Thanks to all for your helpful responses. I am always touched over the helpfulness and general kindness on these boards! :hippie:

We do in fact have YC CL waterview. We are excited to stay here for the first time. In the past (several years ago--when DS was in stroller) we stayed at BWI. Even though we loved it, we thought we'd try another EPCOT resort. DS would kill us if we didn't get to go to SAB so that settled it. We originally thought BC just bc it was closer, not bc we had a real preference. But this is a last minute trip and BC CL is full.

We would like to request a room that is close to an elevator to get to SAB. Hopefully that won't make it too long of a walk to the lounge. But I keep reminding DH that he is training for the DL half marathon next year and DS and I want to do the 5k Family Fun Run...so what's a few more yards? We need the training! :rotfl:

Thanks again. Any specific room recommendations would be appreciated. Also, any info on elevators down at the end of the fifth floor that get you easily to SAB would be much appreciated.

BCV23, you seem to have great knowledge of the BCV's. short run down for the 2 bedroom villa. There will be me, DH, DS14 and DS's BF14. I have a couple of questions. Do we have to request housekeeping or is it automatically done? Also, if it is not done is there an extra charge for this service and what about the sheets and towels as well? I am sorry for all of the questions but I am just trying to weigh my options as to whether we should get the Jr Suite, 2 club level rooms or a 2 bedroom villa. TIA.:flower3:

If your reservation is through Disney Reservations, you will have housekeeping every day just as in any other resort with clean towels, sheets changed on whatever schedule they use, etc.. It is automatically done.

It's only with a DVC reservation using points that mousekeeping is less frequent unless you pay extra.

As you probably already know, the advantages of the two BR include a king in the master, jetted tub and separate shower, washer/dryer and full size refrigerator. The living room provides another nice space and there are three TVs, two DVD players. There would be a minimum of 2 balconies but most villas will have three or one long balcony and a shorter one off the second bedroom.

Good luck with your decision.:goodvibes

I am interested in the YC CL info too. Currently my BIG plan is to keep my standard YC room. Check in, ask if CL is available and if the view is good (garden view) then i will happily pay the upcharge. The last thing I want to do is pay for a CL YC garden view and be awarded a parking lot. Would be BEYOND sad. We stayed CL in BWI on 4/3 in June and just loved loved it. Going out on a limb here with YC in December this year and was happy to book CL until I learned I could be stuck with parking lot!! So not the way BWI does CL but I digress!!! Thanks for the info on "where" to request a room to be hopefully given a nice view!

BCV23 you are fantastic. :worship: Just the answers that I was looking for. I definitely think the 2 bdr villa is the way to go especially with 2 teenage boys. I am such a happy camper now. Thanks for you help.:flower3:

I'm glad I was able to help a bit, CoachBagFanatic. :goodvibes It would be my choice if I were traveling with a son's teenage friend. Everyone will have plenty of privacy and a comfortable place to gather as well.

You should know thought that many consider the views at the BCV to not be the best. We've actually enjoyed every villa we've had though. Close to half view the BCV pool. Most of the others face the back of Epcot. There is a road that runs between BCV and Epcot. There is landscaping and to us that whole side is very peaceful. There is another rather small area that faces the courtyard between BCV and BC as well as the driveway. That would be my least favorite view although I know some love it.

Happy planning!:surfweb:

This is just what we were thinking. The more room the better. Normally the view is very important to us but only if it were the three of us traveling. Although John (BF) is like my other son, I still would feel better if I had my own bathroom.:scared1: Just told my DH and DS about Garden Grocer. They are like a kids in a candy store.:lmao: Again, thanks for all this great information. You have made our decision a breeze.

You're most welcome. I hope you enjoy BCV as much as we do.

One more caveat though....did you see the discussion about beds in the 2nd BR? Most 2 BRs have one queen and a sofa sleeper. There's another sofa sleeper in the living room. There are 25 dedicated two bedrooms with 2 queens. I'm not sure if any are in DRC's inventory but if that is what you want, reserve early. One other thing, a lockout 2 BR will have a second entry in the second BR. Something to think about with 14 yos. If you think that is not wise, just reserve a dedicated 2 BR. I guess that was 2 caveats, wasn't it.:rotfl:

Hi all, can anyone post a picture of the newly refurbished rooms on the 5th floor at the yc?

How does that work with a lockout 2 bedroom- will they give you a key for each door?

Checked into BC today. I am enjoying the free wireless internet in the lobby. I requested an upper floor near Epcot. We ended up on the second floor closer to the lobby but we got 2 qs beds and a day bed so that was cool. Our view is of the side of the BCV.

I am a little disappointed in the Market Place. I thought Gasparillas was bad but at least they were open 24/7. I came down at about 11:05 to fill our mugs and they were closed.

Okay, I'm confused. What should I book? I want a full balcony with a water view so that I can sit on the balcony and watch the Friendship Boats head to EPCOT and DHS. I thought we should stay at the YC because most of the balcony rooms at the BC had standing only balconies. We don't want to stay concierge level. Is that the only way to get a water view sitting balcony?

Can you please tell me what time Market Place is opening in the mornings? If you aren't an early bird, they *should* have a sign posted at the front with the hours (I think they did when we were there last year). I have the flip-side of your complaint; last October they weren't open in the mornings until 7 (and I'm looking for my first cuppa an hour or so before that). We head back there next month and I'd love to get some use out of a refillable mug this time rather than having to pay or use snack credits every morning for coffee. (No, I'm not a 'make it in the room' kind of gal.)

Thanks!

Are there BC rooms w/out a balcony (full or standing) or patio? Can you see any fireworks on the BC/YC property? If we can't see anything from our room, is there a place outside where we can see some of them?

We were there the end of June and the Marketplace opened at 7am. However, they had it open early and roped off so that people could fill their mugs. I don't know if this was a normal thing and I don't know what time they started that morning. Teena would know but she is on vacation right now.

Yes, I did see the discussion and both boys would rather sleep on the floor if they could.:lmao: But at least there will be plenty of options for both of them. Thanks for the info about the lockout. That's definitely comes in handy. My DH and DS have already started putting their grocery list together.:rotfl: I told them lets get the reservation first and then they can play.

I know this might sound silly but since we are going to be in Florida for 12 days next year, just to know that I can do clothes is the icing on the cake for me.:lmao: We just returned a couple of weeks ago from a 2 week stay in Florida and I wasn't able to wash clothes.:scared1: Told my DH I will never do that again. I had clothes coming out of every corner of the house when we returned.

Again, thanks so much. You have been such a great help and we are so looking forward to staying there.

Thanks so much; I really appreciate your response! I'll see what Teena has to say when she gets back. It's not a make or break kind of thing, but just would be nice to know.:flower3:

Does anyone know where I can look to find out about room balconies and views at different levels of pricing?
