DarlingDumbo yes it is possible. We always book a standard club level room and have been lucky a few times to receive this request.:cool1:

Thanks for the info. I too was looking for the answer to this question. We are taking my parents on their 1st ever WDW trip next year and booked standard club level. I totally forgot about putting in a room request when I booked. They would be tickled pink to have a cool view. The CM helping me though noticed that our DS's birthday is only about a week after our trip and put it in the reservation that we will celebrate his birthday. :cool1: I thought that was awesome of him to notice that.

Hi everyone.
Just booked BWI for DH and I 20th anniversary. We'll be staying from 10/20 - 10/25. We are really looking forward to staying here, the pictures look wonderful. Looking forward to learning more.

I'll be staying in a concierge deluxe room for 5 nights starting October 2. Will I be in a refurbished room?

I thought these rooms were supposed to be done first, but someone answered earlier that none of the refurb. rooms are open yet. I would love to know when they are supposed to be done. We aren't there until after you are, though; we'll be there in December.

I've been trying to find out info on the CL rooms and from what I've heard they should be open now. Someone said something about them being completed early August. I'm just waiting to hear that someone has stayed there and has pictures of the new rooms.

We'll be there in December too, I hope the refurb will be completed for the entire resort by then. If they started in late July, they should be done by October, wouldn't you think?

:confused3

Couldn't seem to find this info anywhere - do all rooms at the boardwalk inn have balconies or patios?

Thanks, Karen

I think most do but maybe not all. There are different balcony sizes - some are standing room only. If you want a larger balcony make sure you put that in your request. Also, some of the balconies have awnings and some do not. We did not have an awning so it was quite sunny.

I'm getting very excited for our stay at BWV! We've never stayed there before and I'm really looking forward to walks on the boardwalk.

If I get a first floor room in the villas, can we just run out of our patio onto the pool area (if we have a pool view)?

Anyone have pics of a first floor luna park pool view?

This December will be my first time at the Boardwalk... ok, my first time at a Deluxe period :cool1:

I've paid for a boardwalk/water view room but I'm not guaranteed a boardwalk view? That's what I want and it’s pretty much the main reason that I want to stay at the Boardwalk. This may be my only chance of ever staying there and I'd hate to be disappointed. I'm going to be there Christmas week so I doubt I'd be able to beg and plead with the CM's to switch me to another room if I don't get a boardwalk view.

I spoke to the reservations CM on the phone the other day and she said that she was noting it on my reservation that I wanted a boardwalk view. What else should I do? Should I fax in a room request? I don’t have a particular room number in mind – never been there before – I just want my full boardwalk view room.

I request it with Dreams Unlimited and the IPO office. I always tell them I know it is not a guarantee but if possible it would be greatly appreciated. I don't expect it when we check in but when it happens, it is a nice surprise.:goodvibes

What are Dreams Unlimited and IPO? Are they unique departments that you put requests in with or do you have to be a club member to access them? Do they have a different phone number than just calling Disney? I don't necessarily care about the Boardwalk view, but I'd like a view of Epcot (France particularly). Do you think that request could be met with a standard view?

Thanks

Hello! Just some quick answers to your questions above.

Dreams Unlimited is a travel agency that books Disney vacation and have vacation planners to help with your room, tickets and dining reservations. IPO is the Itinerary Planning Office that works on the concierge floor of a resort. You have to pay for a concierge room or suite to take advantage of their services which are room requests, dining reservations and spa appointments and so much more.

In my opinion if you want to request a certain room, add it to your reservation. If you booked directly with Disney, call them and have it noted on your reservation that you want a view of EPCOT. It is not guarunteed, but it doesn't hurt. I'm not sure what "standard" views are at the BWI, but I do know it is a great resort!

I hope my information has helped!! :)

Does anyone know if the 1 & 2 bedroom suites will also be refurbished during the room renovation project that is currently underway?:confused3

Does anyone have any room numbers to suggest for the Boardwalk Villa's? I love to hear about them also. Pictures would be a plus. :worship:

Thanks that is a big help. I asked for more room numbers on the next pages. In case that one is taken. Some pics would be great. Got any?
We just stayed in 3065 (a studio) and really enjoyed it. It's the first room on the Boardwalk side of the hotel from the elevators and has a view of the area in front of the hotel lobby going down to the Boardwalk and the lake. Though it's technically listed as a "Garden" view, it gave us a decent view of the Boardwalk and the lake, which is what we were hoping for (rooms that are right on the Boardwalk itself tend to get snatched up by DVC members who are given, reasonably enough, priority in room requests for the Villas). We thoroughly enjoyed the view and only had noise late on a Saturday night as a group of people seemed to be gathering right below us, having a high ol' time. We never got noise from the elevators. And being that close to the elevator made it a 2 minute walk to the buses in the morning (and only about 12 minutes to DHS when walking through the back of the pool area to the walkway to DHS). I mention this because you can be far enough away from the elevators at this place to add at least 5 minutes onto your walk to anywhere.

The only physical flaw we noted with the room was the inside door knob of the bathroom had its cover (is that what it's called? - you know the piece that conceals the hole you have to make in the door to install it) dangling off a bit. If you can live with that and the other stuff sounds right, I would highly recommend this room.

Not sure if you could see Illuminations from here, though. We were always either at another park or in Epcot for Illuminations itself around 9!

We were at the Chicago Area's "Doorway To Dreams" vacation club place tonight and I asked the CM that very question! He had no idea. Or, so he said. He also refused to recognize the Contemporary as a DVC possibility and that's rediculous! :rotfl:
My DIS mom said..."Oh, Okay..." while my children disorganized all the towels in the fake AKV bathroom. Quite fun.:goodvibes

I'd love to hear this too. :worship: We're going to try our luck and requst a BW view... I know our chances are slim, but then my second choice would be a Luna Park 1st floor. I still want to know if I can walk out of the patio onto the pool grounds. I can't tell from pictures.:cutie:
Thanks!:goodvibes
