I read the other thread...all you need to know about the DDP, but I wanted to check and see if anyone had any personal experience. We are taking a last min trip so there isn't much to choose from as far as ADRS. We are thinking maybe Teppanyaki (we have nothing like this near us) but I wanted to know if the combo meals (I'm thinking about the steak/scallop combo) are included on the DDP?

In December 2006, the combo meals were included on the DDP; in fact, I had the steak/scallop combo that you mentioned. We also got an appetizer (most people had salad, but I had the edamame), dessert (ice cream or cake), and a beverage (non-alcoholic, of course).

Not that you asked, but we were disappointed in Teppanyaki. We do have a good Japanese hibachi steakhouse near home, and I'm sure that's part of the reason.

Hope this helps.

No I appreciate the input!! We were hoping for Coral Reef but it's booked so we were looking for one more TS restaurant. We don't have a place like Teppanyaki anywhere near us so it would be a bit different. If the food is bad it is not worth it though!!

IMHO, the food is great! This is a family favorite, and it is our first night tradition. The staff is VERY polite, the chefs are very skilled, and we have never ever had a bad meal in some 20+ visits. They are great with kids, and we are looking forward to going now after the rehab.

The food is great, my seven year old son still talks about this restaurant. They taught him how to use chopsticks. He still has them. I had shrimp and scallops on the dining plan.

It was great!

We had dinner there last Sept on the free dining plan. My ex and I both ordered scallops and steak, while my mom ordered shrimp and scallops. We had a great time. Oh yeah, I wanted sushi and the waitress made sure I understood that it wasn't included on the DDP, but she let me use my DDE card for it with no problem. We noticed some of the chefs were more entertaining than others though. Ours was just OK, but the female chef next to us was really good and absolutely hilarious.

I'm glad that our negative experience at Teppanyaki doesn't seem to be the majority opinion! In comparison to the similar restaurant near home, we thought the food at Teppanyaki was more bland. The chef used much less garlic, the salad dressing had a much milder ginger flavor, and the green tea ice cream tasted almost like vanilla. But all of this is just a matter of preference. If you go, I hope you enjoy it! :)

I've only been to Teppanyaki once but really enjoyed the food and the show that the chef at the hibachi puts on for you! We're going back again in Sept. and December!

One of our must do's! We enjoyed Teppanyaki so much that when I heard of the rehab I about cried thinking it wouldn't be open in time for our trip. We really enjoyed the food and walked out stuffed, but comfortably stuffed. ;)

Not sure when your "last minute" trip is, but isn't Teppanyaki still closed for rehab through mid July?

Also, it is not currently listed under the DDE plan, but appears to be listed for DDP.

DW and I ate there on our first trip and liked it. I helped teach a woman from Sweden I think and her son on how to use chopsticks...

Darn it! We're going in less than two weeks! Ok we need one more place to eat. Currently we have concourse steakhouse, and wolfgang puck cafe. Help!!

I'd still call and ask...it can't hurt, and I believe the date has changed before...but have a backup.

If you're going to be at Epcot, we are partial to the Rose & Crown, but its all a matter of choice. What you can get an ADR for at this late time I'm not sure. Le Cellier is the hardest to get right now, but you could get something due to cancellations.

We ate at Teppanyaki in Feb with the ddp, and DH was able to get the steak and chicken combo with no problem. We really enjoyed our meal, and will go again.

I could have sworn that I read somewhree else on the Dis that certain Sushi was included on the DDP for your appetizer. Would this be a new thing or I am just mistaken??

Per Mousesavers:

Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki Restaurant, Matsu No Ma Lounge and Tempura Kiku (Epcot) closed through 8/20/07 for refurbishment.

What are you doing on the day you need an ADR for (which if any of the parks will you be visiting)? How many are in your party and what are their ages and likes/dislikes? Will you have a car or will you be dependent on Disney transportation? Does it have to be dinner or are you open to breakfast or lunch?

We really have no plans! This is a last minute trip and the one thing everyone wants to do is see Wishes. This is also an opportunity for us to use the DDP (we normally don't) and eat at places we wouldnt have thought of eating! We're 3 adults with a car. We'd prefer dinner so we can use the CS credits for lunch and eat breakfast in the room. We'll try just about anywhere once!

I haven't actually been yet, but we are going in September and I am really looking forward to raglan Road in Downtown Disney. It is an Irish restaurant with live music and dancing. I have heard great things about the food too. If you are in Epcot and want to try something different, I have heard great things about Marrakesh. I am told it is a hidden gem and not too exotic. Le Cellier is the place to be if you really like steak. Good Luck and let us know how it goes!
