~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Besides, I got to stretch out my hamstrings while I unlaced my shoe. You are supposed to stretch after running!:cool1:
Yeah, I was very bad about that, and didn't stretch at all after the half. My quads were sore for two days afterwards. I need to be good about that.

Yeah, my thermometer just says "really freakin cold" I haven't even stepped foot outside. Working from the home office all day today.

Just realized that Nicole's 40th b-day will be on the Saturday that they run the 1/2 next year at WDW. I'm assuming Disney will still be doing the whole "celebrate something" thing this year so I guess I need to find a way to tap into that. I'll also have to come up with some forms of surprises for race weekend for her. I'll leave that up to you creative Bots out there. I'd just run with a birthday cake on my head or something.

Dave - You did a great job with your reporting. The DIS Unplugged cast really don't do the Disney races much justice. You need to spin off a WISH/DIS Bot Podcast of your own to tap into the masses that are on these threads. Make a business out of it and now you can right all your trips off....wait a minute...that's not a bad idea.

Anyone else sick? I've had a nasty head and chest cold basically since we landed at BWI on Monday night. You should see what I've been coughing up lately! (Actually, you shouldn't - it's pretty gross).
Luckily, it seems you did not infect anyone in our household (knock on my wooden head!). I hope you feel better soon.

Matt - Tying your chip up like that was kind of a dumba$$ move. Almost as bad as putting the marathon bib on for the half.

Well, it was a balmy 13 degrees (that's -10.5 Celsius to you Colleen) when I went out for a 6 miler this morning. It was breezy but at least the sun was shining. Made Philly (forever my benchmark for cold running) seem nice and toasty.

Anyone doing a LR out there? I woke up to negative temperatures this morning.

I thought about it for a second then I went outside. I'll be on the TM shortly. Here's hoping we get back to 32 degrees again sometime soon. I cannot imagine what it's like where you and Sara live.

Stay warm everyone!

Go EAGLES!!!

Wow....where is everybody?

No LRs for me this weekend. Got in 4 miles on the TM at 8:40mpm pace. I figure after football season it's time to go outside and find some time to run.

Speaking of football season. I was at a family party last night and the discussion amongst most of the men was an impromptu trip to a certain city on the gulf coast of Florida in a few weeks in the event something big happens today around 6:30PM. We'll see what happens today but I'm hoping I will be checking out airfares from PHL to FL later this evening.

Lou

Our Internet is finally fixed! (After the Fios guy was her for over an hour). I'm just sad we had to sit around the house all day waiting for him. (Verizon has horrible customer service the "window" we were given was "any time before 5".) I had wanted to go down to the Lincoln Memorial to see the concert. Oh, well, I'm watching it on HBO now and at least I am warm.

No running for me still. I really want to, but I'm still coughing up giant chunks of nasty stuff, so I've decided against it.

Cindy - Sorry you're still feeling rough. Also, sorry you missed the concert but glad your internet is fixed.

Is SideStitch or whatever his name is still too sore from rocking out of Guitar Hero to run?

Lou - I hope the game goes your way.

I got out for an 8 miler a little bit ago. I ended up going faster than I planned but Kathy and I just watched Spirit of the Marathon and I guess I was a bit excited.

Toodles for now.

Cindy: Glad your internet is back :) I'm with you on the hacking up nasty stuff-- I'm going on a bit over a week now myself (it hit me 2 days before the marathon). Hopefully you'll feel better soon. Is your office all nice and inauguration ready?

Lou: Sorry about the Eagles... Philia fans should be used to this type of stuff by now :confused3

Whooo Hooooo!!!!

Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Lou- I am sorry. I was rooting for the Eagles. I thought they were going to pull it off there in the end.

Morning all!

It's my birthday today, and I'm at work while Cindy is at home sleeping. How fair is that?

I was lazy again this weekend and didn't run at all. Unless I start running again soon, all of those plans for May marathons aren't very realistic. My leftover philly training was enough to carry me through the goofy, but it probably won't last until May.

Lou Sorry about Philly, but honestly I am sort of excited about the AZ. I don't think they have a chance against the Steelers, but they are such a sorry franchise that I'm happy that they even had a chance to get to the super bowl.

Jen Did you sign up for the goofy yet? Is your husband going to run it with you? You've got a whole year to train!

Jen - I am getting used to this stuff but after the Phillies I thought maybe...just maybe...the Eagles would do something.

Dave - My only consolation yesterday was that your Steelers knocked out the Ravens and I wouldn't have to deal with gloating from my family in Baltimore. Can we trade quarterbacks?

Matt - Are you and Cindy going to take in any of the inauguration festivities?

Working from home today although it's going to be tough to get much done. Kids are home from school and Nicole is working.

Lou

I'm not sure how many of you BOTs are into Facebook but AlohaJeff from the boards set up a WISH/Dis group on FB today. You can find the group here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=24152623077

I actually use FB more for work and networking then for play but I'm finding it to be a nice way to keep in touch with people. I kind of thought someone would do what Jeff did because the boards are kind of limited when it comes to how people can interact. Just figured I would toss this out as an FYI.

If enough of you guys are on FB I'll start a separate group for the DisBots.

Howard & Cam - Are you back?

Lou

Hi all!

Having a somewhat lazy day/working from home while Matt is at work.

No running - I still have this nasty chest cold thing going on.

Matt and I will be going to the Inaguration Party at my office tomorrow (along the parade route). Security check points will determine how much we are able to walk around outside and see what else is going on. Should be interesting if as many people show up as they are expecting.

Lou - Matt and I are on Facebook.

Greeting Bots!!

So, the Eagles....Lou, sorry about that, man. I thought they were going to pull it off in the end...I really wanted to see them in it.

Dave - Sorry, but I hope the Cardinals beat the Steelers (not that they have a chance :rotfl2: ). It's just, PITTS is always in the SB. Poor AZ is like the red-headed step-child of the NFL, it'd be nice to see them win.

Mike - 8 miles? Eeewww!!

Cindy - Chunky stuff from the chest? :thumbsup2 Nice, I'd love to see what kind of snot rockets that produces :hyper: . Enjoy yourself tomorrow @ the inauguration!

Matt - Happy Birthday!!!:cheer2: What'd ya get?? What'd ya get??:hyper:

Colleen - Has Jeff stopped asking about us?

Jen - I hope you feel better soon!

I ran 4 miles yesterday in the snow crap (3 loops around the house, very gingerly), and 6 miles today, which was a little bit too much. I developed a little twinge behind my knee after the 1/2 & it was just started to subside...not any more :rotfl2: :sad2: . Nothing major, I'll take tomorrow off & will do 3 or so on Weds.

So what's the dilly-o with Nashville:scratchin . ROAD TRIP!!!:drive:

Howard & Cam - Are you back?

Lou

Back in town... we took off from MCO yesterday as the Eagles were buying it. The Pilot announced the results after we got in the air. I missed almost three quarters of the Steeler's game in-flight but caught the 4th Quarter at home. My son, Andrew, taped it for me so I will watch the game soon. It is good to know the outcome though. :cheer2: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I am going to contact my family Doc tomorrow about seeing the Podiatrist for the PF issue. I want to get it fixed for good. It was not bothering my at all today, but it was an issue almost daily walking around WDW the days after our vow renewal.

No running here until this thing is figured out. Besides, our street could double as an Ice Rink. trace amounts of snow over 1/4" thick ice. I am sure you know what I am talking about. My next big race is the Caesar Rodney Half which Lou is planning to run with me. I might also get a non-BOT to come down to run it from New York (Jody/Honeibee's DH - Charlie). I kind of told him I'd run the Ridgeville Half if he does this one. :confused3

Cindy~ Feel better and try not to hit the Pres-Elect of VP (from the Great State of Delaware) with a lugie.

BTW, I am now on Facebook. Look me up by my name. In the mean time, I'll look for you.

Facebook?? WTH! I've got enough problems keeping up with the Bot thread. If I add one more computer group I will officially have to stop running since I won't have the time.

Dave - As a lifelong Browns fan, it's hard to admit being happy the Steelers won, but first and foremost, anybody but the Ravens.

Lou - I know you're disappointed but given how the Eagles season went, loosing the NFC championship game is better than a stick in the eye.

Howard - Welcome back and good luck with the docs.

ETA: I just saw your "Not Going Goofy in 2010" siggie. What's up with that? I thought you were automatic!

Jodi - Take it easy on the knee there chicky.

Here's my "dilly-o" on Nashville: Kathy and I want to do the CMM race on April 25th. Our only hold-up is that DD12 auditioned for the state chorus and if she makes it they have a competition that weekend. She finds out next week or the week after then we will know if we can pull the trigger.

Cindy and Matt - Have fun inaugurating. I'm not sure you could pay me enough money to deal with all that mess. But then again, I'm just a rube from the outer 'burbs so what would you expect.

What are you two planning for the National Marathon? Half? Full? Nothing?

Jen - Sorry to hear you are dealing with some nasty disease. Other than that, how are you feeling, post-marathon-wise?

:wave2: to everyone else out there.

I think I'll be a little lazy this week and take an extra day or two off from running. Then I guess I'll have to print off some sort of a plan for some yet to be determined race and get back at it.

Take it easy folks.

So what's the dilly-o with Nashville:scratchin . ROAD TRIP!!!:drive:

We (that's kinda weird saying that, adding DH in my plans now:rolleyes: you all must have really made an impression on him) are thinking about it.
PROS: It is only a 6 hour drive for us. :) It is also a Swim Meet free weekend!:thumbsup2
CON: It is pollen season in the south and that is a REALLY bad time for DH.:crazy2:
