Direct Buying Process VS Resale

Do you know if financing direct requires a notary as well?
It does, with or without financing AFAIK. But Disney provides a remote online notary service, so it’s fairly convenient.

My recent timeline has been something like:

Feb 3: put down a deposit on a direct purchase, no financing, scheduled payments to be completed by March 20 at the guide’s direction, points loaded same day and paperwork sent to my inbox

Feb 10: reduced contract size from 300 to 150, half of points removed same day [sadness LOL] [but really it’s okay don’t cry for me Argentina]

Feb 12: signed all the paperwork on my end and scheduled my remote notary for Feb 23

So as you can see, those points get loaded right away and everything else happens at what I would call a relaxed pace. Disney knows how to give you that instant dopamine hit.

I'm sure I will get addicted to one bedrooms during this upcoming trip

Yes - that happens. Hard to stay in studios after the villa experience.

I read every word for resale. I guess I blindly trust Disney

Trust is a nice thing to have, but since you can't change/negotiate any element of the direct purchase contract your trust is either irrelevant or implicit or both!

I do too, I'm thinking I may waive the title insurance when it's directly thru Disney

It was a rounding error in my contracts so I paid for it but it really is unnecessary to have title insurance on direct deals sold by Disney.

What is this remote notary like a FaceTime call?

All direct purchases now require a notary provided online by them.
That's great that they provide it. I paid too much for our mobile notary to come. The title agent informed me today that she got everything from us all good and waiting for seller. If they take forever then I should have just gone to the bank 🤣

I bought 100 points last month and put down the 10% on my credit card. I have my first contract in my trust so I need to fill out a separate form. My guide sent me the old one, which I got notarized, so I’m getting the new one notarized today at Chase and will send back. Got the point later in the day I bought and already started planning a trip.

I can’t speak for resale but Disney lets you put the entire purchase on credit cards. So I split them up between different cards with different rewards. They paid for a majority of the airfare as well as some of the hotels for our Europe trip last year and are with are paying a good chunk for another vacation this year.

I’ve only bought Aulani resale, so I assumed all resale needed a notary. I tell myself I’m not buying anymore points, but in case that turns out to be a lie, that’s good to know other resorts don’t need it haha
At least they pay for it then I'll do whatever lol

They didn't provide you the mobile notary?

I always wondered what if you already own a deed and do something horrible, are you forced to sell? Because disney can't just take it without giving you your money back if it's all paid off right?

I just financed my direct purchase....and it required a notary. Very easy process....all virtual. Took 10 min. tops. To add my apt. was a Sunday morning. I do plan to have it all paid off in a year...just wanted to buy myself a little time.

Same situation here, I want these points for our trip this year, makes no sense to pay cash and then get it
