Sorry,my search doesn´t seem to work.
Could anybody please tell me if they have elevators in the buildings.
We stayed at the CSR this year and although they had them in our building, they didn´t work the hole week and it was annoying the carry luggage and stroller up the stairs.

Thanks in advance
Conny
At POFQ, there is one elevator in each building. Because there is only one per building, not all rooms are conveniently located relative to it.

Not sure about this year, but last year when we were there the last week in October was also World Cup of Paintball (you'd be surprised how many of us pball families stay on-property) and the F&W Festival.

So cool! I am always amazed at the different events that WDW offer. There are so many things I've never heard of!

WELCOME TO THE PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER FAQ

What are the dining options available at POFQ?
Only one dining option is available at the French Quarter side of the Port Orleans resort. Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is a food court with Mardi Gras type decorations. Sassagoula is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is classified as a quick-service restaurant. For a menu please

I hope all of you POFQ experts can help me. My mom needs a fully HC accessible room (roll-in shower) and I understand that some of them have 2 double beds, are the double beds as high as the double beds at other resorts or are they lower to the ground like the king beds in the HC accessible rooms?

We have only begun to need this option and have only been once since needing it and I don't know what to do. Someone messed up our ressie last December and we ended up not getting the room we needed, in June, we were accommodated and it made life alot easier and with a long trip this December, I don't want it to be messed up again, since we will be there for a long trip.

Thank you in advance for any assistance

Suzanne

Well we don't have a ruler but we it measures 6 stacked Heineken cans high.

Lovin' It!:rotfl:

Hmm, I could be wrong here (HC accessible rooms not being my speciality) but I thought that all of the specially fitted rooms with roll-in showers had just the one King-size bed rather than two doubles (to allow more space for wheelchair access).

It might be worth checking out Deb Wills' excellent site (www.allears.net) as I know she has a lot of special needs info on there, including photos of some of the disability-access rooms.

For anyone who has stayed recently--how is the pool temperature? Is it overly warm? I really like to take a refreshing dip in the afternoon, but when the pool is as warm as a shower, it feels like liquid air!

Has anyone ever used the jogging loops that are listed on the map? This will be my first time at this resort in September and wanted to see if anyone had any impressions on the walking/running path? Specifically in the mornings (that's when I would run)... Thanks a bunch!

We were there mid June (16-24). The pool was actually a little cool. We had to move around a lot at first to warm up. :goodvibes

We walked from building 3 to the POR Marina early one morning. The trail was beautiful. It was partially shaded and not crowded at all. We only met a few people as we walked.

Grin, it worries me a bit if the only identifiable thing in your room is beer cars. :)

By the way, on the subject of drinks, did you get a chance to have a look at the soft drink dispenser selection now available in the POFQ or POR food courts - is apple juice now included, or any other non-soda drinks?

Glad you're having a good time,

Andre

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Those six cans might just be what it takes to get her in the bed if it is high.

Yes, Andre that was what I thought, but after talking to someone with more knowledge on the HC accessible rooms and someone that has stayed there, there are rooms that have 2 double beds. The pictures on Deb's site do only show a King bed.

We will do the best we can with what we are given, so we don't have to canel the whole trip :confused3

Thanks for the info.

I have found Disney very good at meeting Handicapped needs, we have stayed in handicapped rooms at POR,AK and PR and my wife never had any problems transfering into the beds unlike when we stayed at the Hyatt and I had to lift her into it, heck at 5'9" I felt like I needed a stepstool to get into it.

I could have used my flip flop, but I didn't think that was as universal.

Soft Drinks: Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Orange, Fruit Punch, Root Beer, Lemon Aid, Sprite, and Sprite Zero.

No apple juice. Although you can buy the in boxes and plastic bottles.

do they sell yogurt anywhere on property? My daughter drinks "yogi shakes" every morning and I'll need to make them on vacation as well...it is our morning routine.

Was the "fruit punch" carbonated, or was it similar to Fruitopia? My DDs don't drink pop at all. :)

We like the size of POFQ and being the first bus stop before POR.
We like the pool of CSR better than a serpent pool.

We are 2 parents, DH & DW, plus an 18 year old DS and 15 year old DD.

I think the serpent pool is to babyish for our kids.
The CSR has a 123 foot janguar water slide and the biggest pool of the moderates.

Also food. The CSR Pepper Market has a large variety of food.
The food court at POFQ seems very limited.
Our DD can not eat wheat and is very limited at POFQ CS.

Convince me of the POFQ
