~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

I have a podiatrist appointment at 8 AM next Tuesday (1/27) to get my PF thingy checked out and rectified.

No running until then. Mildly annoying post races, not a big pain in the foot today.

Miss you all!

Howard

Hello Bots!

Cindy: I want the full report of the inauguration festivities. I was able to watch it on tv and DC looked packed!!!!

Howard: I hope the podiatrist is able to fix your foot pretty quickly so you can get back into action. Glad to hear you and Cam had a nice time-- the video was awesome.

As for me, I'm finally getting over the nasty cold that struck just before the race. The cough is almost but not completely gone. Any marathon related aches and pains were gone within 2-3 days other than my frustration at having to walk tons in the second half... at least I have a nice, easy time to beat for next year....

Butch had been having some foot pain prior to the race and seems to have aggravated it by running, so is now backing off for a while-- unsure if he pulled something or has a stress fracture. I'm going to ask the "sports med guy" in my office to look at him as give us the verdict.

I'm heavily debating going to the Princess half to "redeem myself" time-wise just to prove I can do it, although it seems a bit expensive for a weekend where he won't be able to run with me...

Jen~ Thanks! I'll keep everyone posted on the diagnosis/prognosis. It is already feeling better. I am medicine free today, just like yesterday. He might just say to stay off of it as much as possible and not to run or exercise on it for 6 weeks. :confused3

I finally looked up my "Official" times from Disney:

2009 Half Marathon Finish Time: 2:01:28
2009 Marathon Finish Time: 5:55:58 :sad2:

I assume that Mike's time was very similar for the Half.

:grouphug:

Howard - Welcome home to you & Cam. Hope that your honeymoon was everything you wanted! And I hope your foot crud clears up soon. I believe rest is the only thing that'll get it sorted out!

Jen - Glad the "stuff" is leaving your lungs!!!:cheer2:

All others...:flower3:

No nuthin' for me today. Watched the inauguration, which was pretty spectacular, although I don't go in much for stuff like that. Let's just say I'm cautiously optimistic!:thumbsup2 .

Did you know that Southwest offers a direct flight from Hartford to Nashville :hyper: ::yes:: :scratchin !

Anyone considering Seattle Rock & Roll?? It's like, the kewlest city EVER!:upsidedow

CON: It is pollen season in the south and that is a REALLY bad time for DH.:crazy2:
You know, it wasn't but a short while ago when I would have said "Husband?? First, we aren't convinced there is one. And second, even if such a person does exist, why would that factor into your plans to see US??"

But after meeting him, I have to admit I kind of like the guy (sorry Jeff, not in a man-crush sort of way but you're alright). Although, I do have to say I'm a little leary of a guy that goes out to a lounge and orders a Sprite:confused3 . I mean, it was at your own hotel. Were you afraid you wouldn't be able to find your way back to your couchless room??

Oh, crap, you figured me out. I guess I will just have to return my "DH" to the Winn-Dixie where I picked him up. :scratchin He had you all fooled for a short time, but I guess ordering a Sprite in a lounge gave away he was just an underage bagger. :moped:

Watch out, I just may come solo, Jodi, want to share a room?

In case anyone's interested in seeing some photos of Cam and me with lots of friends from the events two weekends ago (warning - not the races).

Howard - The pics look great. You guys looked like you had an awesome time.

Matt - Happy B-day!! I saw your Inauguration pics on FB. Looks like you and Cindy had a great view. Is that one of your offices?

Jodi - I'm with you. It's freakin cold out. I'm hoping we get a little break soon because I need to run outside.

Mike - Yeah, not too much to complain about the Eagles. They were really playing with house money the way they snuck into the playoffs. Plus, now we get to rag on Donovan McNabb for another year about how he can't win a big game.

Not much to report here today. Did a little Wii Fit this morning just to do something. May run on TM tonight.

Lou~ To describe it in running terms... It was better than finishing the Marine Corps Marathon with a PR!!! Way better!! :lmao: :thumbsup2 Awesome doesn't quite capture it. I am sure there will be more photos posted as we go along.

Matt~ :bday: party:

Fantastic pictures Howard. Cam looks stunning, and you look pretty suave too. Careful posting all the pictures. You're going to have Colleen drooling. Congratulations to you both. It looks like you had such a wonderful time.

Matt- belated Happy Birthday!!! :bday: dumba**

Thank you, Dave! It was truly the event of a lifetime! We planned it for 14 months but had been dreaming of our perfect wedding for more than 24 years -- it was a fairy tale come to life, complete with my very own prince charming!

Cam & Howard - WOW, great pictures, great video, great eveything!! Good for you!!:grouphug:

Lou - I decide the Wii Fit was too much work. One of the girls got Mario Cart from Santa. It's much more fun sitting on my big a$$ throwing turtle shells at my competitors and dodging banana peels.:thumbsup2

Cam and Howard - The pics are fabulous! You're lucky to have each other. Well... Howard, you're lucky to have Cam.

Jodi - Buy a coat and get out there and run you wuss!

Matt - Happy Birthday!! I hope you didn't let Cindy give you a big loogy infected kiss!:crazy2:

Hi Ho! to all my other Bot-a-bings out there.

I braved the cold this evening and ran 7 miles while the girlies were at dance. Well, I ran during the first shift of dance for DD's 5 and 12. Then I went to Costco for a Berry Sundae while DD8 was tapping away later!

I'm pretty sure I need to start thinking about a 12 step program for those damn sundaes. Just kidding. I can stop any time I want. Really. I mean it.
