Tempted by sin...

I'm not tempted because my mom lied about mine and my big sis's age when we were kids. It was so embarrassing and it made me feel so guilty and dirty. Employees could see right through her lies, but she would make such an embarrassing scene if they questioned her that they would give the free or reduced price (whatever went with the age) to get her out of their face. If I don't like the price of something, I either don't go or don't buy whatever.

I am not sure with MYW tickets but I know with Annual Passes that if you child turns 10 throughout the year that they have the child pass you won't need to upgrade to an adult. But like I said I am not sure if its the same with the MYW tickets especially with non-expiring. I just don't want to get flamed for this though fo I guess I need to duck!! LOL

:thumbsup2 Same for the MYW tickets. If she had purchased the orginal 10 day non ex for a child she could have legally let her son use it even after he turned 10. You just go to the ticket center and they upgrade it for free to an adult.

ummm...no one attacked anybody on this thread....if you re-read her first post, she basically called us all 'liars' ........here wait, I'll show you:

himmmm...that is a pretty judgemental and elitist attitude to me. Look, I don't care what you people do--one way or another. If you want to not lie about a child that turned 3 a couple weeks earlier, then more power to you. But no one here should judge someone else because they chose a different path.

hummmmm....I don't need any help, thank you. I did read the whole thread. It was pretty one-sided with many snide remarks toward anyone who might think that lying about your child's age to get them in free is wrong with comments like "high moral majority".

She didn't call you all liars. :confused3 She said "is it ok to lie and steal from Disney?" "Is it ok for Disney to lie and steal from you?" She's asking a simple question. If you do not buy your 3 year old a ticket, it's lying and it's stealing...so how can her questions be judgemental and an elitist attitute? :confused3 It is what it is...lying and stealing.

The OP called it a 'sin' and 'cheating the Happiest Place on Earth' but no one attacked him or called him "judgemental' or "high moral majority" or that he had an "elitist attitute". :confused3

Cant we ask for a sticky or something:

"Kids tickets. If your kid is over 3, they need a park pass. Half the people on this board think it is ok to say a kid is 2 when they are 3. The other half think it is absolulty wrong. If you want to do it, do it, but dont ask anyones opinion, because you WILL get differing opinions. And then the fighting begins. Please dont ask about reusing refillable mugs from year to year either."

I would rather be thanked by a CM for being honest (which I was at MNSSHP in '04) than being questioned by them. Plus there is no way I could get my DD to say she was younger. Right now she is all about being 4. It's her favorite number....this year. ;)

since I'm staying at the POR in a couple weeks, can I use the CSR pool, and then pool-hop on over to the Grand Floridian???.......of course I'll be bringing my refillable mug with me so I can drink up all the GF and CSR soda.....

LOL. this is a joke (why do I feel I need to explain that)?

Personally, the thought has crossed my mind and I am not going to disclose what conclusion I came up with.
This tend to hint at it. ;)

Actually the thought is fine, but the acting on it is not.

Wow...what in the world did I start? I meant this as a purely humorous post and nothing more. I just wanted to see if there were others like me who thought about saving the $200 and then thought better that Disney deserves it since they have given me so many fond memories. Anyway I will be much more careful as to what questions I ask in the future...although in all the questions I've posed in order to get info or help I have never recieved this many responses...so maybe I should start my questions off with these sort of questions...LOL :teeth: thanks, for the responses

Oh no!!!! mousekeeping told me to keep a towel animal too. Is that a SIN!!!! I'm going down.
Actually this is not a sin. When we got a towel animal I asked at the front desk to pay for it so we could take it home. They said if it was left in your room you are free to take it.

And lets be honest---lying about a birthday that is a few weeks different does not constitute 'stealing'---I mean, we're not talking about going into a Disney store and stealing clothing or whatever.
Please explain to me how these two are different? :confused3

If I need to explain that to you, then you have more issues than I thought.....

Who said its not fine? Mickeyfan2 said so? I guess you drive 55 miles an hour ALL day EVERY day, and never exceed the speed limit. I guess you've never called off work when you were 'less' than sick? I guess growing up you never lied about your age?

See what I mean.....some of you take this context and blow it all out of proportion to suit your moral idealisms. Sad part is, you'll be looking for a LONG time before you find the perfect person on this board....

:rotfl2: deleted my sane reply to the op after i read the tone of some other posts and figured why bother giving a normal answer :rotfl2:

Oh, I dunno, Boxer. All lagunaseca was doing is suggesting, like I did, that these threads usually have a short but interesting lifespan because of the way the topic polarizes people. The "downward spiral" starts when the labels start flying -- "you're a liar and a bad parent". "No, you're an elitist hypocrite". LOL. Me, I'm just a miserable fence-sitting moderate. I can see both sides of the issue, but I'll take to my grave which side I'd ultimately fall on. ;)

but what if i am a lying elitist hypocritcal bad parent...then where do i sit? :rotfl2:

What issues. I asked you to explain your comment and you get snarky with me!!!! :confused3 The only one with issues is you. Sorry.

Disney's property/Disney's rule. And there rule is under 3 is free. So you now you think you make the rule!!! Oh boy.

Actually not when the speed limit is 30, that would be speeding!!! :teeth:

Nope, so what do you have to say about that.

boxer said:

Why would I need to?

See what I mean
Nope. But that is fine with me. I would not want to be where you think I should be or where you are. ;)

For the sake of a couple of weeks, they're getting enough money off of you. Flame me if you will but if you're paying $x for a vacation, then charging you $x+300 for a week's difference is just harsh. Yes, I know there have to be rules, but a couple of weeks won't make any difference. You're already spending a fortune there, and you'll probably go back when you won't lie about anything and pay the full, fair rate for everything.

I used to do this when I'd just turned 16 on the trains back home. Somehow, over the space of a DAY my fare to any destination doubled, because suddenly I was an "adult". I made two trips the month after my birthday and because I look young for my age, I still paid half fare as a "child". I've got to pay full fare now until the day that I die, so I just made the most of those couple of trips at child prices ;) Hey, at least I'm still using the trains, instead of driving around in a car :confused3

I know it's wrong but it bugs me that after one day passes suddenly you're charged double the amount you would have paid yesterday.

mickeyfan2, you know that is the EXACT response I expected you to give  .....i'm just wondering how they hide your computer lines in a glass house?

BTW, who says 'snarky' anymore? LOL. Maybe back in the nifty-50's that was hip, but I'm sure you could have come up with a better word than that? lol.

Still not answering the question, but being snarky again. Well good for you and keep up the good work. :thumbsup2 And I never expected you to answer the question. :rolleyes2

This one is inevitably a hot topic. First, personally, I wouldn't lie about my kids age. DD will be 3 in June, but she is VERY small, to the point where she may need Growth Hormone Shots at puberty. People always ask if she can talk yet, since she is the same size as her 1 yr old brother. I still will pay for her as a 3 yr old on any future trips(this time we are going in May). That being said......the OP asked if you were ever TEMPTED.

HELL YES. :lmao: Of COURSE, I thought about it. Who wouldn't, especially at these prices. It crossed my mind and being the way I am, I immediately felt guilty about it. :teeth:

I know some people would and some wouldn't. To each their own, I just couldn't sleep if I did it. And if you could, not my place to judge you. :)
