We're thinking of going to Teppanyaki during our June trip. We have three kids - the youngest of who will not eat anything!!!! I did not see a children's menu posted anywhere - do they have a different menu for kids and would they allow our four year old to sit and not eat and not charge for him?

They do have a children's menu but it is limited to just a couple of choices. They may charge an entertainment fee for the 4 year old. I thought they did for adults but not sure about kids.

We have gone to several tepanyaki restaurants with our son, now 3 1/2. The first time we went, he was 15 months, he loved our shrimp. We gave him a little piece, and we ended up ordering him some. Now he won't even touch it. He is a very picky eater and will not try things. Luckily he likes white rice, so that is what he gets when we go to our local ones, we just order him a side of white rice for his meal. It is a huge scoop of it and he loves trying to use the chopsticks...one grain of rice at a time. The rice isn't expensive if you wanted to give that a try, usually we don't get charged here, but it shows 1.50 or 2.00 on our menus. Just an idea!!

My kids really enjoyed it when the were young and they enjoy it now as teens and 20's. I doubt they would charge your son anything if he didn't eat. There are lots of times when there is an empty seat at the table. They try to fill them by combining two families but that doesn't mean it always works. He would at least get something to drink. I think he would enjoy it even if he just "looked".

My 11 yr old picky eater loves the rice and the steak. It's one of his favorite places to eat.

My DD8 requested this restaurant for her birthday dinner last June. Yes, there is a children's menu but we split an adult meal without any questions. We also visited in December, and once again, split an adult meal. My husband doesn't eat mushroom, so they gave his portion to our daughter. I wouldn't think you would have any trouble having a child sit there and if they felt like eating taking a piece or two from your plate.

My DS is the pickiest and they were so accomodating at this restaurant. We are going back next week and he asked if we could go back for dinner. He was wicked impressed with the "volcano"the chef made of an onion. There was a kids menu but DS got rice,a fruit salad bowl, steak and some veggies that he didnt like.We got ice cream for dessert and the kids got some fruit punch thing in a glass with umbrella. It was a bit pricey but the best meal we had.Someone else at our table got lobster and that looked really yummy but we had alread ordered. They also had some nodles and a vegetarian dish my DD liked. They put an elastic on chop stix so kids could use.It was a lot of fun. :cool1:

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to know that maybe my two older children could split an adult meal. As for my youngest, he doesn't eat rice, noodles, beef or any of the things you mentioned. He'll eat PB & J, but not the uncrustable kind served many places at WDW, he'll eat chicken nuggets, but not chicken strips. I don't know how my two oldest kids have always eaten anything put in front of them and the third one wound up eating next to nothing. Anyway - thanks for the replies!
