I'm actually paying the adult rate for my 9yo this fall. I know, I know. Why? Well, we figured the tickets every which way. Without boring you with all the details, we were planning three separate trips (one of which was a single day. Ouch! They really get you on that price). Well, with the way the tickets get ridiculously cheap as you add on days, we finally ended up with a 10-day ticket with no expiration option. Since my DS would be turning 10 in the middle of all that, it actually ended up being cheaper to buy him an adult 10-day than a child 5-day and adult 5-day.

Oh, I said I wouldn't bore you with the details and look how long my post is. Oops

BTW, took my just turned 3yo (by weeks, mind you) a few years back and insisted on buying him a ticket. DH just rolled his eyes at me but didn't give me too hard a time. :rolleyes1

Just so Crazy4 doesn't get into trouble.... let's ponder exactly what might be in Disney Hell...... Ice cream bars are probably out, but the turkey legs would be good.

flame tree BBQ ribs be even better........

Are you people crazy? This is so very, very wrong... :stir:

:lmao: :lmao:

I thought about it because DD will be just past three, but she's ALREADY big for her age now, plus she's smart as as whip and would instantly correct me if I was EVER wrong. She's in the three-year-old class at gymnastics at 21/2, and every time they ask her if she's three, she says "No! I'm two!" (and promptly holds up her index finger  ). I put her in there so I didn't have to do the parent-tot class...

I think she'd take down a CM who tried to ask her how old she is. Go, girl! :woohoo:

BTW: Maybe I should sic her on people who try to cut in front of parade watchers or jump lines...

I am not sure with MYW tickets but I know with Annual Passes that if you child turns 10 throughout the year that they have the child pass you won't need to upgrade to an adult. But like I said I am not sure if its the same with the MYW tickets especially with non-expiring. I just don't want to get flamed for this though fo I guess I need to duck!! LOL

I've never been tempted, but I did plan a trip where our last day would be November 18 because my youngest was turning 3 on November 19.

First, my answer to the original poster. No I don't think it's wrong to "think about it" , which of us have not at some time or another thought about different possibilities but I do think it would be wrong to do it.

For others... I have a question ...... if it's ok to lie and steal from Disney.... is it ok for Disney to lie and steal from you?

I quess I'm just a proud member of the "high moral majority". I'm not judging... but I thought it was wrong to lie and steal.

soooooo, GoofyBaseballMom, we can assume that you have never in your whole life here on earth, lied about anything??????

You live a very sheltered and naive life if you don't think big-business lie's and steals from you on a daily basis.......I love Disney with all my heart, but I'm not naive enough to think that they have my best interests at heart----they are tying to make a buck any way they can.........and although you don't like to hear it--I'm trying to save a buck any way I can.

And lets be honest---lying about a birthday that is a few weeks different does not constitute 'stealing'---I mean, we're not talking about going into a Disney store and stealing clothing or whatever.

No, I'm not saying that at all. But is someone asks me if it's wrong to lie, leading to what amounts to stealing... yes I think it's wrong. And I do try not to lie and I don't steal. I don't think that puts me in the minority. Please don't get upset with me for giving an honest answer that you might not agree with.

BTW.... would YOU be mad if Disney stole from you? I would!

is it ok for Disney to . . . steal from you?

Last September on a sweltering afternoon we had staked out a spot for a parade and every kid around was about to pass out from the heat. To the rescue came the vendors hawking those battery-powered waterbottle fans for $15.00 that retail for about $1.99 at Wal Mart. That's when I asked myself the question you just posed. ;)

the way that Disney steals from us is what I consider "legal stealing". I know that sounds wierd, but look how much they charge for everything. You can bet they're not going hungry.

In the meantime, if you put the life-span of this thread on a 24 hour clock, I think it's about 11:55 p.m. ;)

I was waiting for it to get ugly!!! I admit it I lie, cheat, steal, throw out recyclables, put whoppie cushons under seats, etc... but then again I'm a lawyer! People expect that from me! :lmao:

LOL. I bet you run with scissors too, you cad!

YOU THROW OUT RECYCLEABLES!!??? :scared1: IMO, that is way worse than lying about your child's age!!!! LOL :rotfl:

Boxer,

Maybe I am being naive.... but I don't understand the difference between not paying the price of admission because you lie (which is stealing BTW) and stealing clothing... both are taking things with monetary worth that you are not entitled to. Just because one suits your purpose better does not make it right.

In response to your comment about big business... yes, I am well aware of unscrupulous business practices etc and that's why for the most part I can pick and choose who I do business with.

I really don't want to get into a battle with anyone on this thread. We were asked a question and I answered it. Do what you need to do and I'll do the same.

Wow, you are brave. This thread has thus far been pretty one-sided and as we can see from the replies to your post with your honest answer to the OP, you're attacked for disagreeing with the majority. They must tear you down to feel better I guess.

Absolutely no good can come from this thread, OP.

The second someone voices a different position on the subject, the thread 'got ugly'? I don't get it. :confused3

Probably would be a tad hotter than Orlando in July! :furious: :thumbsup2

ummm...no one attacked anybody on this thread....if you re-read her first post, she basically called us all 'liars' ........here wait, I'll show you:

himmmm...that is a pretty judgemental and elitist attitude to me. Look, I don't care what you people do--one way or another. If you want to not lie about a child that turned 3 a couple weeks earlier, then more power to you. But no one here should judge someone else because they chose a different path.
