~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Howdy Everyone: It's been kind of quiet around here. Not much news for me, I've been doing some 3 mile runs on the TM, but nothing too exciting.

It's really cold here, and I haven't felt like going through all the rigamarole to get all geared up for it.

Hello all! Thanks for all the birthday wishes.

I went for my first run since the goofy this morning. Only 4 miles, but they were COLD miles so that should count extra or something. 15 degrees here, brr.

Cam and Howard very nice wedding pictures!

Matt - I went out for the first time is weeks today myself. I also ran 4 miles and I think it was a balmy 20 degrees here. My thighs burned the whole time but it felt good to get outside for once.

Howard - I second Matt's sentiments.

So I was going to register for the National Half Marathon today and I noticed that the half costs $80 and the full costs $95. For only $15 more you "get" to run twice as far. It is because I'm crazy or just because I'm cheap that I'm actually thinking about running another marathon so soon. The National is on March 21st, so I've got 8 weeks or so to get back in shape.

Mike Are you planning on running the half or the full?

Cindy Is definitely running the half.

So what says the disboard? Am I crazy? Assuming I am crazy, does that mean I should run the full or the half?

Neither. You should just cheer Cindy & Mike on & suck down a few Guinesses (or is the plural Guini??).

I ran 5 miles today. Whoopeee! It was cold, too, but not as bad as previous days. Tomorrow it's supposed to hit 40!:beach: , so perhaps I'll go out run around some more.

Lou - Burning thighs? Dude, next time put some pants on :thumbsup2 .

Dave - I hear ya about the blase attitude toward running, blech!

Cam&Howard - Have you come down off your cloud yet?

Michelle - Do you find that you eat more berry sundaes once a month, too? Sheesh, go have a beer!!!

Canada - So RU coming up to Boston or not?? I'd love to come up for the day & watch that guy from the Winn Dixie you picked up run!:lmao:

Where's everyBotty else?

So I guess we're giving up on the whole relay thing, huh? Fine, fine, I really didn't want to be stuck in a van :drive: with you sweaty freaks :clown: anyway!

Don't know yet, it will either be Boston or Nashville, seeing that they are 6 days apart. We are leaning toward Boston 2010 and doing Nashville this year, mostly because all the hotels are sold out at marathontours.com and we don't want to pay $400-$500 a night for a hotel room.

Well, if you were my age, I would say you were crazy, but you are a youngster so go for it! :cool1:

Or drink beer!:thumbsup2

Oh, one more thing, who wants to go to Disney the third week in July?

Polynesian $220 per night!:thumbsup2

I ran today! (4 miles) Thankfully it is supposed to get warmer here. It was cold.

Mike – I’m all registered for the National Half. Are you in for the full/half?

Cam and Howard – Those pictures are amazing! Not only do the two of you look great, but the photography is fantastic! I love the shots that the photographer took.

Jen – Glad that you are feeling better. I wouldn’t say I’m 100%, but I’m no longer hacking up chunky stuff, so that is a vast improvement.

Dave - Are you registered for Pittsburgh?

Matt – do the half. I don’t want to get blamed for forcing you to run another marathon.

Is everyone going to Nashville?? May need to find a way to swing that one. I don’t want to be the only one left at home!

I don't want to give up on it forever! We should totally do a relay thing sometime.

Wow, that's crazy cheap (in relative terms).

The inauguration party was fun. Although there were mobs of people everywhere, we actually had no trouble getting in or out of the city via Metro. Lou – the pictures you saw were all taken from inside my office building. The first few of the security lines were from my personal office and the others were in other attorneys’ offices in the building.

Because of where the security check points were, we really couldn’t leave the building but we watched the swearing in on TV and then watched the beginning of the parade. We were watching the parade both on TV and on the street in front of us. Obama got back in the car a block or two away from where we were. I felt badly for all the people who had stood outside in the freezing cold all day only to see the car drive by. Most people on the streets left after the Presidential car passed and didn’t stay to see the rest of the parade. We stayed for some of it, but it was getting really dark and late. The parade actually started about 2 hours late.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You can't do it anyway, remember my dream?:rotfl:

Nashville might happen...RU game?? I think I'd just run the 1/2 & go for a PR :sad2:

I technically can't take any time off in April, but I could maybe get away with being out of the office on a Friday (it's a Saturday race, right?)

I would def. do the 1/2 and go for a PR.

Matt just e-mailed me and said he wants to do it.

Yeah, it's a Saturday race. I can't believe I'm actually considering doing this! I mean, it's OK to take a second mtg. out on your home so you can run marathons & such, right???:rotfl:

I edited my signature since I just registered for the National Half! I feel like I have direction now that I'm actually training for a race! I'm such a dork.

Jodi (and everyone else) - You could also come to DC for the National Marathon. The Cherry Blossoms will likely be out and I can be your official tour guide!

Can we just come sometime without having to run a marathon?:wave2:
