THE AMAZING RACE 15, ~Season Premier~ 09/27/09 pg 64!

I loved last night's show, but it wasn't as good as the cheese - I'm still chuckling about that.

The flight attendants need to go and I found Mel/Mike to be very endearing last night. The dad (is that Mike or Mel?) seemed to be such a sweet man.

I loved the father/son team last night. So glad the wind stopped for them. But not sure how he is going to do the rest of the race if he has to out run someone. And trying to get in the gate to Phil was a laugh.

The blondes have to go. They remind of the blonde last year digging in the sand because they didn't read the clue right.

We had beer and brats during last nights show...German chocolate cake for dessert! What am I going to make next week...they are going to Romania :confused3

Um...well...what with Dracula and all...I have a recipe for "bloodbath punch" (no actual blood involved :teeth: )

OMG! The gate was too funny. :lmao:

First of all ... last night's menu:

Warm Bavarian Cabbage
Spätzle with mushrooms and swiss cheese
Bratwust
Celebrator Doppelbock (Bavaria)
Hacker-Pschorr Weiss Beer (Munich)
Stiegl Pilsner (Austria)

I was going to do something more interesting than brats, but I ran out of time and energy. I did make the cabbage and spätzle from scratch. I meant to buy some of those big frozen pretzels, but forgot about them when I went to the store. I know one thing ... we won't be drinking so much beer next time!

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, but the two flight attendants are from Southwest. When we flew back from WDW last month, one of them was working our flight.

agnes!

Very cool.

Unless I missed something last week I didn't see him treating her badly at all. She seems to be overly emotional about everything. That doesn't equate to him being an abusive husband.

This is what I was seeing as well. There have been abusive couples on this show but I don't think this was one of them.

I believe he said that she had come from a very hard homelife. Maybe there was some abuse as a child. He said that one of the things that he loved about her was that she always tried to look on the bright side, to look for the good in situations (or something to that effect).

My husband and I don't argue and rarely disagree. But I think that something as stressful as competing in AR could make the best of us grouches.

Sorry to see the hill billies go. I like to see the underdogs do well. I agree that I didn't see any abusiveness there. It seemed to me like he was a HUGE fan of the show and Linda was upset about letting him down. His interview made it sound like he knew running the race with Linda would hurt his chances but he wanted to experience it with her. I thought it was really sweet.

Mel/Mike are growing on me. I like the mom/son team and the couple as well. The blondes annoy me to no end, which means they will probably stick around for awhile.

I guess I'm the only one who was happy to see Steve and Linda go. Not because of their interaction but because it was painful to watch them race. They were totally unprepared for the challenge.

Did anyone else notice that the top three teams from last week arrived at the finish line within 3 minutes of each other? Margie and Luke arrived at 2:56, Tammy and Victor at 2:57 and Mark and Michael at 2:29. No wonder Mark and Micheal were so full of themselves! I think they are my favorite team but I was yelling at the TV: "Even the hicks thought about borrowing a cell phone!!!".

We were so glad to see them go as well - not because they are bad people, but because they were so unprepared. I don't think they ever stood a chance.

And the blondes, ugh seriously with the schlepping the wood??? :rotfl2:

I think the big problem this week with the blondes was that they were alone and it was dark. They rely heavily in working the "blonde charm" to get the locals to help them.

I thought the hillbillies were cute in the exit interview but I wasn't surprised to see them go.

I was glad the hicks are out - Linda just wasn't up to the task of Racing in general.

I do not care for Mel/Mike.
I do not care for the dwarves, either.

The blondes could become another freakin' Dandrew, but I am hoping they do not.

The sisters are tiresome.

Redheads = OK so far.

I do like the Asian sibs, the middle-aged marrieds, Amander & Chris, and Luke & Mom.

I guess there really isn't a team I LOATHE this time out, but I definitely like some more than others.

lol Yeah, watching the flight attendants carry around the wooden board was hilarious. Although I'm curious to know who's barn they stumbled into? Did some farmer wake up the next morning to find some piece of his barn missing? :rotfl:

And with respect to the whole walk down the hill vs wait for the wind to die down drama.. I wonder how much time actually elapsed while the father/son team waited for the wind to die down. I know TAR won't ever post that stuff because it dilutes the drama, but I do wonder just how long they had to wait. I know they finished this leg in fifth, does anyone remember what place they were in when they got to the roadblock?

I'd guess about an hour. They seemed to be in about the same position after that from where they started.

ITA w/robin. I do not think they were prepared at all. :headache: And it was painful to watch them as they got too upset too quickly. Linda crying allot was hard to see over and over again.

MY FAV is Margie & Luke. Luke did NOT like that pie contest and I think they ended up throwing the most pies at each other.

:lmao: The blondes carrying that board around!!! Every season, every season there are so many times when couples do NOT read the clues :headache: and then it totally messes them up...they were LUCKY this time.

I was not overly excited about this episode....

They were cute. The husband was carrying Linda though and it was so painful to watch her.

My favorites as well. I have time to change my mind as I get to know them though ;)

OMG! That sounds delicious. I would love your recipe for Spaetzle w/ mushrooms and swiss cheese.
