Tell me the "weather" where you live.

Cold rain/sleet here.

We made it home from NC last night about 9:20. Pouring rain last night and 45. This morning was dry, but 38 and windy. As the day went on, the temps dropped and it was flurrying, sleeting and raining while we tried to up pack and rewinterize.

Woke up this morning to 1.5 inches of snow under 3/8 inch of ice. All the trees and other surfaces likewise were ice encased. Happily rain eased to near zero and wind rose to point most of the ice broke off the trees and it only took a half hour to clean off each of the cars. Snow started late this afternoon and has since ended but expected to resume tonight into some time tomorrow

Candlemas Day - 2nd February

Candlemas Day weather - "If Candlemas Day be fair and bright, winter will have another fight. If Candlemas Day brings cloud and rain, winter won't come again". Check the weather today.

It’s cold, 43 feels like 37. High today of 56. Plan to work today instead of taking it off.

We got over a foot of snow yesterday from the storm, it is supposed to get up to a balmy 33 degrees today. And they are predicting another storm on Sunday that looks worse than the one we just got. Gotta love winter in New England. NOT!!!!

We got 12" out of this latest round. More snow in the past 6 days than we'd had the entire season leading up to it. My wish would be that it would go away as quickly as it came on, but things are not looking nearly that promising. Looks like we are in for an unpleasant stretch for teh next few weeks!

I HATE the ice over/under snow. I can manage the snow, but the freezing rain and ice make things 10x more miserable. Sorry!

Yes. We have surplus. 2 feet already and 6" more to come overnight...

Can't believe the reports I'm seeing coming out of the east coast. After 4 years living in SE MA I'd be perfectly happy to never hear the word Nor'easter again! Stay safe and warm!

So just a light dusting
For up here, yes. Stores still have plenty of milk and bread.

5 inches so far and still coming down, blowing pretty good also. Snow continues over night into tomorrow morning.

You're very kind, but I think we're good, thanks!
We've got another month of the same forecast anyway , so Glenshee ski resort is looking great at least LOL.

Ronaldo,

You win the Internet for tonight on the DIS Camping Board in my opinion.

Are you anywhere near Fort Williams and Ben Nevis Mountain? I would love to climb it - it's on my bucket list.

Oh and the Jacobite Steam train to Mallaig from FW. That's on my list too.

Thank you Ed,
We live just outside Edinburgh so we are about 100 miles from Fort William and Ben Nevis. A summer visit would be best for your bucket list, the scenery on the west coast is spectacular.
The snow here in Edinburgh is only a few inches deep but in the Highlands....well........
This is the Cawdor Highland Estate Rangers jeep yesterday checking out the that the wildlife is still okay......
Hope you like it

Mike

I want the snow blower that cut that path.

I've seen the ones on the front of a locomotive to clear the tracks.

I saw one that can do that cut in operation about 10 years ago. Just a little cost prohibitive and super high maintenance . Scoop is approx 5 feet tall by 8 feet across with 2 tiered augers and and double discharge impellers. It is self propelled thanks to a 10 wheel dump truck
