I'm packing for our trip. We leave on Tuesday. Just wondering do they have irons in the rooms?

Any tips on the upcoming weather? Thanks - See you on Wednesday.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Yes! All rooms wil feature irons and ironing boards.

Hey Tyler, just wanted to say GOOD LUCK! Hope the opening goes well and can't wait to see the place for myself next month.

Checking in on Friday the 19th! :bounce:

Just wondering if Pop Century will have hair dryers available on request like they do at All Stars? Thinking about not packing my hair dryer because I hate lugging it around......

Let the show begin!

Tyler -- thanks for the posts. You have "infected" more than a few of us with your enthusiasm for Pop Century and the wonderful "value" that is being offered.

Having stayed at All Star Movies once (as well as several other World resorts), I get a real good feel for what Pop Century is . . . newer and improved, yes?

Maybe a few kinks, probably a bit of new magic as well!

Great opening to all. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Kwanza, etc. etc.

Hope to get down there in the coming year (5th trip in 4 years?)!

Ok!

Have a great first day! We will be there a week from tomorrow! I can't wait. I want that tie-dyed cheesecake!!!!

WOO HOO! Our first day was a hit!! It started off raining, but, they say if it rains on your wedding day, it's good luck. I'm hoping it's good luck for us too!

We were pretty busy early in the morning, and then things steadied out throughout the day. Everyone seemed to be having fun, lots of magical moments... the resort was well recieved. :)

We had a few opening day challenges, but they were quickly worked out, and everything was great. :)

I got to meet a whole bunch of DIS'ers... I'm HORRIBLE with names, so I don't remember who I met. But I know I met them!!! YAY!! :)

Oh, Tyler, I'm glad everything went well!
I can't wait to get there next month to meet you for myself.

I have been talked into it... I am booking our May/June trip for Pop. I think I may want Tyler's autograph! So what Decade/rooms do you suggest?

Okay someone posted to an email group about a boat from Pop to DTD? Any truth to this...

Question number two: What are the decorations/icons for the 90's. I know a cell phone and a Laptop- anything else.

Question three: I thought I saw Pac-man ghosts in a picture, what decade was it on? DH and I disagree as to which it should be.

Last question is in general, not Pop specific, but I thought this would be a good place to ask. I have a person traveling with me who tires easily and has some trouble with mobility/walking- and this person refuses to use a wheelchair or even a handicap parking pass. Should we use the buses or drive our own car to the various parks. If it makes a differance we get up with the sun when at WDW and love early entry (or whatever they call it now).

Any advice would be welcomed.

Thanks.

Oh, and congrats on opening! Wish I could have been there for it.

Hi Tyler,
I'll be there in early Feb. celebrating my DD 9th bday. I've always been able to do something magical for her. This year it's a trip to Disney. I was wondering if there's anything special at PC that could happen or I should ask for on her bday? Thanks for all your hard work! We are really excited to stay here!

Steph.

I'd suggest whatever decade you associate with best.

Not even close to true. There is no waterway connecting the two properties.

For the 80s, Roger Rabbit and a Sony Walkman are the main icons. Rubix Cube's are the stairwells. You got the 90's. :)

They are on the 80's buildings.

With the exception of Epcot, buses typically drop off near the Front Gate. AK might be more of a walk as well. For driving yourself, you can request to park in the first "reserved" space in a row, so that you may easily board the parking tram which would then only be a few feet away.

as someone in the same boat we have always used the buses or monorails I think that is easier for me. we have always taken the mono. t/from epcot though so this will be a new experience with buses there and not sure how that will work out if the buses are a distance. we alos do ee and get there in enough time to be able to walk at a comfortable pace.

When you drive in the main Disney World entrance are there signs that direct you to Pop Century? My mom is driving her own car and wants to know how to get to the hotel (or if you want to get technical: the motel. Recalling the great hotel/motel debate on this board:rolleyes: )

Just wanted to stick my head in and say "Hi!" I'm EJ and I work with the one and only Tyler.

Tyler - now the race is on to see who can answer the fastest!!!

pirate: BWAHAHAHAHAH!

J/K

I'm glad to see such interest in a great resort like Pop Century.

Hi EJ!
So what part of PC to you work in? We will be there in 6 days! Can't wait! I hope the pools are heated, my girls want to swim.

DJ

We were originally going to check in at PC this Froday morning and stay off site for Thur. night but now we decided to check in at POP on Thur!!!!!!! I called CRO and made the reservation for Thur. night but I forgot to mention that we wouldn't be checking in until around 11:00pm. (our flight arrives at MCO at 10:00pm) Will it be a problem to check in so late, should I call them back and let them know or should I call POP Thur. morning and let them know we'll be arriving late?

Cheryl

DJ, I work out in Luggage Assistance with Tyler right now. We will both be Cross-Trained onto the Front Desk in the first part of the New Year. The pools are heated, so swim to your hearts content!

Cheryl, 11 PM isn't too late to check-in, but it is too late to get the world renowned (well, at least Disney-world renowned) Luggage Assistance from Tyler or myself. The Front Desk is staffed 24 hours a day, so hakuna matata!!!

Hi EJ, WOW thanks for the quick response! Welcome to the DIS boards!!!!

You mean you won't stick around until 11:00PM just to help my family with our luggage LOL. We'll have to look for you and Tyler Friday morning so that we can personally thank you for the help given here!!!

We will be coming in on a late flight, 10:00PM (Sunday night). I have two small kids that I can imagine will be cranky that time of the night. I could stop at a store (we are using a towncar), but that would get us in our room even later.

I spoke with a CM at the WDTC last night and he mentioned we could just take a cab from the PC to the Goodings at Crossroads??. Could you venture to guess how far Goodings is from PC? Also, how much do you think it might cost for a cab?

Thank you Tyler and EJ for taking the time to help us out. I know we all appreciate it.

Have a great day.
