We are checking out of Port Orleans Riverside and into Yacht Club on may 12th. Planning on getting to YC for around 8am. I know our room will probably not be ready, but once checked in will we be able to use the pool?

Does anyone know the pool opening hours?

And would we be ok leaving our bags with the hotel or better left in our car?

Thank you

Yes, you can use the pool once checked in. The quiet pool usually opens at 7am. Storm Along Bay varies, but it can open later around 10am (depending on the season).

We generally leave our stuff in the car -- mostly for quick access. But the times we have left it with the hotel have been flawless. And they will let you get to your stuff if you need to before your room is ready, it just takes a little while.

Have a wonderful trip!

Zack said a great big hug back from him to you!! He sure hopes you will be there. We will be hoping for disney magic that we will see you :wizard: And the pin i received was good until Dec. 16th 2010. I will pm you before we leave :)

I am soooo excited! DH just paid off our 7 night stay at the....BC !!!!!
YEAAAAAH!!!!! :banana::banana:

Remember, last year we ended up not going to WDW at all, since we loaned my DB money for his divorce, etc. Glad we were able to do it.

Oh, well.......Looks like you all will be seeing a lot more of me! :cloud9:

I just got the ok from my boss to attend a work-related conference at Y&BC in April. My issue right now is that it's a Sunday conference and I'd need weekend childcare for my 3 little ones. But I'd get a free trip to Disney!!!

Couple questions...
How long does it take to get to the MK from the BC by bus?
Are their any stops at any other resorts?
Also, at night- how bad are the buses coming back from the MK? With two younger children, is it a nightmare? Any suggestions?

Just trying to decide between GF and BC. Love both, spending equal time between MK and Epcot- just so undecided!

Thanks!

We go in the summer and have never had any trouble with the buses to MK. The only stops were YC and BC. I think it was about a 10 minute drive. No problem getting the bus back either.

The monorail is quicker getting to MK but it's easier to walk to EPCOT and take the ferry to DHS.

Normally the only stops are the Y&B. However, during the day when there isn't much bus use, sometimes they will stop at the Swan & Dolphin or Boardwalk.

Once when I left after MK closed and took the bus to BC, it took me 19 minutes from getting on the bus, then stopping at YC and then to the BC. The reason it probably took that long was there were loads of families with strollers and children and it took them a long time getting off at the YC.

We've stayed at GF, the Poly, YC and BC. BC is our favorite hands down!

It's beautiful! But then I keep thinking to myself, if we can afford the GF this year, should go for it?! Is it one of those things where you have to experience it once?

I also liked the Poly, but we've ruled it out. It just doesn't appeal to DH.
So now it's back to BC and GF. I honestly don't think the kids will care about "theming".

I don't know how old your children are but we're waiting until ours are older before we try GF. We've eaten there a few times and it just feels more formal to me. We always see lots of older people there and I always worry that my kids will disturb the "peace" there. My kids are pretty well-behaved for kids who are 6, 4, and not quite 2 but they are still kids! I feel like that'll be a great place to stay when they are teenagers!!!

Our kids are 8 and 4, thankfully very well behaved!

Hi Gang

We are going to the BC in March for the first time and are really really excited about it. We've stayed at the S/D on our last 3 trips to Disney. Will we really notice much of a difference/better experience?

Thanks
Andy

Well of course you have access to SAB! Also the movie/campfire on the beach at night is really nice. There are some perks to staying at Disney compared to the S/D (although S/D are very nice) - Magical Express, Disney Dining Plan, and having packages delivered to your resort.

I'm sure you will have a magical time at BC.

I know I saw this question asked, but I never saw the answer and I can't remember from our previous trip- what size are the in room coffee makers at YC? I would like to bring my own coffee, but I need to know what size filters to bring. Also, do they take standard or cone filters?

Same thought here about the more formal atmosphere at GF- we've stayed at WL, Poly, BC, CBR, CSR and Sports. For our more recent trips, we've been staying at WL. Other factors that really sold us on BC this time include 1) opportunity to walk to two parks (although we may boat to DHS); 2) the renovated rooms at BC look wonderful; and 3) SAB !!!!!

Our oldest said that if they extended the monorail to BC, it would be perfect. :)

Those were basically my reasons to stay at BC, too. And the fact that we could choose BCV and get a one bedroom!!! We've stayed at Poly, Contemp, and SSR. I wouldn't choose SSR again unless we rented a car (and my DH feels that one of the major selling points of Disney is that you don't need a car!). Our close friends have stayed at GF and BC and much preferred BC. Their girls didn't really like GF (ages 2 and 4 at the time of travel). And this family likes to travel in style so it's not a cost issue! In fact, I think they chose GF for the 1st trip because it's the priciest of the resorts...
