Been to the world many times over but never for Thanksgiving. This year will be there for Thanksgiving. For those who have been during this time what do you reccomend doing for Thanks. dinner? Was thinking of a table service and also wanted to know if a table service at a resort would be a better option than going into a park on Than. day? Any help is appreciated:goodvibes:goodvibes

For Thanksgiving Dinner I would recommend Liberty Tree Tavern. Hearty portions with delish turkey and many choices.

We've been to WDW T-giving week twice. Both times we've spent the day at our resort. MK has hit capacity by 10am on T-giving Day, they try to send everyone to AK.

We usually enjoy a late character breakfast, spend the day by the pool (if weather permits, it can be CHILLY that week). Last year we scheduled an early 4:30 pm dinner at the Yachtsman's Steakhouse but at the last minute my DH switched us to Mickey's BBQ - which was a nightmare! Transportation to and from Ft WL was horrendous! If I'd ever go that week again (for me twice was enough) I'd stay away from the parks and just relax at the resorts.

Keep in mind that all restaurants will be serving a special menu that day. I'm sure you can search here and view last year's menu. I remember hearing complaints that you could not order a la carte at Yachtsman's Steakhouse and order a specialty steak. They did offer steak on the holiday menu, just not all their specialty steaks.

My one piece of advice is to avoid Epcot the day after T-giving Day. It was CRAZY crowded since all the holiday festivities begin that day. Plan to go to any other park that day.

Read something on here yesterday that someone went to the Brown Derby at DHS for Thanksgiving Dinner and thought it was really good.

BOATWRIGHT'S.
Most underated thanksgiving meal on site. Everyone wants to go to the popular/ in park places on that day, but let me tell you we go EVERY year to WDW during thanksgiving. We always eat at Boatwright's and we walk out needing a wheelchair, wagon, or other mobile vehicle lol.
In fact last year we took my DM for her first TG in WDW and we ate there, she called me over the weekend to ask if we were going to WDW again this year. If so, can she come and can we eat at Boatwright's again.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts!! This helps! anyone know when menues for Thank. Day will come out?
:cutie:

We had excellent turkey and all the trimmings at Cape May on Christmas Day 2009. I woudl assume that their Thanksgiving meal would be similar. Plus, they had other options (including crab legs) as well.

We've eaten at Biergarten a lot on Thanksgiving and loved it. They have the regular German buffet but they also have traditional Thanksgiving foods on that day as well. It is great and entertaining as well. We can't have Thanksgiving at Disney World without having Biergarten.
