Tell me the "weather" where you live.

N. Va getting snow. You would think it would be crazy at the store. Yet went to the local Giant around 11 this morning and had no issues getting our weekly food list. Lots of bread, milk and eggs available. So I guess the French toast snow storm people haven’t panicked yet?

Forecast is for 5-10 for the suburban area. My old house at a higher elevation could see a foot, I think being at the base of bull run mountain, we might see 10.

Tiggerdad texted a while ago to see how it was going. He said he was in his deer stand and sent a nice pic. I mentioned it was probably in the 50s and he said, nope! 62.

I plan on talking to a couple of realtors again while we are down at GSP next June. Still determining the most cost effective location.

Yes sir, little warm in the deerstand this evening. Windy. Storms rolling in here in about an hour.

After that it'll be cold by our Southern standards. They saying chance of freezing rain on Friday. Of course, by then it'll change to sunburn weather.

You folks keep the snow.

I saw a device in a 2nd hand store here about 2 years ago. Had sign hanging on it that literally said "it's a snowblower" because nobody knew what the hell it was.

Not sure if they are waiting to plow anymore in town until after the last of the snow goes through overnight, but the snow cut off mid afternoon and this is still what the roads look like.

These are 2 major roads through town.

We only have had 6-7 inches. This is usually cleared much better once it quits snowing. Driveable, but a little surprising it isn't in better shape.

We just got all rain. The temperatures will be below freezing soon and the roads will be icy. No plans to go out for us.

Edit to add: we might get some snow at some point today.

Snow has stopped. I had plowed my driveway yesterday after the first 6 inches. You can't really tell this morning. Appears we ended up with 9-10 inches.

At least it is done snowing. Looks like we might get more at the end of the week and on Sunday.

We ended up with 11 inches on top of a glaze of ice. Roads are still terrible. I'm really hoping I can work virtually tomorrow and that the Friday snow does not happen. Jim Cantore was super excited about the thundersnow.

Well, the pictures sure are beautiful. I spent a very snowy winter in Germany many years ago, and lived in far Northern Calif where we got a few inches of snow a year, some years enough to snarl traffic but it was usually gone in a few days. No snow where we are now, we have to head up into the Sierras on a 'snow drive' which we often do.

So for us today it's a high today of 58 and plenty of sunshine. The sun is warm enough to hang laundry out on the line lol. Overnight low of 42. DH says if the sunshine continues, he'll have to get the riding mower out haha.

Monday was a pretty snow and school bound people where happy we got off.

We clearly have two types of dogs when it comes to snow….

Monday night I cleared the first round of snow and got my winter wonderland pics….

We got about another inch and a half overnight, and school was already announced closed for Tuesday. Today we cleaned off the cars, and cleaned up the driveway and opened up the from the street plows. Thanks to the temps not getting above 30 today and how bad neighborhood roads are. Here are mine at 5pm….and locals are not winter weather drivers….they can barely handle dry sunny days…

I expect them to go back Thursday. Me, I been working everyday.

On Friday we are supposed to get 4+ inches of snow. For us that's a lot of snow!

If it is uncommon for your area I bet it will be a mess. We get snow, but you would never think we did with how the area reacts.

Denise,

I've been tracking the Friday snow since earlier this week. It was going to glance STL (1-3 inches), but the latest models have it shifted south. STL will likely get nothing, but you are in the 6+ band as of this morning's model. The green is >50% chance of 6 inches or more. That's a lot for TN!

We are supposed to get snow, sleet, and freezing rain on Friday. Glad i will be at Disney. I will be cold but it will be better than Atlanta.

That's great timing. One of our administrative interns is from ATL and was home for the holidays until this past weekend, a day before we got 10 inches of snow. She lives close and walked to work yesterday and all she could talk about was, "I've never seen this much snow!" Her mom came back with her and had her flight home delayed until today. She hasn't decided if she likes all the snow. She definitely hates the cold (15 this morning).

We might get a couple more inches of snow on Friday, but the most of it is definitely going south. If ATL gets snow/iced in, that's a good excuse to just stay at the Boardwalk for a little longer.

I have extended my run Disney weekend before when Atlanta had weather. It was at a time when Bert’s folks would snowbird at the Villages. We spend the day at Disney then the next two nights with his folks before we drove home.

Yep, they are now saying 6-8 inches for us. We went grocery shopping yesterday morning, they we're fairly stocked. The exception was bread. It is now 14 degrees. Everyone, keep safe and warm.

We got a dusting of snow but air temps will be above freezing all day.

This was just a pocket of snow but had rain before it and rain now. We are on the edge of the snow line in the "wintery mix" category.

Should drizzle off/on all day before moisture moves out.

Stay warm and hopefully you warm up above freezing to help some of it melt.

WOW!

That's a lot of snow for Tuscaloosa. Did they cancel school and open the panic isle at Winn Dixie? :) It is pretty.

We are getting another couple of inches today. I drove to work. Ian took the Jeep to work so I drove the RS since it shouldn't get deep. Mix of wet and mostly snow covered for the 30 mile drive in. The RS is a beast in this stuff and everyone else was doing a good job. Going home will probably be the issue.
