Brunette-Yes it is unfortunate some people ruin it for everyone else. DD and her friends even made comments about it. The people also made a mess and left it all for the CMs to clean up. That is what upset us the most. No respect whatsoever.:headache:

That would make me cringe. I think I would have went to the FRONT DESK to complain about how these unwanted people ruined it for all the paying guest, and made a huge mess! UGH!!

Have you ever stayed at the Yacht Club? We stayed there in 2010 and it was GREAT! We had the bay view and the pool there is spectacular. Anyway, it's just a suggestion. We find it really nice and some what quiet (the Yacht Club that is). It's really close to the Swan and Dolphin. Those two resorts have great restaurants (Shula's and an Italian place). Both of these restaurants offer coupons on restaurant dot com also. :)

GREAT photos pixarmom!!

I think seeing Wishes over the Beach Club is one of the bigger secrets of the Boardwalk. It seems that nobody knows about it, including us until we actually stayed there!

For the noise, we were above Seashore Sweets, and didn't hear a peep late at night. No drunks passed out. :) but our room was not behind the magic door.

On the Villa side we had a room literally up against Jellyrolls (like a shared wall), and in the one we did have some noise issues, but we couldn't tell if it was from JR or Atlantic Dance next door. I think it was the latter actually.

Brunette-my boss stayed their with his family last year. I have heard good reviews for them. I think I would miss seeing the cast members if we didn't stay at the BWI. For the most part the guests are all nice. Every place will have nasty ones. I just don't like seeing the CMs being treated like that either. Who knows. Someday we may try it.

There isn't anything bad I can say about the Deluxe Room itself. However the only negative is the price. Obviously it will be more expensive then a Standard Club Level Room, although for my families dates this coming August it was $1700 more and that's with the 35% Bounceback rate.

I know you can get the 40% Militarty discounts for the Deluxe Resorts, but I would imagine the cost would still be the same when you factor in the total price after the discount.

Like I said before when reserving the Deluxe Room you take a chance of not staying on the 4th floor because you can end up on the 3rd floor, where as that doesn't happen with their Standard Club Level Rooms.

Finally they are also hard to reserve since they have a total of 10 Deluxe Rooms.
I posted yesterday that the Deluxe is available and would only be $75 more (before tax) per night for us.

I know that 5 rooms are on the 3rd and 5 are on the 4th, but I guess I still didn't understand (or I forgot) that other guests on other floors can gain access to the lounge so easily since it doesn't require a KTTW card either in the door or the elevator. I remembered about the elevator, but didn't recall there were stairs that are unlocked that anyone can get to the 4th floor and therefore the lounge, so easily. I can't think of another CL at WDW that doesn't require a KTTW card to either access the CL floor or the lounge. I understand that CL at BWI was an afterthought, so that explains the difference from all other resorts. But, I still don't understand why that "Innkeeper's door" doesn't require a KTTW card to get to the rooms and lounge:confused3. I'm not real happy about that and I know DH won't like that:worried:

Actually that's something I asked one of their Club Level Cast Members. Obviously the guests who would use the stairs from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor on the Club Level side of the hallway are those staying in the Deluxe Rooms on the 3rd floor. Now there is also a sign when you reach the door on the 4th floor saying access for Innkeeper's Club guests only. Although it's not open with a KTTW card so your right what's to stop anyone from going to the lounge that way if they don't stay Club Level? Well the Cast Member said they can tell who is staying Club Level and they can also ask what room those people are staying in.

Well, the CL CMs aren't on duty 24 hours a day, so there is no way they always monitor who is going through that door and/or into the lounge at all hours of the day. And, even when they do notice that someone is in the lounge who isn't a CL guest, they still don't seem to do anything about it.

Then ask those same ones what happened this last July when people from Principal Financial had one person staying and 8 people up in the lounge one evening. One guy was on his cell phone telling people they had a hospitality bar with food. Some of the cast members were not happy. Unfortunately they were told they could not cause problems that evening. The next day they sent a memo notifying the group it was not allowed again. There are always going to be people that try it unfortunately. I guess we have seen it both ways
Your experience reminds me of something that happened at the CR's Atrium Club. BWIF4L told the story about a large group of non-CL "guests" being invited up by one CL guest one night for apps. and drinks. I believe he said that he (or his parents?) asked why it was allowed and the lounge CMs said that they were not allowed to say anything to the CL guest who invited many non-CL guests to the lounge, unless it happens a second time. I believe BWIF4L said that the next day there was a sign up stating that only CL guests could use the lounge. Of course, BWIF4L can relay his own story more accurately than I can!

You and me both would be heading down to the BWI GM's office looking like this:furious:, if the CL CMs refuse to do anything about it. Why should we be paying for non-CL guests to enjoy CL amenities? This kind of stuff is what ends up raising prices and makes for disgruntled CMs and CL guests.

I stayed at the Regatta Club 8/10, too. I have to admit that it was very nice and I asked for a room w/o a connecting door, in a quiet location and I did get just that. We were next to a suite at the end of a hall so it was very quiet. However, I booked a GV and they upgraded us to WV so the balcony overlooked SAB which was VERY noisy. I would have preferred the GV I actually booked or of course, a straight on Crescent Lake view would be perfect! The room was very clean and nice and the lounge staff went out of their way to get Sprite Zero for me. When I asked if they had any and they didn't, later that day, a 12-pack was waiting for me in our room - very nice of them.

My only legitimate complaint about the YC is the fact that the lounge, at peak times, can be too small for the number of guests on the 5th floor and the suites on other floors. Obviously, that isn't the CMs fault and I thought they did the best they could to clear tables quickly and replenish food, but they can only move so fast. So it can be difficult, especially at peak times like early breakfast, to get a table and we don't like to bring food back to our room.

But, I have to come clean and admit that I only stayed one night at the YC. We were booked for 8, but DH was deployed and his favorite resort at that time was CR (now it's WL/CL) so I really missed it and ended up switching to the CR. DD loved the YC and I really can't say anything bad about it.

Does the Villa Side have any CL rooms or are all the CL rooms over on the Seashore Sweets side?

Does anyone know if the Deluxe rooms have larger balconies than the STD CL rooms have like at the BC and WL, for example?

No villa side they are all over the bakery & seashore sweets

The balconies are the same size

However don't ask me how, but the cast members seem to know who is and who isn't a registered CL guest. I know that this might not make you 100% happy, and sure there must be "lounge crashers", but I do not think this happens very often. In fact as another poster said, there is probably more abuse by CL guests inviting friends in for food/drink then people trying to sneak into the 4th floor.

I wasn't clear about what I said yesterday. The main Innkeeper's Club door only opens with your KTTW cards or a button the Cast Member has who works at the check-in desk located in that little area of the 4th floor.

That's exactly how it happened.

The Deluxe Rooms on the 3rd floor have bigger balconies then the ones on the 4th floor. However I don't mind the smaller balconies if I was to stay in a Deluxe Room since it means being closer to the lounge.

psac, thank you! We didn't know about the Wishes fireworks, either. Very exciting to see them!

sf bank, great F&W plans! My parents went in 2010 and really enjoyed it. Although they decided to save a bit and stay at CSR, against my advice. (I think they'll do it differently next time.) Have fun!!

Brunette, yes! We booked standard CL, and that's what we received! It was wonderful, but I'm definitely not getting my hopes up for that room again!

I forgot to mention that the only Standard Club Level Room I have stayed in was room #4223 and I would have to say the balcony in that room seemed a bit bigger then room #4225 which is the Deluxe Room we had on the 4th floor.

Well it is that time once again for DH and I to head to the BWI-CL. We check in tomorrow morning till the following Sunday.:cool1: This is trip #1 of 2012 with more to come throughout the year.:yay: If anyone from the boards will be staying there, please don't be shy and stop by and say hello. We will be taking more time outs during this trip as DH has a knee injury and will require surgery once we come back:(

Enjoy, I'm glad he'll enjoy resting up there.

For the club question, as was said, you need to use your key card to get through the door. But once the Innkeepers knew us, they always pressed the button and opened the magic door for us. We also stayed Club at the GF, and the concierges at BWI were SO much more friendly. We believed it when they said Welcome Home.

They have also done that for us, although that's if they weren't already helping someone else. So that's when we would insert one of our KTTW cards ourself and have the door open.

OK, so some Deluxe rooms are on the same floor as the lounge, but they ALL have a BW view? We just LOVE a lake or lagoon view, but I'm concerned about potential late-night noise from the BW. I've read that sometimes the BW has late-night partiers who have had too much to drink and they make quite a scene on the BW. Is this rare or a common thing at night on the BW? Or is the only noise you could really hear in your room from the entertainers who end at 10?

I've never stayed at BWI, so I appreciate anyone's thoughts on this:worship:

I have not stayed at BWI (YET!!!) but I can tell you a story about how they keep the noise down....

I was at a conference staying at the Dolphin and after a fabulous night at Downtown Disney, many of us did not want the night to end. So we ended up at the bar at the Dolphin until it closed. Still, we weren't tired so we thought we would take a walk around the Boardwalk. Well, we sat on a bench near Atlantic Dance Hall and we were being very quiet, just talking (not loud and drunk or even disorderly) and a very nice security guard came to tell us that the Boardwalk was closed. He was very nice about it but I still felt soooo silly (I'm a mother of two children, not some delinquent drunken youngster - well, at least not NOW :lmao:). I actually had no idea they 'closed' the walkway and such but that's how they keep the noise down.

So I told my DH I got kicked off the Boardwalk and he thinks it is hilarious being that I am all about Disney and the 'rules'.

...Keep our STD CL room or switch to the Deluxe room?

~We don't need the pull-out sofa (it's just DH, me and DD) and we don't have to have a BW view, but the 644 sq. ft. and the Wishes/Crescent Lake view would be very nice for our anniversary.

~My only concern with the Deluxe is that there's a 50% chance that our room wouldn't be on the 4th floor, which we'd prefer and there may be fewer of them without a connecting door than a STD CL room (we don't want a connecting door).

You've all made me feel much better about the BW noise situation, so I'm not going to fuss about that anymore. I appreciate everyone's thoughts:goodvibes

Thanks for answering my questions, jjohnson:)

If you are staying on the 4th floor Club Level when you get off the elevator you turn right and walk down the hall until you come to the desk for the Innkeepers Club. Thanks for clarifying this! The access situation is much better than I thought it was. You're right that there are probably more invited 'guests' than uninvited.

I wasn't clear about what I said yesterday. The main Innkeeper's Club door only opens with your KTTW cards or a button the Cast Member has who works at the check-in desk located in that little area of the 4th floor.

It's all clear to me now and all is well, so thanks!

How exciting! Have a great vacation and will you be reporting live from BWI?

We also stayed Club at the GF, and the concierges at BWI were SO much more friendly. We believed it when they said Welcome Home.
That's great to hear because just a few days ago I canceled our RPC reservation and we're sticking with just BWI/CL and WL/CL instead. Thank you for your lovely photos!

I have not stayed at BWI (YET!!!) but I can tell you a story about how they keep the noise down....

That is so interesting. I had no idea they actually closed the BW and have security patrols. I wonder what time they do this? But, now you have a BW violation on your permanent record!:rotfl:

Sure I can report live. If not, as soon as I get home you will find me back here on the boards.
