...Keep our STD CL room or switch to the Deluxe room?

~We don't need the pull-out sofa (it's just DH, me and DD) and we don't have to have a BW view, but the 644 sq. ft. and the Wishes/Crescent Lake view would be very nice for our anniversary.

~My only concern with the Deluxe is that there's a 50% chance that our room wouldn't be on the 4th floor, which we'd prefer and there may be fewer of them without a connecting door than a STD CL room (we don't want a connecting door).

You've all made me feel much better about the BW noise situation, so I'm not going to fuss about that anymore. I appreciate everyone's thoughts:goodvibes
Well one advantage for their Deluxe Rooms is know in advance what view you will get. Now even though that is not guaranteed with their Standard Club Level Rooms you would still have a better chance of getting the Garden/Epcot view since they have more Standard Club Level Rooms on that side.

Now I am not sure how important this is but another thing that comes with the Deluxe Rooms is a 2nd TV in the room with the pull-out sofa.

Also keep in mind that a Deluxe Room balcony on the 3rd floor is going to be bigger then one on the 4th floor.

Finally you mentioned before how staying on the 4th floor close to the lounge is important, well you are guaranteed to be on that floor with the Standard Club Level Rooms since they are only located up there.

Well it is that time once again for DH and I to head to the BWI-CL. We check in tomorrow morning till the following Sunday.:cool1: This is trip #1 of 2012 with more to come throughout the year.:yay: If anyone from the boards will be staying there, please don't be shy and stop by and say hello. We will be taking more time outs during this trip as DH has a knee injury and will require surgery once we come back:(

nascargirl - I am jealous that you will be there tomorrow..........have a safe and wonderful trip.

I have not stayed at BWI (YET!!!) but I can tell you a story about how they keep the noise down....

I was at a conference staying at the Dolphin and after a fabulous night at Downtown Disney, many of us did not want the night to end. So we ended up at the bar at the Dolphin until it closed. Still, we weren't tired so we thought we would take a walk around the Boardwalk. Well, we sat on a bench near Atlantic Dance Hall and we were being very quiet, just talking (not loud and drunk or even disorderly) and a very nice security guard came to tell us that the Boardwalk was closed. He was very nice about it but I still felt soooo silly (I'm a mother of two children, not some delinquent drunken youngster - well, at least not NOW :lmao:). I actually had no idea they 'closed' the walkway and such but that's how they keep the noise down.

So I told my DH I got kicked off the Boardwalk and he thinks it is hilarious being that I am all about Disney and the 'rules'.

Tinkerbellie16 - Thanks for passing along your story, I have to relate it to DH one of his concerns about staying at BW was he worried about the noise late in the evenings.

KOOK - all I can say is I love the Deluxe Room after seeing the pics on here yesterday but if being on the same floor as the lounge and behind the door is really important to you and DH I doubt I would switch.

sjs314-Thank you. We are looking forward to hanging with our CM buddies when they are not working.:lovestruc

All good points - thanks for your thoughts.

You (or someone else) wouldn't happen to know how many or which of the 10 Deluxe rooms don't have connecting doors? I wish there was a room type/number map of BWI like DisneyZone has for BC/YC so I wouldn't have to keep bothering you guys with these silly questions:flower3:

You're right, I have to figure out what is most important to me. DH even said it didn't matter to him to be on the 4th floor if having the Deluxe room was important to me and would make me happier. He's a resort/room type changer enabler, which also means it makes it harder for me to make these decisions:upsidedow. Since I canceled the RPC Deluxe room, I feel like I should try BWI's. I thought you were once booked in the Deluxe room?

My DH will voice his thoughts but in the end will say do what you think is best or do what you want to do and that usually makes me not do anything, I do not want to make a change that he is not 100% on board with and end up feeling selfish...I think he uses reverse physcology to get what he wants.

I was never booked in the Deluxe room and it's just not in the cards financially this trip :sad2:

That is so interesting. I had no idea they actually closed the BW and have security patrols. I wonder what time they do this? But, now you have a BW violation on your permanent record!:rotfl:

I'm glad I could help. BTW, I haven't told ANY DISers that story because I was a bit embarrassed at my faux pas! Ok, more than a bit! But glad it could help :thumbsup2

And of course, I can attest that Disney is NOTHING like Vegas at 2 in the morning :rotfl:

nascargirl....hope you have another wonderful trip.

I very much miss talking with Anita...don't know when I will be able to make it back.

psac....still loving all your photos!

I honestly don't know the answer to that.

Now if I had to guess I would assume that 4229 and 4227 are two Deluxe Rooms with connecting doors since they are right next to each other. Now the funny thing is I can't remember if 4225 had a connecting door even though I stayed in that Deluxe Room, since it's right next to 4223 which is a Standard Club Level Room.

Maybe you can e-mail the Boardwalk Inn IPO to find out that specifc answer, so is that something you thought of doing?

I posted yesterday that the Deluxe is available and would only be $75 more (before tax) per night for us.

You and me both would be heading down to the BWI GM's office looking like this:furious:, if the CL CMs refuse to do anything about it. Why should we be paying for non-CL guests to enjoy CL amenities? This kind of stuff is what ends up raising prices and makes for disgruntled CMs and CL guests.

I stayed at the Regatta Club 8/10, too. I have to admit that it was very nice and I asked for a room w/o a connecting door, in a quiet location and I did get just that. We were next to a suite at the end of a hall so it was very quiet. However, I booked a GV and they upgraded us to WV so the balcony overlooked SAB which was VERY noisy. I would have preferred the GV I actually booked or of course, a straight on Crescent Lake view would be perfect! The room was very clean and nice and the lounge staff went out of their way to get Sprite Zero for me. When I asked if they had any and they didn't, later that day, a 12-pack was waiting for me in our room - very nice of them
.

My only legitimate complaint about the YC is the fact that the lounge, at peak times, can be too small for the number of guests on the 5th floor and the suites on other floors. Obviously, that isn't the CMs fault and I thought they did the best they could to clear tables quickly and replenish food, but they can only move so fast. So it can be difficult, especially at peak times like early breakfast, to get a table and we don't like to bring food back to our room.

But, I have to come clean and admit that I only stayed one night at the YC. We were booked for 8, but DH was deployed and his favorite resort at that time was CR (now it's WL/CL) so I really missed it and ended up switching to the CR. DD loved the YC and I really can't say anything bad about it.

Hi KOOK! Love reading your indepth posts! I really enjoy them. So, overall you like the Boardwalk much better than the Yacht Club? We usually don't stay CL, I'm wondering if I should give the BWI a try? I'm always up for something different.

Brunette, yes! We booked standard CL, and that's what we received! It was wonderful, but I'm definitely not getting my hopes up for that room again!

Hi! Thanks so much for your response!! Let me ask a dumb question. LOL! How do you like the CL at the BWI? Do you have any pictures of the offerings there? How does it compare to the GF? Thanks so much! LOVE THE PICS! :)

We just got back from our stay; we were in 3227 and my aunt and uncle were in 3229. They did not have connecting doors. These rooms are on the third floor, but we didn't mind the walk to the club lounge. The balconies are nice and big.

I honestly don't know the answer to that.

We were there in December, and on my first day there, I saw really cute luggage tags in Dundie's Sundries (the small gift shop off the lobby). They had Mickey and Minnie in one of those bicycles built for four. I think they were about $7.95. By the time I was doing my shopping on the last day they had sold out (but would probably get more in the next day--after I had left!). The more I think about it, I would like to call and order a few from the mail order service. Could someone tell me if they are still in the store, and if so, what is the SKU number? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Wow they sold out! Last month when I was there from 12/08/11 - 12/22/11 I got the Boardwalk luggage tag the day I arrived and I remember they had a lot in stock.

I even got myself a Boardwalk jacket and key chain. I would have also got that shirt which had the same design as the luggage tag, however I found out that was only made in Womens sizes.

There's never a dumb question on this thread, but I may have a dumb answer! This August will be our first stay at BWI and the RPC room that I canceled would have been our first GF stay, so I'm sorry that I can't compare the two. I can only compare the WL, CR and YC CLs.

I've read consistently glowing reports of the CL CMs at BWI and fairly good reviews of the RPC CMs and food so that's why I had them both booked for our anniversary trip. I canceled our RPC Deluxe room mostly due to the DVC construction which is now underway there and how that would obstruct our lagoon view.

There are Innkeeper's Club photos on AllEars and I believe somewhere in this ancient thread. I don't think that CRRF4L posted any photos from his December trip, but the food does come from Kouzzina's.

Does anyone else think that we need a new and improved home? This thread was created TEN YEARS AGO and the first page hasn't even been updated SINCE 2005:sad2:

Since I booked our 2012 BWI stay last year, I've been asking many questions here and you have all been so kind to try and answer them. But, I've been thinking that we could really use an updated first page with photos and more current general resort information.

I created the WL/VWL thread this past summer (and Waldorf Astoria/Hilton Bonnet Creek back in '09) and I'd be happy to put something together that would be up-to-date if you guys think that would be helpful.

I do have some of my own BWI photos from August '11 and I would also use the wonderful photos that have been posted here and give attribution to the photographers. There is a lot of BWI info. out there and on this thread, it just needs to be found and organized so that it's useful to anyone seeking information and/or photos. I would also add many more photos after our August '12 stay.

What do you all think? I'd love to read your suggestions and thoughts on this.

KOOK - Just a couple of days ago I went back to page one of this thread and could not believe it was started in 2002 and thought someone needs to make a new thread. I have read so many of the resort threads from beginning to end...... CR, BC, WL and a couple more with each new resort consideration and I totally agree it is time for a new BW thread. You did a wonderful job on the other threads KOOK, if your up to the challenge I say "Go For It!"
I think the only other resort that I have researched that has a thread as old as this one is All Star Sports.

HI! Thanks so much for your input! You always have great information. I had no idea they were constructing a DVC near the Grand Floridian. Good to know. I will also check out ALL EARS. thanks again! Brunette:goodvibes

Hi! I think you do an outstanding job posting pictures and information pertaining to the WL. I SAY YES! I think most people would love to see an updated thread regarding the Boardwalk! Things change and this thread is nearly 10 years old! Would love to see a new and fresh thread about all things Boardwalk! :goodvibes Brunette

Hey there CR Resort Fan 4 Life!

Do you have any pictures you want to share from your most recent trip at the Boardwalk Inn? Would love to see them. I also would like to know about the offerings at the CL to if possible.

Thanks!
Brunette

Do all of the Villa Studio rooms have daybeds? We stayed in one in 2006 and it had one. We'll be back in February and want to make sure we have a room with a daybed.
