This?I mean if you love the characters, you will probably want to go to moonlight magic to see rare characters and other meet and greets they offer if you're a big fan and go to member cruises where the voice of mickey mouse is and other Disney fan things.
Maybe some wouldnt, but every big Disney fan friend I know that isnt DVC is jealous I went to MM. I cant wait to go on a Member cruise and get the swag and see some other unique things like the princesses singing or a Coco singing performance just for direct members. Would have loved to go to the Stacia Martin presentation at Disney hotel this year too and I couldnt because, resale.
But like I said, for now, the longer hotel stays in better rooms and family time took priority Over the fun members only Disney events
No it was different than that, it was a performance of the entire song by the singer where you get to sit down and dont have to fight to see the character singing without cast members telling you to keep moving repeatedly, it was very beautiful. This?
I guess i don't fit into all of that. I really don't care about characters, it's just some dude in a costume.
MM, is rare to be able to line up with my schedule so i definitely don't need to pay $1,000's for it, when i can just pay $200 for an after hours event that lines up with my schedule much more often, but i get the FOMO, it's not a wrong decision, i'm just saying not all disney fans WILL regret not owning Direct.
I'm going to strongly suggest buying Polynesian direct. You've been all over the map about what you like and what you need. If you purchase direct, without any restrictions, I think that no matter which way the wind blows, you'll be happy with your purchase as it'll offer more opportunities/options than pretty much anything else. Not really a question but I need more points so how should I get them? I was talking about characters, they are most certainly people in costumes. No it was different than that, it was a performance of the entire song by the singer where you get to sit down and dont have to fight to see the character singing without cast members telling you to keep moving repeatedly, it was very beautiful.
No one was in a costume, but Disney does have consist of a lot characters in costumes and cartoon characters. The $200 events add up over the years especially if you go to multiple or have a big family and have to buy food. Its nice that they throw in multiple MMs included for members.
But youre right in that some people that like going to the hotels and theme parks that bought resale may not regret it, I just dont categorize them as people that really love Disney as a whole. Maybe they love the nice hotels, the service, rides in general, bought for their family, like good food, etc.
I would like to add, are you going to feel FOMO with the new resorts? It doesn’t seem like DVC is going to stop building. They know what’s going to be next after LSL even if we don’t. If they convert Yacht club, does that trigger FOMO? If they build a DVC resort at the entrance of Villians Land, does that trigger FOMO? I know these are what ifs, but are atleast a 5 minute ponder. Not really a question but I need more points so how should I get them? Direct or indirect ? SSR or Poly?
Because I want to book bigger, better and might not want to be locked out of newer resortsWHY?
Not sure about that post but it was a reply to mine which I just want to clarify. I was just asking “Why” you need more points. Knowing the “Why” helps figure out the best answer.Excuse me??
Gotcha.Because I want to book bigger, better and might not want to be locked out of newer resorts
We’ll be locked out of the new ones not all of them. So far there is only 3.Also, when the 2042 contracts end, resale after 2019 will be locked out of those too
What about when they re-do the 2042 contracts? I’m sure they will put restrictions on them.Gotcha.
Wanting bigger or better, may need to get more specific in which ones. Some point charts are much higher than others.

Yes I agree 100%I'm going to strongly suggest buying Polynesian direct. You've been all over the map about what you like and what you need. If you purchase direct, without any restrictions, I think that no matter which way the wind blows, you'll be happy with your purchase as it'll offer more opportunities/options than pretty much anything else.
Yes I would be shocked to not see those restricted especially if they redo boardwalk and beach club. I wouldnt even be surprised to see them somehow make those fall into a different category (trust owners get to book first, people paying for a membership magic beyond get to book first etc) to boost more current direct salesWhat about when they re-do the 2042 contracts? I’m sure they will put restrictions on them.

Summer seems to have the best incentives but im sure it will be more than before and im sure that they will raise the price early next year. And I dont think Poly incentives will be much better because they dont need to be. Riv might have a sale to close it out and it seems the incentives are always better thereThe trend is almost always in one direction - total cost is more expensive. It is rare, although not impossible, that incentives improve from one incentive period to another.
That said, as I recall, the UY on you resale contract is February. If you want direct points to match your resale contract UY, that is a more significant deadline for a direct points purchase because as long as you purchase prior to Feb 1st, you'll get full points all the way back to Feb 2025 (which can also be sold back to Disney for $20/point, which can be quite a discount on a direct points purchase).
Also, just noting that for December travel, keep in mind that with a Feb UY, if you were to cancel any December reservations, even if 30 days in advance, those points would have to be used by the end of January or be forfeited.
