~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Nothing of note to report for me. I am feeling the after effects of my Monday XT session. My upper body pretty much feels like I was rolled down a hill in a metal tub. Luckily, my hair is short enough that I don't have to comb it. I'm not sure I could lift my arms that high.

What the heck are you doing?!?:confused3

You should never be that sore. Although I did have a good :lmao: over the whole image.:wave2:

No, I didn't get to see Chichi in WDW :sad2: . THis is the 3rd time I've missed him. I may, however, be doing a clinic with him in NYC in March!:cool1: . Heck, somebody's got to teach me how to run faster!!
Jodi - You should talk to Colleen's DH Jeff. He's given me all kinds of good advice.

Which brings me to my run today.

Colleen - You can tell that husband of yours that this running fast thing is too much work!!

Jeff thought I was running too slow (not a bad idea for those of us fond of actually breathing oxygen) so I'm attempting to pick up the speed some. Here I thought he was trying to help. Turns out he's just trying to kill me!

I obviously have grown a bit sloth-like because today's run shouldn't have been too bad but I thought I was going to hurl up my spleen. Of course, it was 18 degrees with a 20 mile an hour wind (that's -8 Celsius and 32 kilometers per hour for the Canadian Grim Reeper) so that may have factored into it some.

BTW, the only thing crazier than following Jeff's advice;) is getting roped into being in charge of volunteers and concessions. Good luck!

Jodi - I still think you should do CMM. Many more people there to ridicule than at some local race.

:wave2: :wave2: to everyone else.

Clearly Colleen & Jeff have been conspiring with...I mean speaking with Kathy

I still think you should do CMM. Many more people there to ridicule than at some local race.

WOW, you know, I never thought of it quite like that. I think you've got something there...country music, belt buckles, cowboy hats!::yes:: Sign me up!!

belt buckles, sign me up!!

Oh yeah!! :thumbsup2 What do those country folk say, belt buckles as big as saucers?!? or is it platters?:confused3

Mike, MIke, Mike, I said this before and I will say it again, What the heck are you doing? Man, don't kill yourself, you have 8 months to build up some speed, you don't have to do it this week:

in 18 degree weather, too cold, 25 degrees is Jeff's limit
and -30 windchill,
and in hurricane force winds,
and you probably gave blood yesterday,
and you probably just came off night shift,
did you eat?

should I go on?

Yes, I should, remember, you are still recovering from your weight training.

Slow and steady my friend.

We can only hope the medals are as big as the belt buckles!

O.K., maybe I was being a bit melodramatic about Jeff trying to kill me. Cripple maybe, but not kill.;)

And no, I did not give blood yesterday and yes, I did eat a banana and some O.J.

25 degrees is Jeff's limit?? He's never going to get the nickname "The Alberta Clipper" with an attitude like that!

Yeah, Jeff told me what you called me!:snooty:

Thing is, I am not sure if I should be mad at you or not.:rotfl:

I'm assuming you are referring to the "Mother Hen" comment?

No, no. For heaven's sake, don't even think about being mad. It was meant with the utmost respect. Someone needs to be the voice of reason from time to time.

Trust me, I'm sure I'll say something truly offensive sometime soon. Then you can take issue.

Hey Mike, all's good!:thumbsup2

I thought you would like to know concessions is all set up and ready to go at 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning.:cheer2: And yes, I know you were all wondering, I am having my glass of wine now!:thumbsup2 A girls gotta prep for the whole weekend poolside. :wave2: DD9 is swimming in the morning session and DS11 is swimming in the afternoon. Not only do I have to the starting blocks, I have to keep an eye on my volunteers at concessions. I just hope those kids like mini M and M's, sour Skittles and fruity Starbursts!::yes::

Wow, I kind of lost track of things. Last week was pretty crazy between work and snow throwing off my schedule.

Going to try to run today and tomorrow. 15 miles total or something like that.

The 2009 spring race schedule is taking shape. Signed up for Caesar, the Penn Relays 20K (4/19 - my b-day), and the Broad St Run in May.

I'll try to catch up on the posts later today.

Lou

Lou - Lot's of cool new race logos in your siggie!

Jodi - Done packing for your cruise?

Colleen - Have fun bossing the volunteers around?

Where the heck is everyone else?

I did my 14 mile LR today. I've been seeking out some more hilly runs, trying to get tuned up for Nashville. Well, I got more than I bargained for today. Nothing steep, just long-long inclines and declines. They kicked my bootay!

I think I need to keep repeating that course until I get my revenge.

It's 61 degrees out right now! I am going running. Where and how far? In the words of the great 80's one-hit-wonder band Missing Persons, Destination Unknown. I'll just run.

I'm here!!

Mike - Is Nashville hilly? You've been obsessed with speed & hills lately, what gives?? Taking TWO, one-a-day multi-viatmins in the a.m.? Jeff's really lit a fire under your a$$, huh? It's all about Boston, isn't it?

Speaking of Boston, did I even tell you guys that Team Hoyt was on the same plane as Spencer & I when we left the Disney Marathon weekend? He & his son ran the 1/2 on Sat. Very nice guy. I guess they're from MA & I remember reading an article about he & his son (before they became "popular") wanting to run Boston, but the race director said "NO. No wheelchairs or anything like it." Nice. That's why, even if I ever qualify for Boston (fat chance), I'll never run it. They're so elitist. No women, no handicap, blah blah blah. And I mean, really, if you can BUY your way in, why have qualifying times?
OK, stepping off soap box.

Lou - It's 55 or so, here today. But real windy. That's OK, it was nice to actually sweat on a run. I ran 6 yesterday & 3 today.

Yes, we're finishing up packing today, Bruce is an ironing machine (I don't have the dexterity for such things...I burn stuff) & we're getting it done. I can't WAIT :beach: .

popcorn:: Colleen - How'd the kids do @ the swim meet? Did you go commando on the volunteers?popcorn::

Hey, yeah, how did the swim meet go Colleen?

Jodi- When do you leave on the cruise?

What happened to Matt and Cindy?

Hey, howdy, hey, to everyone else.

I did 8 miles yesterday. It was a beautiful day to run. It almost felt like there was a warm breeze blowing on me. OK, back to the taxes.

No training to report. Cam and I drove up to Judy (Honeibee) & Charlie's yesterday to surprise Charlie (his birthday was last weekend). We had a great time and arrived back late this afternoon. A great time was had by all. We went to dinner last night in Norwalk, CT at a place called the Ash Creek Saloon... good eat'in for sure. I think I'll need to add about 2 more weeks to my recovery runs (when I can begin to train again) for the big meal Charlie and I shared. It was called a "Posse" and a Posse could have eaten it and been full.

Glad to se some of us are being productive. I need to look at my race schedule past the Caesar Rodney race in March. It is hard to do with no end in sight to the PF recovery though. I'll get there.

:grouphug:

Howard

Howard - NO WAY!! I used to live in Norwalk, my sister still does. My mom lives in the next town over, New Canaan. She still lives in the house that I grew up in. I've been to Ash Creek Saloon many a time! Where I live now is about an hour north of there. Weird to think you were so close...and yet, so far :goodvibes .

Dave - We leave for our cruise on Thurs. We fly in to Tampa & go visit my mom & step-dad in Sarasota for 2 nights. Sat. we drive up to the port & off we go. I'm very excited, but it'll seem weird to be away from home for so long :confused3 . My sister & kids are staying here while we're gone, so at least the house won't be lonely!:sad2: Nice job on that 8 miles, dude!:thumbsup2 Don't think I'll be doing that kind of mileage any time soon!:p

popcorn:: Colleen - How'd the kids do @ the swim meet? Did you go commando on the volunteers?popcorn::
Jeeze, I'm sure hoping your "commando" is not what I'm thinking of commando!:scared1:

And what's this bit about me upping the ante. You're running everyday Dodo.

Howard - I'm not sure what the "Posse" entails, but it sounds right up my alley. I'm glad you and the Honeibees had a good time.

Dave - Nice job on the 8 miles. Anything in your racing future?

Lou - Still running?

Look Jodi, no training for me to report today. Happy?

Hey Everyone: Rest day for me yesterday, and I spent it getting home chores finished up, laundry, bills, and taxes. Saturday I used the nice weather to take down the outdoor Christmas lights.

Mike- The only race I'm thinking about in my future is the Pittsburgh Marathon on May 3. I haven't registered, but it's not going to fill on it's first year back. I'm interested in the Caesar Rodney Half Marathon, but I'm not sure the date works for me. I was thinking I could visit my Dad in DE, but I need to see what's on the family schedule.

Jodi- Have a great time on the cruise. Where does the 7 day cruise go? Give my best to Bruce.

Howard- Sounds like you had a great weekend with friends and food. I hope that PF starts getting better for you. How's your new position going anyway?

Colleen- Did you survive the swim meet?

Lou- How did your 15 miles over the weekend go? I loved your Missing Persons reference. I might have to get that on my iPod.

Well, time to get ready for work. Have a great day everyone. All my best to everyone out there: Cindy, Matt, Chester, Jen, Butch and everyone else I may have forgotten.

Lou- How did your 15 miles over the weekend go? I loved your Missing Persons reference. I might have to get that on my iPod.

Dave - When I was in San Diego last summer the car I rented had satellite radio and I loved the 80's station. One morning Destination Unknown came on and I couldn't believe how long it had been since I heard that song. It was on my iPod the day we got home. Whatever happened to Dale Bozzio and her plastic bikini?

Mike - Yes, I'm running. This was the most serious running weekend I had since I ran 17 miles with Howard before he left for WDW. Got in 7 on Saturday and 10 yesterday. I ran both runs at 8:50mpm pace.

Jodi - Have fun on the cruise! Stop by Clearwater to see the WORLD CHAMPION Phillies as they train for 2009 if you get a chance. I think I'll have to schedule my first Spring Training trip in 2010.

Howard - Looks like you are heeling up fine.

Cam - I think I saw on FB that you are getting up at like 4:30AM to train. Way to go! Are you going to be running Caesar Rodney?

Colleen - I see you are still doing the swimming mom thing. How are they taking the whole Michael Phelps thing?

Hey to everyone else!

Lou

Jodi - It was windy here yesterday too. The first half of my run I had the wind at my back and the second half it felt like I was going to get knocked over. However, it was in the low 60's so I am not complaining. I'll take any 60 degree day I can get. Enjoy the cruise!
