In the state of Mass, if you are at a traffic light that is red, and you are allowed to turn right on red, you must stop for 3 seconds before turning. How do I know this??? As I sat in the back seat of the car, as my dd took her drivers license test, she scooted through and turned right. The tester, a state cop at that time, asked her what she had done wrong. She had no idea. She told him that she was able to turn right on red, right? Yes, he said..but only after stopping for at least 3 seconds. And that each car had to make that same 3 sec stop.
That's the point I was going to make. Many people treat a right turn on red like a yield. You do have to come to a complete stop.
