The Bachelor 17 Sean Lowe NO SPOILERS

I think that's a little harsh. Sean is 29, Ashlee 32 (plus 3), Lindsey 24 (minus 5) and Cathererine 26 (minus 3). Those are all reasonable age differences for relationships.

I think Ashlee harps on the abandonment issue a bit toooooo much but I am thinking maybe just the producers keep asking her those questions and leading her interviews in that direction. She has made it very clear she loves and appreciates her adoptive parents and that did happen at age 6 so she has had many stable years with them and yes I understand that doesn't erase her earlier memories and fears.

I think you are probably right. The producers really do that--I know they did it to my friend. You would not believe what they said to her--they are like hounds! To get you there, they are nice but once they get you out there, they turn on you. Surprise! (Not really!)

I doubt this girl is as hung up on abandonment as they lead us to believe.

What was the girl's name from last time that was on this time? She was from TN...anyway, she made the comment that the ***** model girl that we all loved to hate last time was not like the show portrayed her. Of course, one must wonder if she wasn't such a evil woman, where'd they get the material from? Oh well, I do not understand it all. ;)

:lmao:And you think Sean is the one who came up with those dates?? No, the idiot producers are the ones who do. It's probably written into the Bachelor's contract. Look at the corny date cards too, no way Sean wrote those out.

One wonders how it all happens because it does not happen in RL as it happens as we see it on TV but that's probably all I can say. I knew it was scripted and edited to death but I had no idea to what extent. :crazy2:

The odds of finding love under these circumstances is slim to none. Honestly, it has just turned into another drama show instead of what it half way started out to be. To not give away who someone is falling in love with, one must act "in love" with too many. And there's where it takes a horrible turn.

I'm thinking he will pick Catherine. I just think there is a connection there that I do not see with the other girl.

All that said, I wish I could share some things here but I seriously doubt I'm "allowed" to know them. I guess it is like seeing Mickey Mouse w/o his head on.

First of all, I am really surprised that everyone is thinking Ashley was/is crazy or intense or needy. I feel that was all editing and that she went on about the ring because he totally led her on.

When she left, I thought "Good for her", finally someone not begging and crying and leaving with their dignity intact. I feel he must have totally led her on for her to act like that. I wish she hadn't spoken to him at all.

I have no hope for the last two.

ITA. She was mad he led her on (which I believe the producers require him to say those things). She didn't cry and beg him like Desiree did last week. She was angry and hurt and put her guard up, and after what she has been through in her life she had the right to be mad and angry and hurt. She doesn't seem crazy to me. She seems like she was genuinely in love with the guy, as much as you can be in love with someone in such a short time, and was hurt that he didn't feel the same way. There have been many people on this show before I thought were genuinely crazy but Ashley was not one of them. I hope she finds a nice guy to settle down with who has nothing to do with The Bachelor franchise.

FWIW
I've been reading his sister's blog and she said that HE gets to pick all the things to do on the dates. He wants someone adventurous. Now, to me it seems like a test..."if you do this, you'll stay in the running"
I don't see what's so wrong with that. If he really wants a woman who is adventurous how else will he find out if she is or not?

I didn't feel Ashlee would challenge him at all...she is just a honey do girl and seems to be willing to wait on someone hand anf foot just so they don't "abandon" her.

I have to disagree with that.

This is the girl who openly demanded a 'Cushion Ring - with diamonds all around...'.

This is the girl who walked off on him when he asked if she would let him explain....

Methinks a lot of people misunderstand girls like Ashley and their issues.

I feel bad for AshLee because she has a lot of issues...loved her exit. Sean was really tasteless by choosing to say, "it was you from the beginning"....,like that was supposed to make her feel any better? The winner of this season will actually be the loser, imo, I think these girls are better off without him.

What??? :confused3 AshLee isn't 6 years old anymore. She's an adult who PUT HERSELF into this situation. Unless she's never see The Bachelor before, she knew what the show entailed. But, some deep dark, "Snow White" type wound in which a prince comes rescues her form her life of having been abandoned, was greater than her common sense - until she was dumped. Then she saw Sean & the show for what they are: a big put on.

Now, I do think Sean said more than most of the Bachelors. Most just say, "I really care for you. I have a lot of feelings for you," and that's the extent of it.

But, Sean, the great insurance salesman that he is, had to be sure t close the deal, and over-said stuff to ALL 3 women: "I can see you as my wife. I can see a future with you."

Who knows, maybe he accidentally said it to Lindsay first as she will be the one. Then the producers made him say it to the other two also. But in mastering Salesmanship 101, sincerity is the first thing they learn. How to B.S. and come across totally sincere and sell what they are saying. And Sean definitely has that down. :sad2:

BTW, going back to the hometown dates episode, and Sean having a talk with her brother. In the Sean Tells All, they actually showed a clip where Sean & Des' brother met early on and the brother said how much he liked Sean and thought he & Des would be great together.

Cut to the scene later, when the brother pulls Sean away to have a private chat again and he's telling Sean what a player he thinks Sean is. Sean is looking down and NODDING, waiting for him to finish.

WHY WAS SEAN NODDING??????

What the heck was THAT about??? :confused3 Anyone else notice that body language? He was supposedly blindsided. Sean wasn't staring at him all confused, like "Whoa, bud, earlier you were fine with us, and now you are pulling a 180. What is going on here???"

And the brother is smiling the whole time he's saying all of that. Then he'd run out of words and stop talking completely. And instead of defending himself, Sean would just patiently sit there until he'd come up with something else to say.

When Sean thought that actor (during the practical joke) who was pretending to be Des' ex-boyfriend was disrespecting Des, he was ready to get in a tussle with him. But, he's being called a player by the brother, and he just sits patiently nodding through it, waiting for him to finish??? :confused3

Now, the brother could be an abusive controller. They often do flip sides as one of their tactics, to keep everyone on pins & needles. And they do sadistically enjoy doing that.

But, I also wonder if that wasn't one of the situations Buckalew said the producers set up so they'd have extra footage to choose from. :scratchin And if this talk was supposed to have happened rather "privately" between them, how did the rest of the family know it happened so they could uncomfortably pretend to ignore it at the dinner table? Were they all staring out the window, eavesdropping? :confused3

It's the Women Tell All episode tonight! :hyper:

BTW, here is an interview that someone else posted on another thread, with Penn Teller, about his stint on the reality TV show, Celebrity Apprentice, with Donald Trump. He said that particular show is NOT scripted, BUT pay attention to the part about how there are certainly a LOT of 25 yr old production assistants around, trying to get all of them to react in certain ways so they can film those reactions. Also, that people who know HOW to work reality shows just to get reactions are well placed on the show, i.e. Clay Aiken & Aubrey O'Dea.

In The Bachelor show's case the equivalent are: Tierra, Michelle Money, Courtney, Vampire Girl, Trisha, and on Ashley's show: Bentley.

I think Penn, even joking around about his experiences, is very close to the truth as to what happens on The Bachelor too.

And it sounds "amazingly" ;) similar to what Buckalew couldn't describe to us without getting her friend on the show in trouble. (I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement once for working a catering gig for a very famous Hollywood person, that my cousin who does the booking for, let me work. I practically say that I would pay 13 times the amount in estimated damages, into the millions if I talked about what happened at that event.) So I can see the girls on The Bachelor, not being able to publicly tell what really happens on the show, no matter what they say tonight.

Here is the Penn Teller clip:

No one else is watching???

Tierra's engagement ring is bigger than what even Neil Lane sells for engagement rings. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Nothing really new here with Tierra, Robin had it right when she called her delusional. Who really thought she would come out and admit she was acting crazy. I'm looking forward to Ashlee's confrontation with Sean. Desiree or Sara would be my pick for the next Bachelorette, they seem the most sincere.

It looked really classy especially with that big 'ol tattoo underneath on her finger... ;)

i am finally here.

my youngest one has been really sick. we've all had the stomach bug, but he is having a really tough time shaking it. anyway, i've been staying with him until he falls asleep at night. so, i missed the first hour (i'm DVRing it).

....I know that I'm late for the party, but they should have BLASTED Tierra....in my opinion, they should have come with 'guns ablazin'....gurl-fren really IS delusional.

Maybe it's cz:rolleyes1

I think that is for sure. And I also believe it's a hoax.

I felt bad for Sara, must have been hard for her to relive those vulnerable moments but I thought she stayed classy and she has continually impressed me. I like that she said she doesn't want to talk about her arm but she feels like she has to. I noticed on the show that she kept dwelling on it but I understand why she did. It does make her different than the other girls. I'm glad she has come to a place of self acceptance, I hope she continues to grow.

Des is adorable, I loved the way she handled herself. They are totally setting her up to be the next bachelorette and I think she will make a great one.
