We just returned from our trip and I wanted to add a quick update here. I will add photos later. The newly renovated rooms (standard rooms) are being used and are beautiful! We got one. 5th floor What a view, too! We could see boardwalk, MK fireworks, and the new couch is a twin sized pull out couch. DH used it all week. The bed linens and pillows are TO DIE FOR.

I was a little disappointed in the pool area...I am hoping that once they finish the rooms they will reno. that. There is a need for a changing area. I was told they have it at one of the moderates. The bathrooms near the main pool were a little icky...broken locks on doors, etc... But my kids loved it.

mally29-do you remember what room number you were in? I am leaving Monday and have noted on my ressie upper room floor (standard room), newly renovated, but your room sounds exactly what I want!:thumbsup2

Does anyone have the current IPO email address for BWI? (and do they share with Yacht & Beach Club?)

TIA! :goodvibes

Our room number was 5281...it was a beautiful room in a wonderful spot! Pretty centralized, for the most part, and a great view.

Here are some photos from room 5281 at Boardwalk. These are the new renovated rooms, and where we stayed last week when we went to the Boardwalk. I wish I was back...

That sofa opens out to a full sized twin mattress. It's not as comfy as the beds, but it is big enough for an adult. The cushions fold under and the mattress is actually on the back.

Mally29, this is a lovely room. What category is it? I have heard that they have trundle beds. I am wondering if the trundles were replaced with these couches?

This was a strandard room with the new renovations. I wasn't aware of any trundle beds, but the old style rooms had a very small daybed, big enough for a 7-10 year old or so. The new ones are a regular twin pull out sofa, big enough for an adult. My dh slept in it all week.

That rooms looks great for a standard view. Hope we get as lucky - we're checking in 10/22-10/27. It's our first time at BWI.

In December I'm hoping to have a Boardwalk view room (fingers crosses as that's one of the primary reasons that I want to stay at the Boardwalk.) I'm assuming that those rooms will not be refurbished?

We just made the switch and I know nothing about BWI and I'm hoping to learn everything I need to here.

What should I be requesting? I asked for a higher floor and a renovated room, anything else? Luckily I have a couple months to figure out the lay of the land :)

I spoke with a manager at BWI today. He reports that all rooms on floors 2-5 have been completely refurbished.

Currently, they're finishing up the rooms on floor 1 and refinishing the wood floor in the lobby. (He mentioned that all lobby work is completed overnight.)

All guest rooms are scheduled to be finished by the 3rd week in October.

There is a chance that the floor work in the lobby may not be finished until November.

Please note there is no work being done at the Boardwalk Villas...

I've never stayed there either but we'll be there at that time too! Congrats!

Just back from first BWI stay last night---the place is wonderful, fantastic, terrific..well, you get the idea! Beautiful--and you just can't beat the location...even my 80 year old mother had an easy walk to EPCOT. And we enjoyed every bit of the entertainment on the Boardwalk at night--didn't realize there was so much! BWI is now one of our favorites.

The new rooms are absolutely beautiful. Does anyone have a picture of the renovated Deluxe rooms?

Jackemail, I see you booked a split stay for next year. We also were at Boardwalk Inn all last week and booked the BWI for next year! We never thought of a split stay......and hubby has been intrigued with Poly, but we really loved the location and convenience and entertainment at BWI? Can you tell me which is your favorite? POLY or BWI and whY? I have read that some of the rooms at Poly are in need of renovation? Where was your room at BWI?
