I will be checking in on Jan 17th too. When I planned this trip months ago I didnt even realize it was MLK weekend. Will the whole week be busy or just the weekend? We were planning a few down days in the middle of our trip but maybe we should plan on doing them early.

Ignore what I posted earlier on this post. I was thinking February, not January. I think that MLK crowds are larger mostly over the long weekend. I think you'll find some easing of the crowds as the week goes on. Since most kids just went back to school from Christmas break, parents probably aren't taking a lot of them out for the week.

So, Tyler -- is that this Friday you are talking about? If so, what do we need to expect? We are checking in Friday afternoon (Whooo-Hooo!!!). Just wondering. Thanks for all your help and info (you too, EJ!).

See ya Friday! :bounce:

I believe Friday will be our first fully open day. (Meaning, all rooms will be available) We've been staggering the opening this week, opening only a few hundred rooms per day. So, Friday, everything will be opened up, and the fun begins! :)

It'll be a large turn... but we're built and staffed to handle it.

:earseek: Ummm....so what does the week of the 25th to the 31st look like, cause that's when we will be there?

Of which month? December? If so, probably pretty full since that is the busiest week of the year at WDW.

If you mean January, then the crowds should be great! I love to go the first week of February (and am really hoping I get to this February!) because the crowds are so light.

it should be ..we had no problem getting a room for a last min. trip for feb.6-8 and I know Value season is till the 11 of Feb ( or so )

Thanks for the photos. WOW. I can't to get there. How do I start a countdown timer for myself, to count down the days before I check in at the Pop Century?

The clock has now started!!

WELCOME to the DIS, William.

If you head over to the technical support forum, there is a thread that says Get Your Countdowns Here. That is all you need to get a countdown.

Welcome William!!

I am so envious of you.... you will be at the Pop before me!!! That's ok though. Just give us a great trip report upon your return!!

Cya There!!

Anyone try the Twinkie Tiramisu at Everything Pop, yet? Any feedback on how it was? We have a restaurant here in Chicago that serves Twinkie Tiramisu and it is extremely popular. I was just curious!! Thanks!!!

I have! It was very rich, and very good. It'd be a good thing to share with someone, as it is very rich.

Hi My family and I have 3 rooms booked for the week after Christmas. I know it is not garunteed however is there any way I can call or fax a request that we get three room snear each other. I don't need ajoining but the same building would be great. We have a grand gathering number not sure what that means though.
Also Only one name is on the reservation. If we arrive at different times will we not be able to check in without the original reservation holder?
Thanks for all your info. This a a great thread.

Thanks for the Twinkie Tiramisu review, Tyler. (say that 10 times, really fast!).

I will remind you of the "Twinkie question" when I look for you when we are at POP from January 12-16. We were originally booked for that time at the Dolphin using the Govt Employee Dist. But after reading all of Tyler's posts even before the Resort opened, we decided to change to the POP. It will be the 5th trip for my 5 year old DD but it is the first trip for my sister and niece. I thought the POP would make the biggest impression on them!!

Keep up the good work, Tyler. It world be nice if you could get commission off of all the business you have brought to the POP from your posts on these forums!!! See ya in 3 weeks!!!

Thank you for your post, my friend..

I emailed some photos of the aerial view from the website to my nephew. I sure wish to stay in the 1950's area, for after I was born in 01/1954, and I bowl (I carry a 184 average), too.

I sure miss bowling at those Brunswick pins as the place I bowl have those AMF pins. I look forward to visiting MK on the day I turn 50. :jester:

Are you ever so lucky to live so close to Disney World and me so far from Disney World, but willing to go over 2,000 miles to see the Mick, instead of driving 90 miles to Disneyland. Still, I love Disneyland, too.

I do beleive that was Squiggle! :)

Hi everyone! DD4 and I will be at POP from 1/7 - 1/13.

Tyler - I am thinking of sending along a package with snacks and such. How long will you hold the package? I'm not sure if I should wait until after the holidays to send it. I would rather use the cheapest shipping option so that precludes sending it priority, etc.

BTW, if you are wondering about my screen name, I switched to POP after reading these posts too! Tyler, you really need to set up some commission.

Thanks,

Michelle
