Can you please tell me what time Market Place is opening in the mornings? If you aren't an early bird, they *should* have a sign posted at the front with the hours (I think they did when we were there last year). I have the flip-side of your complaint; last October they weren't open in the mornings until 7 (and I'm looking for my first cuppa an hour or so before that). We head back there next month and I'd love to get some use out of a refillable mug this time rather than having to pay or use snack credits every morning for coffee. (No, I'm not a 'make it in the room' kind of gal.)

Thanks!

We were there the end of June and the Marketplace opened at 7am. However, they had it open early and roped off so that people could fill their mugs. I don't know if this was a normal thing and I don't know what time they started that morning. Teena would know but she is on vacation right now.

That has been our experience for the the last year or maybe two. It opens for refills at 6:30 I think. Pretty sure it isn't 6am. The store opens for business at 7am.

Are there BC rooms w/out a balcony (full or standing) or patio? Can you see any fireworks on the BC/YC property? If we can't see anything from our room, is there a place outside where we can see some of them?

Yes, there are rooms without any balcony or patio. But the view of Illuminations isn't the greatest from any room I don't think. Nothing like the view of Wishes from some of the MK resort rooms. Your best bet is to walk to the bridge toward the BW.

We've had rooms facing Epcot that afforded somewhat of a view of Illuminations. They were at the far end of the resort facing the woods.

Yes, I did see the discussion and both boys would rather sleep on the floor if they could.:lmao: But at least there will be plenty of options for both of them. Thanks for the info about the lockout. That's definitely comes in handy. My DH and DS have already started putting their grocery list together.:rotfl: I told them lets get the reservation first and then they can play.

I know this might sound silly but since we are going to be in Florida for 12 days next year, just to know that I can do clothes is the icing on the cake for me.:lmao: We just returned a couple of weeks ago from a 2 week stay in Florida and I wasn't able to wash clothes.:scared1: Told my DH I will never do that again. I had clothes coming out of every corner of the house when we returned.

Again, thanks so much. You have been such a great help and we are so looking forward to staying there.

That doesn't sound silly at all. When we decided to buy BCV, I was really looking forward to the w/d. I was surprised just how much I loved it. It is so easy to run a load every night. We go home with all clean clothes except for the last night's pajamas. Love it!

Funny about the boys and the floor. :rotfl: Our younger son used to love sleeping on a couch. He still thinks the sleeper sofas are fun.:goodvibes

Happy planning!:surfweb:

Thanks to the posters who responded to my question about the YC renovations. :) It looks like we should be all set to book for November. DH and I had to reschedule this trip twice already and I've always wanted to stay at YC.

Okay, I'm confused. What should I book? I want a full balcony with a water view so that I can sit on the balcony and watch the Friendship Boats head to EPCOT and DHS. I thought we should stay at the YC because most of the balcony rooms at the BC had standing only balconies. We don't want to stay concierge level. Is that the only way to get a water view sitting balcony?
Lucy's Mom

I would say that a YC waterview room is your best bet and the only way to ensure you get a fulll balcony - at BC a full balcony would only be a request and not guaranteed.

Love the idea of leaving with clean clothes also.:cloud9: I knew I would have more questions and if I become a bother, please let me know. I am going to have laundry detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheets delivered with our grocery order. Do we need to supply say the paper towels, napkins and things of this nature for the kitchen as well as the dishwashing liquid?

Also, we ship a package down everytime we visit. When we get to the resort we just tell the CM that we had a package shipped there for us and they bring it to our room. Is it the same for the DVC or is there a different policy? TIA:flower3:

Trust me, it's no bother. I love discussing BCV.:cloud9: If you have a reservation through DRC, a single load box of Tide will be supplied each day. We've never stayed on a cash reservation but I would imagine they would leave you more if you need it. No dryer sheets or fabric softener are provided.

Dishwasher detergent in single use packets and dishwashing liquid in a cute little container are provided. There's also a sponge and dish towel as well as paper towels. No napkins though.

We've never shipped a package but bell services and room service are the same at BCV as at any other deluxe resort so I'm sure you will be fine there.

Hi again, does anyone have an answer to this one? From pics online it looks like each villa may have a full balcony (or patio)? Thanks!

I'm sorry I missed this.:flower3: Yes, all villas have at least one balcony or patio. Some of the balconies are a tad less than the full width of the villa but all are big enough for a table and two chairs. Some balconies are huge.

BCV23 you are the best. I can't thank you enough for answering all my questions. With all the great information that you have provided, I have all my ducks in a row now.:cool1: Outside of my ADR's this was the easiest planning ever.:thumbsup2 Thanks again. Mary Ann:flower3:

ot but

I cant help but notice your username coachbag fanatic -- I just wanted to say there is an awesome coach bag store at the premium outlets -- and the deals there were unbelievable. Women were in a frenzy picking up purses and wallets this past march 600 dollar bags for 100 bucks, clutch purses for as low as 25....-- its a relatively short taxi drive from Disney... just saying... I dont know if they always have these deals, but this past march it was just nutty....

Teena- hope you are having a great cruise, we will see you in a couple of weeks!!!

Rileygirl is what I call my neighbors daughter.:flower3: It's funny you say that because we were just there a couple of weeks ago and like you said the place was a mad house. Frenzy is putting it lightly.:lmao: They did have some wonderful deals but nothing really caught my eye. The back pack that I was looking for was sold out. :sad1: I am not into the silvers and gold type pocket books. I am a Signature Series girl. Was looking at a couple pairs of shoes but I wear a 5.5 and of course they didn't have them. So next time we make it down there we will stop by again. Only it is going to be when they first open. We arrived there around 1:00PM and the place was crazy. :flower3:

According to the handy dandy DVC member book I borrowed from my parents, all BCV rooms have balconies. Studios have one. One bedrooms have one off the living room area (not the master bedroom). Two bedrooms have one in the second bedroom and one in the living room (which makes sense since many are just a one bedroom and studio stuck together).

I've heard most of the views aren't that spectacular (none face Crescent Lake), unless you're lucky enough to be facing east on a higher floor, then you get nice views of EPCOT. From what I've read either of the France pavilion or of the Land with Spaceship Earth behind it.

Here is the Big Breakfast Platter from Beaches and Cream. On our last morning, the four of us (2 adults, plus an 11 and 8 year old) split two of these and a parfait (snack credit). I forgot to take a picture of the parfait until my son had finished half, and it did not look appetizing at that point!

This is my first attempt at posting a picture, so if you are unable to view it, let me know and I will try again.

It was my pleasure. :flower3:

In this case, the handy dandy planner is understating the case. As I said all villas have balconies or patios.

So all studios have one balcony or a patio.

Many one bedrooms (I venture to say most) have either two balconies or a long balcony that spans the width of the living room and second bedroom. There are a relative few one bedrooms that have no balcony off the master BR. If you look at pictures of BCV, you can see those master BRs. We've probably had close to 20 1 or 2 BRs at BCV at this point and only twice has the master BR lacked a balcony.

A relatively small number of villas on the Epcot side face SSE. Others face the back of Soarin. Another group faces the back of France but you can't see much unless you're on a higher floor.

In our experience, there is not a huge advantage in a higher floor for a view of Illuminations. The lower effects aren't visible from any villa we've had and the higher effects have been visible from every villa we've had on that side with the exception of villas on one wing that face toward the BW and DHS.

natebenma, thanks for sharing your photo. Can you explain the setup? Are they taking orders in the carryout door or in the main part of the restaurant? Was it busy? TIA.

Has anyone heard if B&C breakfast will continue after this trial period?

That's cool that there's apparently more balconie/patios than I thought. I've stayed at OKW a bunch, and I know the layout is a ton different, but there the one bedrooms have one big balcony where there are entrances to the balcony from the master bedroom and living room rather than two separate balconies.

Is that what it's like at BCV rather than a separate balcony for the bedroom and living room. Either way would be great as far as I'm concerned.

Looks edible.;)
Did they have many other options? Long wait?
Could you sit outside?
Hope you had a great trip.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I love those balconies at OKW. Love the light, love the fan, love the table and space.

At BCV, the balconies really vary. But unlike those at OKW, almost all are narrow. There are a very few that are even wider than those at OKW though...very few.

I don't know how to describe it differently than I did previously. If you look at pictures of the exterior of BCV, you might be able to see what I mean. A 2 BR might have one long balcony for the one BR portion and then another for the studio. Some will have three separate balconies. And there are those that have no balconies off the master. We've never stayed in a dedicated 2 BR but it may be that some of those have one long balcony that spans the whole unit.:confused3

Just got back today from our first stay at the Beach Club and we thought it was great! We had previously stayed twice at AKL and were hoping to like the BC as much and we did. It was me, DH, DS17 and DD12.

I booked a standard view room and made NO requests. We checked in at 8:30am on Sunday the 19th and were pleasantly and quickly processed. We also were given a nice upgrade to a waterview, overlooking Stormalong Bay and the lake toward the gateway walkway. We were in room 4689 and it was nice to have the daybed as well as the queens. The balcony was the small walkout, but was just fine for us. It was nice being able to look out the balcony door and see the activities with the lifeguards at the pool. Housekeeping was good and efficient and our housekeeper, Marie, was very nice.

The kids loved the pool and I did the slide a couple of times, very fun. We didn't rent a tube as we brought our own noodles and they were fine. Someone gave DD a tube on the last day, but she thought it was too bulky and we were happy to have our noodles to do the little lazy river part. I did see many people without wristbands, but we never had any problem getting a chair right in front of activities area.

We took advantage of Beaches and Cream breakfast once and one late night snacking, Captains Grille breakfast and dinner, as well as dinner and breakfast at Cape May. We did wait 90 minutes one night for room service, but we were told in advance that they were very busy. We thought the food was good and we loved the proximity to Epcot and the Boardwalk as we also ate at the Flying Fish as well as Le Cellier twice, so being close was great! We usually made Epcot or DHS our last park each evening for the relaxing walk or boatride.

We thought the buses were fine and quick for MK and AK. We did MK three times and the first two times we went straight to MK with no other stops and arrived within 15 minutes. We did stop at other resorts on the way back, but the buses were never crowded. The bus to AK was quick as well and got us there so quickly on Friday that we were picked to be a Family of the Day on the safari and rode first at 8:45.:)

I did laundry halfway through the trip in one of the two laundry rooms. It was $2.00 per load to wash and drying was free. One of the dryers wasn't heating very well and we had to move our clothes to the other dryer to finish so it took a while to dry.

All in all, the BC surpassed all of our expectations and we would happily stay there again.

We had breakfast around 7 AM, it was the morning we were leaving (Saturday) and we had to catch the ME bus at 8. No line/crowds at that time. I think there were 2 other families eating there, and several people taking food back to their rooms. I don't know if you could eat outside, but I don't see why not.

I haven't heard when/if they will stop the trial breakfast, but as Teena has instructed, please write to guest services and/or the General Manager of the BC if you want it to stay!

We had such a fantastic trip and stay at the Beach Club- thanks for asking!

The entire set up for the B&C breakfast was in the restaurant- You order/pay the cashier, and go and pick up your food order from the CM behind the counter (see photo)
