clothing or something as a souvenir or some of that famous bacon. :upsidedow

Chester~ Cam, Rhonda, Michael (her DH) and I are running the Race for the Taste 10K, we'll see you there!

Cindy~ Hi to you and Matt! I wish I could run Baltimore, however my dance card is full this fall. Cam wants me to not run one (:sad2: :rolleyes1).

I said I was getting back to my training plan and I did tonight. My original schedule had 4 miles, since I have been slacking lately I ran 7.

Miles: 7:03
Time: 1:06:01
Pace: 9:23
Splits: 9:06, 10:08, 9:15, 9:30, 9:32, 9:05, and 9:05.

Have a great evening!

Forget Baltimore...it's just DC's ugly step brother anyway...kind of like Pittsburgh to Philadelphia (just kidding Pitts guys).

Jodi - I'll have to check out the Jekyll and Hyde bar but DD10 may freak. She gets scared in the Haunted Mansion. I figure trick or treating is trick or treating no matter where you are. The kids could walk up 2 blocks in NYC and get more candy then walking down 2 miles of roads in my neighborhood.

Howard - Don't get too inspired by my running plan. I have no training plan right now. The plan is to just run as far as I can whenever I can get a break in the schedule. I wasn't happy with my Philly performance so I figured I have to beat myself up over the summer to prepare for NYC.

Lou

Howard - Nice way to get a 7-miler in during the week!:thumbsup2 I was on Ridgefield's 1/2 marathon site the other day.....:scratchin.

Lou - If your DD is sensitive to "scary" stuff, forget the Pub - it's pretty funky & loud, too. I've got a few friends in NYC & will have them bring me up to speed re: the local trick or treating protocol.;)

Cindy - See, even Lou doesn't want me to run Baltimore! We'll definitely have Colleenplan a luncheon while we're @ Disney. It has to be on Friday, though :rolleyes1. OK? Even an early dinner that day??

Colleen - Have you gone to the Great White North??? Beauty, eh? Get to planning our Disney get together, please!popcorn::.

I'm training for NYC with MFM...again. I LOVE that schedule .

We will likely be at ToT-- and Colleen, I agree with you on the romance part. One of the nicest, most romantic trips we have taken was our weekend trip without DD to do the Princess 1/2. ToT is actually our anniversary gift to each other, a weekend getaway with a little race thrown in... tomorrow will be our 14th anniversary and we plan to secure a sitter so we can get to FL for the race.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU & BUTCH, JEN! :woohoo::yay: ToT sounds like a great gift to eachother!

Hey Bot-ites!

I am here to report a cross-training effort for the evening. I biked 14.8 miles with my son Andrew and his friend Billy.

Jen & Butch~ I hope your October trip for the ToT race is amazing and romantic. You know.. a lot of physical exertion and sweating.. :rolleyes1 :confused3 Oh wait, that could be interpreted a couple different ways.

Jodi~ So you're considering the Ridgefield Half? :woohoo:

Hi to all!

Oooh, them's fightin' words. Lou

Good Morning Everyone. Sorry I haven't been on lately. Things got really busy with my quick trip to the Kennedy Space Center last week with my Dad. We had an amazing time. My Dad and I were able to get up close to 8 Apollo Astronauts. The new Apollo Treasures gallery was something to see, and Dad was able to be present when the astronauts asked everyone who worked on the Apollo program to stand. He was in heaven. I was even able to get a photo of him with the 2-time shuttle astronaut and present director of the Kennedy Space Center, Robert Cabana. It was a great trip.

I didn't do any running while I was gone, and my motivation to run seems to have run away. I "sensed" Jodi was going to back out of Baltimore, and I think she took my running motivation with her.

I'm chalking it up to the busy weekend in Florida. I came back exhausted (in a good way though), and needing to catch up with a lot of things at home and work.

OK, that's it for me. I'll talk to you all later.
