Evening all.
Let's cut to the chase. I am GRUMPY today. I have been in an awful funk lately. I hate food, I hate exercise, I don't want to deal with the kids, people are bugging me.
I think I need to go back on my Vitamin D and flaxseed oil tomorrow.

I hate being in a rut!!!!!

BTW, if any of you are interested in Scrapbooking we have a Creative Community here on the DIS. We have cooking, interior decorating, general crafts and a scrapbook section. The good thing about scrapbooking is I don't eat when I scrap. I don't want to contaminate my pics and paper!

OK, gonna finish my tea and go to bed. My warm and comfy duvet is calling my name.

Congrats to the Biggest Loser!!! Way to go. I hope to get on that list next week. I've recorded EVERY bite I've put in my mouth today (even that piece of Lindt chocolate truffle). Felt good to enjoy that little treat knowing I was accountable for it. Bedtime soon as I get up around 5am for my furbaby and then the Y before work. I'm going to do my best to get here each day. I need accountability :)

Eveything is tracked, working on my last glass of water, and ADRs made for our weekend trip. Alan went to Sam's Club earlier today and picked up a few things. We had steaks and potatoes for dinner. We were going to have sloppy joes but the hamburger didn't thaw out in time. So we'll have them tomorrow. I made a batch of eggs in a basket and a batch of chocolate chip muffins.

Many of my friends have asked what "eggs in a basket" are. Its a recipe I found on Sparkpeople.

I took a slice of ham and put it in the bottom of a cooking sprayed muffin tin. I put it in a 350 degree oven for 5 minutes. Then I cracked an egg, scrambled it, and added a sprinkle of pepper and poured it on top of the ham. Then added a sprinkle of grated cheese. I did this on the 11 other muffin tins. I put it back in the 350 degree oven for 16 minutes. I had Alan try one and he said it was good. I put them in a tupperware container and put them in the freezer.

I'm getting ready to do my 20 minute Spark video and then get a mile in on the treadmill. Then I'll probably head to bed. I need to finish laundry tomorrow and clean my bathroom. I also need to call Disney and pay off our room reservation.

Good Tuesday morning Team Mickey.

Just wanted to come on and say Hello :flower3: to all my Mickey friends.

Maria I loved your dwarf question so I borrowed it for Team Donald today. Thanks for the great question.

Congrats to all the losers this week especially Lisah

Have a happy and healthy day.

Congrats, Lisa and the rest of the losers! I made the top 10 but will probably be a gainer this week. Just not with it yet! I need to focus today and also plan out a workout schedule that I can do.

Izzie just got up and is still coughing. Need to take her temp and give her some meds! Looks like we will be postponing our tubing trip for another week. Can't have her outside in the cold the way she sounds.

Time to make Ash's lunch!

TTFN :tigger:

SUE - as always, thank you for being our weightkeeper! we all appreciate your hard work!!!

BAMB, i hear you on the rut. it really stinks. i'm having one of those weeks (months). i keep working hard at the weight loss thing, see no results, eat my emotions, see the scale go up, want to throw in the towel, have a moment of clarity, then work hard again. lather, rinse, repeat. :sad2:

i will check out the creative boards. there must be something wrong with my estrogen levels - i actually don't really know what scrapbooking is

hi dona!

************************

lisa seriously?? again!! you are totally rocking this challenge AGAIN! :worship::yay: can't wait to see your shiny reward in the form of the tink medal!

cc is it bad that i'm jealous of all your napping? i'd kill for a little snoozer during the day. i do find though that when i'm exercising on a regular basis i feel better during the day and sleep better at night (when i'm not being woken up by an 8 week old of course)

jude hi!! :wavehello: didn't get a chance to welcome you on here yet! nice to see you :)

good morning my friends. i'm trying to work off my weekend weight gain right now and i'm 1.5 lbs away from where i weighed in on friday :headache: having some doctor issues - i need a prescription for my metformin but my money grubbing endocrinologist is being a huge PITA. going to see my internist today to see if he can give me a couple weeks' worth until i get in to see the endo. the endo is downtown & doesn't take insurance & each appt involves waiting way over an hour and then another hour of him blah blah blahing in the exam room which means to see him i need to pay a sitter, pay tolls to drive down, pay for parking and then pay $275 for the appt. just to get a prescription that he was going to give me anyway! :headache:

on the plus side, this weekend i'm heading to the westchester road runner running store to get some new sneakers! this is one of those places where they make you run around and fit you with the "perfect" shoe. my last sneakers were from there and i loved them

have a wonderful day everyone!:cheer2:

Totally Tuesday QOTD: Must be time for our mandatory exercise question…Do you genuinely enjoy exercise, or do you have any tricks to make it more fun (or both!)?

Maria :upsidedow

i'm starting to like it more. i've found the only way to make running fun is to have a goal. when i run i like to mentally picture myself running a disney race. i like to think about how i'll feel when i cross the finish line. even though i can only go 3 miles right now while i build back my fitness, i think of crossing the WDW marathon finish line and i even get a little choked up! that keeps me going.

i've been enjoying the aerobics classes i go to mon/wed. it's nice to be back and see the ladies that i used to work out with. we joke around during the class. i go with my aunt mary (she lives across the street) and we have fun. kickboxing is always made more fun when you pretend to be punching someone you're not happy with ;)

Good morning all, I am back on Team Mickey!!!:yay: I have been faithfully using My Fitness Pal as my means of tracking. I lost 2lbs.

I do track everything I eat which is the key for me. I had to scale back breakfast and my fat intake. Anytime I am over my "fat", I eat more. It is pretty crazy.

As far as the QOTD.....

I do like exercise, walking the dogs is something I enjoy very much. However I have to GO SLOW from my previous back injury so it ticks me off that I can't just pick up the latest tape and go for it.

My next purchase is going to be an exercise ball and then I am going to start Pilates. I have to start slow and it can frustrating and scary because I don't want to injure my back again.

I actually really love to work out. But.... I mostly love to play racket ball or volleyball. I like to run when I have a race to work towards. If I don't, I hate to run. Weird, huh?:confused3

I started Celexa last week. So things are pretty great for me.:lmao:

Hang in there!

Good morning Team Mickey!!!! Just wanted to say hello and say a big congrats to all your top losers, especially my friend, LISAH!!!! You guys rock!!!

I love your dwarf question too, Maria, and was planning to borrow it next week when I was coaching donald. Better start thinking of some other questions. :rotfl2:

Have a fantastic day Mickeys!!!!

Totally Tuesday QOTD: Must be time for our mandatory exercise question…Do you genuinely enjoy exercise, or do you have any tricks to make it more fun (or both!)?

I can't honestly say that I enjoy it completely. I like how I feel afterward, and I love the differences I'm seeing in my physique now that I'm working out almost daily. But I don't know if I'll ever be someone who looks forward to exercise.

I've been doing strength work using Jillian Michaels' Ripped in 30, and that is hard but rewarding. Even DH is noticing the definition that's emerging! ;) That incorporates cardio, but I also do 30-45 minutes on the bike downstairs, and I really try to push myself on that to maintain a good speed on the fat burn cycle. I watch a show on the DVR while I'm doing that, and that really helps pass the time!

I've never been big on group exercise because I feel like I stick out, but I got over it several months ago to go check out a friend's Zumba class. I have really enjoyed that, but I haven't made it to a class since before the holidays! The schedule of the classes is part of the problem, but I'm hoping to get back into that next week. I bought a ten-class pass to make sure I'd go, and now I need to go! I'm not particularly coordinated or graceful, but I really enjoy the high energy and music in Zumba, and I do think the group environment is good for me.

So I don't LOVE it, but I am always glad I make myself do it!

The wine dinner last night was SO GOOD. Five courses of Spanish food with wine pairings (I was the designated driver, so I just had a taste of each and drank a ton of water). I tracked it all, which was mildly painful, but I still had a few of my weekly points allowance left after I tracked everything. Today is my weigh-in day, and I've been debating going later in the week to let this dinner wear off. That gets inconvenient, though, so I think I'm just going to suck it up and go today. I'm still hopeful that I'll post a small loss this week. I tracked everything, and I worked out every day - the timing of last night's dinner is problematic, but that's life, right?

:cheer2: CONGRATULATIONS :cheer2: to all the Team Mickey & Team Donald losers this week!!

And you know what? Congratulations to all the gainers, too (myself included)! We're still here, we're still reporting in and working our programs, and we're not dropping off because of a gain. We are all awesome. :)

I'm hitting the reset button today!
I finally got a decent nights sleep, thanks to my Transitions CD (glad I kept that from when the kids were babies).

I've had a good breakfast.

The snow is gone from my yard!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm going to load the RV supplies back into the RV now that they are binned up (mice, ergh).

Then I think I'll hit the treadmill or maybe the Wii if it's still hooked up in the kids room.

5 months until our WDW trip. I want to shed some weight!!!!! Time to kick it into high gear!

Good Morning Team Mickey. I too like to exercise (not always the case) but after making some lifestyle changes, i've gotten to where I do enjoy working out. Granted I don't look forward to getting out of my warm bed, but I also am one that likes how I feel after I've worked out.

So far today staying on track. Really hoping to see a loss this week.

QOTD: Nope! Exercise is just not fun for me and I don't know how to make it fun. I wish I were one of those types of people that loved to go to the gym to get all their frustrations out - but the gym frustrates me!

Ok, I have a journal to keep track of my food and exercise. It has Mickey on it - o bonus! Now, to just make some changes in the way I eat and organize my life.....

hey guys, still having a tough time :/ I have managed to stay within my calories, but not go to the gym. I pinched a nerve last week ( I think) and it is causing my terrible neck/lower back part of my head pain :( Usually after a few days of stretching or massage it goes away and it just isn't this time :( It feels like an electric shock going form my neck to the back of my head! Happens like every few seconds! OUCH!

ANY tips about this?
Have you tried a chiropractor? I was 100% totally ANTI chiropractor until I hurt my back about 10 years ago. After dr visits and an MRI that showed nothing the dr suggested I try a chiro. I was absolutely skeptical but in so much pain I would have tried anything. I shuffled into the office, bent over and crying from the pain and an hour later I was able to walk out upright feeling much better. I went for a few weeks and got back to normal. Of course he wanted me to keep coming regularly (they always seem to want that) but I declined. Then several years later when getting ready to move my back started bothering me again and I called him up and again, it was like night and day. I would not hesitate to go to one for a neck or back problem.

Evening all.

 Sounds like my day on Sunday. Just pissed off at the world.

:rolleyes1Geez THAT is where I have been doing wrong--I was looking at the other way around--- I don't scrapbook while I eat! That must be why I never seem to make much progress! ;)

Absolutely! Just sticking around is a huge accomplishment that everyone should be proud of. :cheer2: That dinner sounds yummy.

YOU GO GIRL! :cheer2: You CAN do it! Glad you are feeling better. It is amazing what a good night's sleep can do for us.

:wave2:

Have done my WATP video this morning, had yogurt for breakfast and then after WATP I made a breakfast/snack of some sliced mushrooms sauteed in a small amount of margarine, chopped slice of turkey sausage and some Laughing Cow Light Garlic and Herb cheese. It was amazingly good! I wasn't sure how it would turn out. I made this salad this morning to have for lunch: Hungry Girl's Scoopable Chinese Chicken Salad

Totally Tuesday QOTD: Must be time for our mandatory exercise question…Do you genuinely enjoy exercise, or do you have any tricks to make it more fun (or both!)?
I'm going to be totally honest. I hate it. I hate intentional exercise, always have and can't see that ever changing. I never liked PE-- don't like playing games like softball and volleyball. Don't like running or even walking just for the purpose of exercise and I hate to sweat. Don't care if I am doing it while watching TV, reading a book or listening to music or have half naked buff guys around me, doesn't make me like it anymore. I have tried all sorts of things-- aerobics classes, swimming laps, ice skating, treadmill, ski machine, bike, videos, water aerobics, and other different classes and things both with friends and on my own and I just hate it. And truth be told while I am doing WATP now it is to further my weight loss goals only and I know when I reach my goal I will stop. I know I shouldn't but I really hate it.

I do think there is a certain irony that right now I am using WATP and it is really the only video that I have ever seen that I can do everything in it (so far). To be WALKING for my exercise when a good amount of my weight gain was from being unable to actually walk for so long is something I actually never thought would happen. So far I am doing good with a mile and it isn't hurting my feet or hip too much. I am still getting a good bit of soreness and tired from just this "easy" workout so I figure I need to stick with the slow and steady one mile for now. Hopefully I can move up to the 2 mile next month, maybe. I am definitely using a whole lot of muscles that haven't been used much the last few years. But I know I look like a dancing cow while I am doing it-- I have all the grace of a 3 legged elephant.

I still need to make my meal plans and have to figure out something for dinner tonight. Tuesdays are our difficult night because DH goes out from about 5-7 and since he does most of the cooking we either have to eat very late or I have to cook . Sometimes the the kids will eat on their own and DH and I will eat after he gets home.

Everyone have a great ON PLAN day!:cheer2:
