Hi! I was glad to see that others also plan out their week. I do really well with planning my exercise but not-so-well on planning meals. With 2 kids and a DH and lots of after school and other activities, it's a big challenge for me. I planned to try and work on a weekly menu yesterday but, well...the day just flew by with housework, homework, mending and Sunday dinner prep. I'd like to get on the WW site today and try to work out something but DD has basketball practice from 7 - 8:30PM (site is 30 minutes away) so I might be fooling myself that I'll get it done. If anyone has good dinner planning strategies, please feel free to let me know! (and I'm new so if I've hijacked an earlier discussion, I apologize - I only readthru the last 5 pages!!
Hi Jude! I am not as organized as
Pamela, who plans months at a time

, but we do a week at a time, and shop on Friday night when the stores are less crowded. It is not unusual for us to cook on Sunday for meals throughout the week, if we know it is a really busy one. And, we have also been known to concede we aren't going to be able to cook. The key then is to pick up something (or heat up something) you know isn't a nutritional dealbreaker -- Subway, soup, just not an XL Whopper with a monster serving of fries
So very definitely Sleepy! I usually commute just on Tuesdays, but I had to commute today for a special meeting. It's gross and cold and slick outside, and I was up too late after football - and up too early so I could drop off DD4 and hit the road this morning. I could easily doze off on this desk...
Ah, one of those days...let's just say I'm happy the deepest, darkest days of winter have passed, and we will only see more sunlight
I am feeling like Dopey. I really made Dopey choices this weekend!
Okay, here's a different perspective on Dopey. People who run all three races at WDW marathon weekend (5K, Half and Full Marathon) are called Dopey -- it could just mean you needed a break, but now you are looking at the long haul. When people do that, they strategically decide where and when they are going to push, they don't go full-out all the time. This is smart, and if you go too all-out on weight loss efforts, you might burn out and regret it. See, you actually were being Smarty!
Today I am Happy because I will be leaving for DLR on Friday!

And by this time next week I will have a beautiful, shiny new medal in my hands.
In the excitement of my fall I forgot to mention that I had a big whoosh last week and lost 5.5 pounds! I'm shooting for a maintain this week with all the stress and travelling.

You are so rockin' this Challenge! And I can't believe

is so soon!
I am totally feeling Sleepy today. We had a line of storms come through our area last night predicting possible tornados and since my husband had to unexpectedly work 3rd last night(oh the responsibilities of management) I got to stay up and be the weather watcher. I'm enjoying running and loving my ipod. I need to add some more tunes so it won't become stagnant. I'm trying to come up with more ideas for inspiring running songs, any suggestions?
Tornados are no joke, I don't blame you for being vigilant. My favorite, new music! Ok, I'm pretty partial to a lot of "Glee" stuff (waiting for the MJ tribute, which should definitely produce some new songs to add!), I also like the Olympic Fanfare, St. Elmo's Fire, and anything by Sammy Hagar (or Van Hagar) for inspiration.
QOTD -- i guess i'm feeling more like Bashful today -- anti-social just wanting to be a hermit, i'm even avoiding replying to emails, what is up with this? though I was tempted to piggy-back on the Dopey claim, as i was a bit Dopey too this past week!
Some days you just want to be alone. I have them. Nothing wrong with that
Great Attitude! I am losing a pound a week and I have to keep telling myself that is the best thing for me. Sure would like it to be at least 2 but slow and steady wins the race.
You are doing it just right! You are going to be so pleased, because it will last, and not just come right back.
Here is a link to earlier in the thread when I posted my meal plans:
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=43691441&postcount=645 We are just now at the end of that plan and I have 2 meals planned for this week and want to sit down and make a plan for the next month.
I think this is worth taking notice of -- what a great help to have this guide!
I would say I am feeling a bit of Happy and a bit of Doc today. I was definitely Grumpy yesterday but feeling much better and Happy today. I have to go and be intelligent and thoughtful like Doc this afternoon because at 2 I meet with DD16's guidance counselor to work out her classes for next year. I swear I am not a helicopter mom! I am pretty sure my mother never had any input into my schedule but DD's school sends a letter and email to every parent asking them to schedule a time to come in. They are very big on parent involvement. Then I am taking DD11 to see my gyno to discuss her cramping problems and see if there are any solutions, short of the pill. Since it is so bad that it is affecting her ability to function for several days out of the month we need to do something.
Poor dd! Sounds like you are an involved and working hard to make sure your dds get what they need -- no helicopter there!
Just Another Magic Monday QOTD: Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, Its Off to Lose Weight We Go! Happy, Grumpy, Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Sleepy, and Sneezy which Dwarf are you feeling like today and why?
I am feeling sleepy right now. My body just doesn't want to get moving. We are working on school work right now... once that is done I will do my workout and maybe that will help perk me up.
Exercise always gives me more energy

Don't be too discouraged, sometimes it takes awhile for the scale to catch up with our actions
QOTD: I'm feeling Sleepy.. Well, not so much sleepy but unmotivated/blah feeling. I tossed and turned most of the night. I don't think I fell asleep til around 5am. Then I woke up really late.
It's not wonder you weren't feeling your best. When you don't get a good night's rest, it's hard.

Sounds like you had a good plan for your day, though.
I am definitely Sleepy. I woke up when the 3rd alarm went off at 8:15 AM and by 9:15 I was asleep again. I didn't wake up until 1:15 PM.
I'm glad you are getting some medical advice, we never know what might be going on with our bodies
I did shovel for about 10 minutes today. I was exhausted after that. I am truly Sleep today.

Love this question
Maria! I couldn't believe I needed a 4 hour nap after sleeping about 11 hours.

I left a message with my doctor's secretary just in case, but I'm guessing it had more to do with being out all day yesterday, which included 4 hours in the car.
Shoveling is hard work! It stresses you in ways you don't even realize.
Maria
