I was wondering if the bus stops at DTD to POFQ are as crazy as they are for the Value Resorts? That was one of the big factors in us choosing not to stay at a VR ever again. My DH and DD5 were separated from DS13 and I because of all of the pushing and shoving, and there was a woman/woman fistfight because it was just a free-for-all run to the bus when it pulled up. No que is a bad idea, is it the same for POFQ?

There is no que for the busses at FQ.

We have taken the bus from DTD to POFQ and it wasn't bad at all. We usually take the boat both ways. I've never been there in August before so I don't know how crowded both will be. I guess we'll find out because I will be there in 20 days and counting.

Was the "fruit punch" carbonated, or was it similar to Fruitopia? My DDs don't drink pop at all. :)

No, the fruit punch and lemonade are still drinks, not carbonated - I only drink still soft drinks too. The only fruit I can taste in the punch is rather sickly cherries though, but it's not too bad if you water it down a bit.

I meant from DTD to FQ. :)
The bus queues at DTD are all identical.

It might be more to the point for you, however, that the bus stops AT the Moderate resorts are different from the bus stops at the Value resorts. s you know, the bus stops at the Value resorts have set queues, railings/bars that you must walk through in order to get to the bus entrance.

But it's not that way at the Moderate resorts. At the Mods, each bus stop is a "free-for-all."

So, in fact, if you decided never to stay at a Value resort again because of an experience at a bus stop at DTD, you actually have it backwards. The physical set-up of the bus stops at DTD are exactly like the physical set-up of each and every bus stop at each of the Moderate resorts. In other words, no matter which Moderate you stay at, when you head to any park in the morning, there is no set bus queue ... it's just a covered area where people wait for buses, and thus when the bus pulls up there is no set order as to who gets on the bus first since there is no queue set up.

We like the size of POFQ and being the first bus stop before POR.
We like the pool of CSR better than a serpent pool.

We are 2 parents, DH & DW, plus an 18 year old DS and 15 year old DD.

I think the serpent pool is to babyish for our kids.
The CSR has a 123 foot janguar water slide and the biggest pool of the moderates.

Also food. The CSR Pepper Market has a large variety of food.
The food court at POFQ seems very limited.
Our DD can not eat wheat and is very limited at POFQ CS.

Convince me of the POFQ
I think you like CSR. Nothing wrong with that.
I don't think most see the POFQ as "babyish", but if you're kids prefer CSR, then that's the place for them. :thumbsup2

We're looking forward to spending some time with our 25yo DD and friend at POFQ. They love the small resort feel of the French Quarter, the quick short walk to the bus, and are really looking forward to relaxing by the pool. They think it's a really fun place to swim!

Disney has lots of resorts. It's not a one size fits all place. :goodvibes

Can anyone comment on the quality of the pack and plays here? We'll need to use one for DD 7.5 mos. when we stay in a couple of weeks! Thanks!

It starts running to DTD at 11:00am but it runs between POR at around 9.

It is the top reason why I love these two resorts, so relaxing and romantic.

Do you think the POFQ rooms will get a rehab soon ?
I have read some bad reports - rugs with stains, paint cips on the walls, scrathes on the furniture.
Are the rooms that bad ?
Any rumors of a rehab at POFQ ?

They just closed the entire resort for a rehab and reopened it in 2004 so I doubt they have any major rehab scheduled.

No Problem we New Hampshirites have to stick together. (Merrimack)

Thanks! I actually just applied for a teaching job in Merrimack...I haven't heard anything, but wish me luck! Glad to know about the yogurt...my DD hasn't gone without one in two years and I'd hate to see what happens without her morning yogi shake!

I have been trying to locate this info through Thread search and researching Portorleans.org website -- as well as allearsnet.com, but I am still not sure I understand. I am trying to figure out where my kids (DS7 and DD5) will sleep if we book a King room at POFQ. I am assuming that there is no pull out couch and it appears that a Trundle is limited to POR. Can I request cots or bring a twin blow up mattress??? Any thoughts? I can not imagine sleeping a double bed for over a week!!

:scratchin
