Hello all,

Just looking for some opinions on JetBlue. I have never flown JB because it doesn't fly out of my 'home' airport - Hartford/Springfield Bradley Intl. airport. Never even looked on JB because it's not at Bradley. Well, something made me look at JB today. Come to find out they fly out of Boston (1.5 hrs from home - a little farther but doable). I priced out 4 tix for our Sept. vacation and got 4 tix for $870 - direct flights and good times!!! WOW. Everything else I have seen out of Bradley so far is, at best, around $320 per ticket.

So, I'm looking for more info from those who have flown JetBlue. Your experiences?? Love it? Hate it? Fill me in!

THANKS!

Editing to reiterate - we will be flying in September....so hopefully no ice/snowstorms to worry about!!

I've flown Jet Blue from NY to Orlando, and I fly Jet Blue from Boston to New York every other week or so. I love them, they're usually on time, good fares, and you can't beat those TVs.

Love it. If $870 is doable for you, buy the tickets now. Then keep an eye on JetBlue's website as September draws closer - if your exact fares drop, you can call and get a credit to be used on a future flight! Also, they only charge $30 for change/cancellations; they have tv sets in the seatbacks; they have unlimited (albeit little) snacks like um, those blue potato chips, or a chocolate chip cookie - that kind of thing. The planes are all one class - they just took out a row of seats near the front of each plane, so now the pitch in rows 1 - 11 is 36" (from the back of one seat to the back of the seat behind it) while the rest of the plane's pitch is a 'mere' 34 inches :)

I believe the change fee is actually $25 if you do it online, $30 by phone. and i'm pretty sure if you cancel within more than an hour's notice, you keep full credit for the flight.

for me, it's

* unlimited snacks / soft drinks
* free direct satellite tv (some aircraft have xm in addition)
* low change fee (as mentioned)
* incredible customer service (missed a flight while i was in the airport and they gave me a seat on the next flight, no questions asked... changed a flight one time on me by moving it 10 minutes back and kept calling me until i acknowledged it)
* easy credit when fares drop

i guess the leather seats are a plus, the legroom.. some even love the dunkin donuts coffee (i don't drink coffee).. and it doesn't hurt that they've won the Conde Nast readers poll as #1 airline for 4 out of 5 years, come out on top in JD Power & Associates surveys, and with the Airline Quality Rating Report compiled by the University of Nebraska and Wichita State University, Jet Blue has been rated the #1 airline (including legacy airlines) 3 years in a row based purely on statistics.

now it's true JB is smaller than a lot of airlines, so their numbers may be smaller as well, but pound for pound, they've proven themselves and if I say they're available to you, do it. heck, they don't fly to LAX so I will even fly into LGB just to fly them (although for 6 hours, the tv is nice).

We love Jet Blue for all of the reasons mentioned above! In fact, we are looking to go down to Ft. Lauderdale right after Thanksgiving, and Continental had an awesome fare r/t n/s from Newark for $298 total for the 2 of us (taxes and all), but my hubby ix-nayed that and wanted to wait for Jet Blue to open their fares up; and no, he doesn't care if their fare will be more expensive than that. :) You gotta love the TVs & extra leg room, and their staff is super friendly.

Ditto on all the reasons above. With kids, you cannot beat the tvs. We've had small delays when we've flown them, but nothing major (and they always made up the time in the air). Very nice customer service. The lost (& eneventually found) a piece of our luggage after the 2/14 problem, but hey, Continental lost our luggage once too!

We've alway gotten reasonable fares from EWR to MCO - and I love that you can get the credit on account if fares go down!

I drive from Canada to fly JetBlue out of Buffalo. My favourite airline.

ekball, I flew Jet Blue for the first time last October and loved them and I will be flying them again in May. I received an email from them and they are running a sale for the next 2 days. So you may want to check them out tonight or tomorrow again!

If you have already booked and if the price of your tickets go down, then just call them and they will refund the difference into your Jet Blue account. You then have 1 year to use the credit.
