Ok Tyler or EJ (whoever gets here first!!),

I have a bus question...how early do the buses start running? We have PS at Cindy's Breakfast at 8:30 on the Monday after we arrive. They told us to be there about 15 minutes early. Should we just drive over ouselves that early or can we catch a bus over to MK?

Sorry for all the questions, but I hate not knowing what to do...

Cya Soon!!!

WestJones-

Not Tyler or EJ, But I can answer your question.

You can check in before 3PM, they may not have a room for you yet though. If there is not room available, and you want to swim, you can check your luggage, and hang out until the room is ready -- and yes, there are changing rooms by the pool.

Hope this helps!

Michael

Thanks Michael!
That is good news. We will only be there 2 nights, and so the day we check in is the only day we have that the girls can swim.
Thanks again!
DJ

i have a luggage related question also...if you do get there early, room isn't ready ect. do you have to "ask" them to move your luggage to your room or do they just do it and does that apply to all disney resorts? and what about tipping for it ...who and when and how much
thanks

Tyler,
We have a 9 month old and a 4 year old. We are staying at POP and will be visiting the Magic Kingdom only.

As for transportation if we take the Shuttle Bus we will need car seats for the two young ones.

Can we drive our minivan from POP to Magic Kingdom.

That way we can come back to the resort for a nap in the afternoons.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks in advance.

yr2000, you cannot use car seats on Disney buses. I always find the buses easier than driving. Although if you have a stroller you will have to fold it up to get it on the bus.

You can check in at any time. However, you room may not be available until after 3:00pm. (If it's ready early, then even better)

We can store your luggage, and have it automatically brought up to your room within one hour of it becoming available. (You can still gain access to it while we hold onto it for you.)

There are restrooms and changing rooms at every pool. They are located in the Shoe Rack for the 50s, Petals Pool Bar for the 60s, and the CPU for the 80/90s. There are also lil showers to rinse the chlorine off.

Buses start running around 7:00am. Make sure you're at the bus stop no later than 7:45, and you'll get there in PLENTY of time. :)

Happy Holidays Everyone!

We are counting the hours until we arrive at MCO on Thursday night around 11:00 p.m. I called the PC front desk (Thank you, Tyler for the phone number!) and asked if we needed to mark our reservation that we'd be arriving very late (close to midnight I'd say). I was told that was not necessary and that someone would be there 24 hours a day to check us in. Great!

Then I asked if our room had been assigned to us yet. She said no, that usually takes place 2 days prior to arrival. I said its now 2 days prior to our arrival, and so she connected me with that department and I spoke to a nice woman who took our request that we wanted something close to the main bldg (we'd be willing to pay the extra $10 for prefered if necessary). I also said we wanted our window to face the main area as we have BIG PLANS to decorate our picture window with a twinkling Mickey wreath and garland as well as window clings and a door covering. Yikes! I hope it doesn't look too tacky, but its all about fun, isn't it! Besides, how else will Santa find us that far away from home?

Anyone else out there decorating their window for the holiday?

~Wendy

Thanks for the information, Tyler! I think we will ask for the 70's building because we were married in 1975 and will be celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. Our kids were born in 1976 and 1980, so there will be lots and lots of things for us to remember(smile).

Remember where you're going... to a place where Magic lives! Your luggage will automatically appear in your room within one hour of it becoming available. So, if you check in at 10am, and your room isn't ready yet, head off to the parks... have fun. You don't need to do a thing... we find out when the room is available, and take your luggage up within one hour. You do not need to be in your room.

As for tipping, with "Luggage Assistance" it's not neccessary or expected. If you recieve amazing service, and wish to, that's up to you, but don't feel that you need to. It's our pleasure. :)

(Bell Services differs from luggage assistance slighty. They are an on-demand service, and you must be in your room. This is because with Bell Services, a tip is usually customary. They are in a tipped position, Luggage Assitance is a non-tipped position)

Unfortunetly, we cannot accommodate car seats on the buses. You may bring your stroller with you, and onto the bus, however, it must be folded prior to boarding the bus. Generally, when I had young ones on my bus, the toddlers sat with thier parents, sometimes on a lap if needed.

You may drive to the Magic Kingdom if you wish. Parking is free. However, you will probably need to take the Parking Tram from the parking lot to the TTC. (It's a long walk). From there, you take the Monorail or the Ferryboat to the Magic Kingdom.

The buses, which run continuously back and forth all day long, will drop you directly off at the main gate of the MK itself.

Tyler,

As usual you are THE man!! Thanks for answering all of our questions. I know you must get tired of them!! Sometimes we (all of the question makers) seem like a bunch of three year olds asking "Why, Why, Why" LOL I know I get aggervated with my kids (sometimes) when they ask question, after question, after question. Again, I just want to thank you for taking time out of your day to help those of us who are dying to see such a great resort!!!

Cya There!!

I wanted to stay in the 50's Bldg and I also put preferred on my ressie. I saw somewhere that preferred's are only in the 60's? Is that correct and should I then take that off my ressie so I can get into the 50's Bldgs?

Thanks so much!

My hubby is doing the Petty Experience. We have to be there at 7:30am. Is transportation provided? We will not have a car. When I made the arrangements, someone told me transportation arrangements will be made for me. What does that mean?

Thanks,
Renee

Looking forward to seeing you Tyler & DJ in 2 days.::yes::

I wanted to request either the 70's or the 50's section, which section would you say is the shortest walk back to the room from the bus stop? Im going with my mom and don't want to make her walk any more then she has too, but we were just going to book a standard room.
Thanks!

Well, if they told you transportation arrangements were made for you, then I'd ask for clarification on that. It could be that they will come and pick you up right at the resort.

In the off chance that this isn't the case, be out at the bus stop at 7:00am, and catch the Magic Kingdom bus. Tell them where you are going, and ask to be dropped off at the Transportation & Ticket Center. It's at the TTC (more specifically, the Kennel/Lost & Found Bldg) where the Richard Petty shuttle picks up.

It's really hard to say. There are rooms in the 70's and 80's that are a short walk to the Bus Stop... but, there are also further rooms. Your best bet is upon checking in, have the host or hostess get out a map of the resort, and figure out based on available rooms, which area would be best.

I second that!

"Sometimes we (all of the question makers) seem like a bunch of three year olds asking "Why, Why, Why" LOL I know I get aggervated with my kids (sometimes) when they ask question, after question, after question. "

at least with us it isn't "arewethereyet(kick the back of the driver's seat)arewethereyet(kick the back of the drivers seat)arewethereyet(kick the back of the drivers seat)" although that *may* have been at his old job...!
