Hi everyone,
My family and I returned from a quick weekend getaway at the Beach Club. We were booked in a standard view room on the Club Level, staying Thursday 7/23-Sunday 7/26. We arrived at the resort around 12:30, self parked, and walked to the outside check in area for club level. The CM whisked us upstairs, very friendly, and checked us in. It was my mom, adult cousin and I and we really wanted a daybed, but unfortunately none were available so they offered to give us a rollaway free of charge. I didn't realize they did charge for them, but it ended up working out fine for our stay. The only minor annoyance (which didn't bother us but I could see bothering others) is that you couldn't keep it down during the day because it blocked the door to the balcony. He gave us a quick tour of the lounge itself and then told that we would get a text when our room was ready.
While eating a quick lunch at Hurricane Hanna's, we decided we wanted to try the Cape May for Dinner so we hopped upstairs and she was able to get us 8:10 reservations for dinner and told us I should be receiving a text any second that my room is ready - she was right! We were in 5704. LOVE the new refurbished rooms! I've never stayed in the old ones but I've seen pictures and these are much more my style. We had the lovely view of the roof top and part of the resorts valet area. But I could see Spaceship Earth and the Land very clearly which was neat. Oh and we had a full balcony.
Stormalong Bay - used the pool all 3 days we were there. It is officially my favorite pool. We bought noodles to use on the lazy river and we literally spent hours just floating around in it. I do think the tubes seem bulky and too big for the amount of people there and the size of the tubes, especially the double tubes. What also surprised me was how uncrowded the pool felt despite how crazy crowded it was outside the pool. We did have difficulty getting chairs, even just one to put our stuff on, in the afternoons which I think is to be expected at that time of the day. Thursday and Friday they were very strict about giving out wristbands, but on Saturday I saw tons of people without them. I also saw the "towel police" who would walk around and remove towels off chairs that looked like no one was there, i.e. no shoes, not bags, no other personal belongings besides towels.
Clambake - I was very pleasantly surprised with this meal. I'm not a big clams and oyster girl but I left stuffed and I think I would actually eat here again. My fave though? The brocolli slaw. Must find that recipe. I was craving it for the rest of the trip.
No thoughts on the busses since we didn't use any...and the walk to Epcot was super quick (we left through the BC main entrance).
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
I'm going to post the club level offerings during my stay in my next post, too.
