~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Cam&Howard - Have you come down off your cloud yet?

NEVER!!! You can't make us! So there! :p

I am registering for the 46th Caesar Rodney Half Marathon, Sunday, March 15, 2009 (Right now!). The Half Marathon begins at 9:30 AM. Last year there were 1,240 finishers. For Delaware, that is a pretty big race second only to the Marathon probably. I am going to lounge around the house all morning since this race begins at 9:30 AM.... compared to Disney, this is like a late afternoon race. I am digging the whopping $35 race registration for this race vs. the Disney Half Marathon. The race benefits the local American Lung Association office.

Lou-zer Rodney ran it last year and is expected to run it with me this year (at the same time, I'm sure he'll burn me during the race).

I begin training for this event after I see the Podiatrist next week. Until then I am taking it easy.

Can I get a GO STEELERS!?!

:grouphug:

Howard

Mike Are you planning on running the half or the full?

So what says the disboard? Am I crazy? Assuming I am crazy, does that mean I should run the full or the half?
Matt, I'm going to wait until we find out for sure if we are doing Nashville or not before I decide for sure. Then again, I'm pretty much a crack ho for a full marathon:hyper: . Odds are leaning toward the full either way.

Yes, you are crazy. And this being a feel-good WISHy thing I'll say It will be tough but I'm sure if you set your mind to it you can accomplish anything. ;). 15 bucks for an extra 13.1 miles? Sounds like a bargain to me.

Michelle - Do you find that you eat more berry sundaes once a month, too? Sheesh, go have a beer!!!
:rotfl: Very funny! The only problem with doing the manly thing is that it's more professionally accepted to work fat than drunk:confused3 .

So, does the Cloud know you're dreaming about Cindy? Not that there's anything wrong with that there Butch (sorry Jen, not your Butch).

Colleen - 3rd week of July is a bit too early for us. What can you do for us a couple weeks later? I do love the Poly.

Howard - Sounds like you and Lou should have a good time at the Caesar Romero-Rodney King race. It's good to hear you're being conservative with the PF.

Lou - You know, I bet Body Glide would work for frostbite.
How 'bout this; Howard may remember the guy in the red Speedo that passed us in the half (BTW, I'm steamed. I spent a huge amount if time seaching the lost and found pictures from WDW, found his pic, copied, edited, blah, blah, blah, only to find out that work has a block on Photobucket so I can't post his picture.)

You can get your own Speedo, Body Glide up, run around Philly for a few hours and let us know how that works for you. I'm sure you would have no problems running around the City of Brotherly Love.

I better quit now.

If I am remembering correctly, today is Sara's birthday!:bday: party:

(or maybe it was yesterday or tomorrow, but I know I'm pretty close)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SARA (whenever it is.:cheer2:

Aren't you in Miami celebrating or something????:beach:

Is that right? Happy Birthday Sara!! :bday:

It's the BIG 4-0, right??? Welcome to the world of us old fogies...

I'd much rather run the Country Music full than the National Full. Time to convince Cindy to take a day off work.

Happy Birthday Sara!!:bday: party: The big 4-0! Here's a couple of links that you may now find useful.

Matt - There's no law that says you can't do both. Well, maybe the laws of good judgement and common sense. Luckily, I'm not bound by those.

I somehow talked myself out of my planned double-digit run this morning on my 4 mile drive home from work.:confused3

I'll print my training plan off tonight or tomorrow, stick it on the fridge, and go back to being a real runner on Monday.

It's odd how the appetite for food doesn't dissolve quite as quickly as the appetite for miles.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARA!!! :cheer2: :wave2: :cool1:

party: :bday:

40 never looked so beautiful!*

*Cam is the exception. ;)

  • Happy 40th Sara!!!

So what did you do to celebrate??

I had a good day yesterday, yoga in the morning and then when the kids were at swim team, I got 2.5 miles in on the treadmill followed by 20 minutes of resistance training. I really hate moving that weight. :sad2: I think I will try and get into some aquafit classes to change things up a bit. It will be much easier on the old joints.

DS11 has a mountain of homework this weekend to catch up on since he was sick, so it will be a low key weekend with housecleaning, etc. while he gets down to his homework, book report and Social Studies project. :faint:

Hope everyone has good weekend!::yes::

Happy Birthday Sara!

Man, I kind of lost track of things around here. Last week was busy. I'll try to catch up later.

I somehow talked myself out of my planned double-digit run this morning on my 4 mile drive home from work.:confused3
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!!:cheer2:

I ran 3 yesterday (yuck) & 4 today (really good :confused3 ). That's all I have to report.

That & I've decided to throw the gauntlet down & declare that I will NOT run another marathon until I break the 2 hour :hourglass mark for the 1/2, so HMPH!:snooty: That's my New Year's resolution!! Only took a few week to come up with it!:rotfl:

Miss you guys:grouphug:

I've been in Fort Lauderdale since Thursday and haven't checked the thread all week so I apologize for the all about me post. Suffice to say the 40th went well:thumbsup2 and I appreciate the links Michael:rolleyes: Yes, it was the 23rd and thanks to Cindy for remembering:goodvibes and for all of the well wishes.

Howard
- Cam looks about 35 in those wedding picsprincess:

I'm back to reality tomorrow and promise to check over the week's happenings and then post intelligently:hyper: .

Have a wonderful weekend guys:wave:

GO STEELERS!!!

Hey Bots,

Got in an 8-mile run at 8AM this morning in 17 degree temps. Forgot to charge my Garmin so I had to run with only the iPhone stopwatch which clocked in at 1:09:something. Not too bad considering it was freezing out.

I'm working today. Actually have a 4PM meeting. I'm not complaining because it's a lot better stressing about business than it would be to stress about not having a job.

Hope everyone is enjoys what's left of the weekend!

Lou

Hey BOTS!

Nothing goin' on here, cooking dinner & stuff, "listening" to my DS blow people away on his video games :rotfl2: :sad2: .

Who's goin' to NASHVUL?

Hello Bots!

I managed 6 miles today (while watching Pocahontas-- had to entertain DD5 while I ran) Still in heavy debate about doing the Princess 1/2-- if not we might to the race in DE that Howard mentioned-- much cheaper and way more local.

Cam and Howard: I just found the photos on the other thread-- absolutely fabulous. Cam, you looked beautiful :) It makes me want to plan a VR ceremony for ourselves-- maybe for our 25th, only 12 more years to go :confused3

have a great week everyone

Happy Monday everyone!

I actually ran twice this weekend, 4.5 miles on Saturday and 8.5 miles on Sunday. Not exactly the "huge miles" I'm going to need for the national marathon, but I'm still on the fence about that one.

Cindy and I watched "The Spirit of the Marathon" movie last night. I liked it, but it wasn't as inspiring as I imagined it might be. It definitely didn't make me want to go out and sign up for another marathon. I can't remember what the name of the program was, but there was a special on Nova last year about marathoning. I liked that one a lot better than "Spirit of the Marathon".

Lou nice 8 mile run. Isn't it funny how you run faster when it is colder out.

Sara Happy Birthday! :joker: I know I'm a few days later. I try to remember in time next year:)

Jodi Cindy and I are leaning towards Nashville, now. At least in my mind we are.

Hey BOT Squad!

Still have a job and will probably do the Country Music Marathon. At least I'm training as if I will be going. I put in 6 miles at Half Marathon pace on Saturday and blew off 12 miles scheduled for yesterday.

I contemplating signing up for the Half at the Sarasota Marathon on the 15th.

Chester

Chester

Chester, yeah for still having a job.:thumbsup2

Chester, Cindy, Matt, Jodi, looks like there are a few people considering Nashville. For those considering it, I read the ANNIV will give you either $10 or $15 off you entry fee. Also, I read somewhere that if you register on the 10th of a given month, there is also a discount since this is the 10th anniversary of the marathon. :goodvibes DH would like to run it, but his allergies are bad in the Spring. He could suck in the pollen for 4 hours if he was drugged up, but the next 14 days would be miserable for him, red, watery, swollen eyes that usually get infected.:scared: All that being said, I may drive over to Nashville to see the crew.:)

For training, a little resistance training (hate it:joker: ), some yoga (love it::yes:: ) and a couple miles walking yesterday. I am just trying to keep moving.

Hey to all everyone else!

I just received a call to come in and substitute teach in DD9's classroom today. I have to be there at 11:00, so gotta go.:moped:
