Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

Made it to the gym this morning for spin, and boy was it a butt kicker! She must have heard I joined this challenge!

Today totaled 6 trips to the gym this week total! Some work outs just an hour, some 90 minutes!

I stayed under my calories every day but Monday.

I weighed in, but the scale at my gym was off, and wouldn't seem to balance evenly. When I got on despite knowing it was off, it said I was 2lbs heavier than last week :headache:

I had that my first week--worked out every day, ate way better than I had, and scale was showing gain every day:eek: We have to trust that this will pay off, right???:thumbsup2

I weighed myself on my wii fitt when I got home and it said I was down 2 since last week, which makes more sense than a gain, seeing as I cut out 500 cals per day and worked out 6 times!

Mentally it bummed me out..even though I know my clothing fits better. I hate that stupid number!

Anywho, I'm proud of myself for making it to the gym that many days and I feel great..and sore lol!

Down is down, hang in there!!! You are doing great work!!! And YAY that clothes are feeling better on you!!!

I never wear my wedding rings, no reason just not a jewelry gal. Today I slipped them on and they were lose! I am only down 3 pounds but 8 pounds from my high and it really makes a difference.

Woo hoo!!!!!! WTG!!!

We had a rough week here. Very busy and a night at Children's Hospital ( she is fine, now) So I only made it to the gym once. But I stayed on plan with my eating!!

Glad your little one is ok now and WTG on staying OP through it all, that is gigantic!:thumbsup2

Evening all. I'm a bit disappointed that the scale doesn't seem to be moving and I'm tracking, working out, drinking my water. UGH!

I'm going to get up and go to Zumba or muscle pump at the Y in the am. I typically work out every day but Sunday. I have my granddaughter birthday party tomorrow also (she's three) and then my daughter and I are going to a Bridal show on Sunday (she got engaged earlier in December). Going to do my best to keep on track and really hoping to see the scale move in the right direction.

I feel you--like I said, happened first week of the challenge for me, major downer.:confused3 BUT find a NSV--are your clothes feeling better? Are you feeling a little stronger? :goodvibes

:yay: What a great feeling when those pants feel start to feel comfortable.

Amen, Sister!!!!

Birthday and Bridal show? Just remember one thing-- CAKE IS THE DEVIL!!!

This made me spit my coffee out:surfweb::rotfl:

I am so happy that I found this group!

Glad you found us!!!!! :goodvibes

5. Oh ya..... Jillian Michaels lies! (30 day shred). When she says a couple more.... she really means 52, not two! ba, ha, ha!

:rotfl:She is devilish, "we're almost there" "then this is IT for workout one" it's all lies.... I took this past week off of Jillian--there is something (ok a LOT) about Level 2 that scares me:scared1: Plus I started my HM training on the TM this week, so that justified it in my brain. But I have to get back to it at least a few days a week...thank you for inspiring me to give it a go again today....

Just reporting in...

4M + 4M + 4M + 11M + no candy at work = manicure! :yay:

I love your math!!!! Congratulations!!!!

Plans for the morning include getting up, getting checked out, and heading to the cemetary to visit Josh and Maddie's (my late husband and 2 year old daughter's) resting place. Its a bit out of the way but I told Alan that was the only reason I wanted to go with him to begin with. Plus, its been a year since I've been out there. The anniversary of their death is in 12 days and I know going to visit will help me to get through the next few weeks. The days leading up to the anniversary tend to be the hardest. The day of I'll actually be in Daytona Beach with Alan relaxing and just trying to take some time for myself.

I know you are on your way back to FL now, not sure how I missed this post...just wanted to send you , I am glad you are honoring your feelings and health to take care of you right now.

So yesterday, My oldest Corinne (13) gave me something major to think about in this weight loss journey I've started on.....

Quite a special young lady you have there:)

Good morning fellow losers and maintainers :flower3:

These threads are flying, so I'm not even going to attempt to keep up with them and all the weigh-ins that have been coming in.

I have no idea how you do it, but thank you, thank you, thank you!

And look at you, Gretchen! You look great and HAPPY!!! Thank you for sharing your adventure with us, so cool!!!!

Jumping on really quick to say morning!!

Busy day today, we are purging books. DH and DS15 are having a really hard time letting go of paper books. We made 3 piles: donate, keep, check for availability on Kindle. We are keeping the paper copies for the kindle pile until we can buy the book on kindle. We've emptied 5 boxes out of the basement!!!
We are off to a grand start of our plan to unload the house by 1/2!
Today we finish books and start tackling toys. The boys are getting older and really need to scale back the amount of toys they have.

Need to do this. NEED to do this!!!

The upside is that I've been making myself find positive things to say about myself when I'm trying on new clothes, whether the girls are with me or not. I've started blaming the clothes and not myself when they don't fit right. :lmao: I've also taken to occasionally standing in front of the bathroom mirror buck naked (the horror!!) and finding one good thing to say about my reflection that has nothing to do with eyes or hair. ;)

Thanks for posting this! I feel like having healthy girls is just as important as having a healthy me, and the healthy me is where that starts.

I have ds's, but am conscious of the same thing for them--you are so wise to be so aware of this for your dd's!!!!!! It's not only a good lesson to teach them, but a good lesson to teach us to love ourselves, too:lovestruc

QOTD in a few minutes!

Good Monday morning everyone! I didn't make the best choices this weekend so I know I am going to workout hard this week. One of my best friends live in Chicago and when I lived there, we had a tradition of ordering Chinese and watching the Golden Globes. Well, I still ordered Chinese and we texted through the awards show. Funny thing was...I felt sick after I ate it. Not like anything was bad in the food, maybe because I have really been watching what I eat and my body didn't like it! I think it is going to be a long time before I order Chinese again! :thumbsup2 Just a silly story about myself that I wanted to share.

Anyway, I am going to try to answer the QOTD this week so it will keep more on track to check in with our wonderful team. So, the QOTD yesterday...I absolutely love, love We Found Love by Rihanna, Moves Like Jagger by Adam Levine. I put those at the end of my playlist so when I feel like giving up, those songs come on and I try to power through

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!:goodvibes

Bellebookworm YOu look great in your costume. How long are you going to be there? I won't be down until Aug 18th. You will probably be gone by then. Have fun. /QUOTE]

I will be leaving on May 11th unless I extend, which I would like to do.

Hey Mickeys you're so fine! :smickey:

I heard this song at Downtown Disney the other night and thought of you guys!

Gretchen, I'm loving your updates and all your pictures. :cool2: Disney costuming is traditionally kind of wacky. It looks comfortable. Be sure you get the most comfortable shoes, even if they are not the most attractive, I still remember I wore pumps my first day and it was a big, big mistake. Thanks for sharing! :flower3:

It could be a lot worse. If you are friends with me on Facebook (which I think you are) my roommates and I took pictures of all of our costumes.

I'm off today, so I am sending this out much earlier:thumbsup2

QOTD #1 Monday, January 16: Today, many people are off of work and school to honor Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday. He left such an impact on the US and the world. Did you help someone today? Make someone's life a little better, if only for a few minutes?

QOTD #2 Monday, January 16
: Today in 1994,
a new sports tradition at Walt Disney World begins on this cold morning when approximately 12,000 runners from around the world line up for the very first annual Walt Disney World Marathon. What are you doing today to MOVE????

Have a great Monday!!

QOTD#@
30 day shred. It's all I have time for. Kids home, basketball games......

Well, I had a pretty good week. Not a bad Saturday, doing good on Sunday.... and then last night! :scared1:

Settled in with the family to watch some movies... they popped popcorn. Okay, so I'll go over a little. And then I ate tons of popcorn. It tasted soooo good. That was too bad.

And then, my DD wanted some ice cream. She has just received her unrestricted license. So we said. Drive into town and get some. She was sooooo excited and couldn't believe she could do that. :cool1: So she grabbed her little brother and headed into town. Of course I had her bring me back some too. I don't even really like ice-cream that much. Why did I do that. She sure had fun though!

So, this morning I am kicking myself in the butt! I really don't have a lot of time to do much today....

Grrrr......

I hope to do better this week!

Take care all and happy Monday!

I completely forgot to mention that I organized everything GF. I guess it needs improvement. :rolleyes1 And a lock! :rotfl:
I know what you need!!! Have you seen the Chex Mix commercial that says you need the "boring chip decoy bag" so that no one can see you are eating chex mix and steal it? You just need decoy bags and boxes of things your family would never touch to put all of your food in! :lmao:
Hi all: quick check-in to say hi and that I'm eating what i want this weekend because today is my birthday:dance3: So yeah, I can have it.

Also went to sell jewelry yesterday and went to 2 places for quotes. A jewelry store which would have taken most of it and a Pawn shop which did not. jewelry store offered $145 if I was in a hurry, and $185 if i waited 2 weeks. Well, i can wait 2 weeks, but lets see what the Pawn shop has to say. Went across the street to the shop and they handed me back most of my stuff and kept a few small pieces for $235. SOLD!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! party:

That is great about selling your jewelry. Friends have been having those sell your gold parties and I am amazed at how much money people are getting. Unfortunately I have mostly costume jewelry that has turned green-- no gold to sell!

One thig that is annoying is that now I no longer have hives on my face, they are on my arms and legs. The cream my doctor gave me seems do nothing. So it's back to the doc. I hope they are open tomorrow.
:scared1: I hope they can get this figured out!
Great job on staying active while out of town. Sounds like you didn't too bad on eating so hopefully you will see a good number on Wed.

Hi everyone! Well, good news! I got my longest long run in today. It was due to be 13 miles, and we followed the local half marathon course, but for the actual race they close the roads down for that and on one part there were no sidewalks so we took a detour and my run ended up being 12 miles. Thats fine by me. The great, fabulous, wonderful thing was: I totally ran the first 6.4 miles straight without stopping! First time ever!
:cheer2: WTG!

MOrning all,

Not feeling great this morning, another headache. I think it is lightening up now though.
Hope it is all gone by now.

We were all on our way to the girls gymnastics practice and Dh and I were discussing my rewards for my weight lost. What we have decided on, is I get $5 for every pounds lost to put on my PayPal card for clothes.
So we were discussing this plan (dh actually wants to do another $5 per pound from his separate account we have for his work expenses) and Corinne asks is she can go shopping with me as I lose the weight. When we asked her why she said, "Because I want to go shopping with you when you are happy to be buying clothes. You are never happy when shopping for yourself".
She has great insight and it is always more fun to have a shopping buddy. Sounds like you have a great reward set up. :cheer2:

I had a bit of a NSV yesterday. I got all dressed up in my business clothes and took a picture. The pictures didn't turn out that great, but I realized that I actually looked slim-ish! Then when I went to costuming later in the day, I found that Disney really does not want you to look attractive at all. The shirt fits pretty well, but the pants are ridiculous. I was a size 20 in pants (normally I'm like a 16) and they assume that if you have a large waist, you must also have a large butt and hips. There is so much extra fabric around my hips and thighs that I can literally pull it like a foot away from my legs. But here's a picture of me in my costume.

:cheer2: for the NSV! I am not sure there is a uniform that has ever been made that looks attractive or fits well, except maybe casino cocktail servers and Hooters! Just think as that extra fabric as a place for air to circulate to keep you cooler.

Oh, wow, you struck such a strong chord for me with this one! My DDs are now 7 and almost 5, and I am so afraid of passing on my poor body image to them. Even as I get thinner and know (in my head) that I look better and better), I'm still so critical of my appearance when I'm doing things like trying on clothes. I don't ever want to see the day when one of my daughters turns around in the dressing room, sighs, and says, "I hate clothes shopping - I look so awful in everything."

Thanks for posting this! I feel like having healthy girls is just as important as having a healthy me, and the healthy me is where that starts.
I have the exact same worries. I have 2 girls ages 11 and 16 that are both at very healthy weights but definitely are at the ages they worry about body image. I try very hard to not use the word "diet". I always refer to my way of eating as "healthy". If they groan and say "Are you starting another diet?" I tell them no, I am just going to focus on eating healthier. They will also ask "Is that on your diet?' and I tell them that everything is fine for me to eat, but somethings are best eaten in moderation. They actually do eat very healthy and have a good understanding of what is healthy and what is best eaten in moderation. I have tried really hard to instill healthy eating habits in them from the beginning, unlike me.

I think our bodies rebel against extra fatty/greasy foods after it gets used to only dealing with more healthy things.

Okay well we left Texas around 9am. We got to Pensacola around 8. I did okay on food this morning and afternoon. Dinner was terrible in the calorie count area. I had 3 pieces of pepperoni and sausage pizza, 4 wings, and 20 ounce bottle of Dr Pepper. Alan is asleep and I'm watching Friends on Nick at Nite.

We'll get up in the morning and finish the 6 hour drive home. I'm assuming we'll be home early afternoon. Probably won't do much but get our bags unpacked, take care of animals, and relax. I'll get back on track Tuesday.

Oh, and I'm totally excited for the new season of Royal Pains to start on Wednesday! I'm going to set the DVR and record them each Wednesday. I need to order season 3 and watch it. Then I'll go back and start watching the new episodes of season 4. It just would feel weird watching this new season without watching last season.

Hope everyone has a great Monday! I need to get to sleep..

Don't worry about what you ate. Just concern yourself with what you will eat today. I think we all are doing fabulously. You seriously have me wanting to watch Royal Pains. The shows I love to watch are all the Real Housewives, Rescue Me, Breaking Bad, and Shameless. Oh, and Dance Moms.

MOrning all,

Not feeling great this morning, another headache. I think it is lightening up now though. Got up and watched Downton Abbey and a few other recorded things. Watching a Christmas movie I recorded and never got to watch. Busy day here: Ash has basketball in 45 minutes, Izzie and I will go grocery shopping while that's going on. Then Ash is having her BFF over. I then have to go to work at 4 until a little after 7.

Had a healthy meal protein shake for breakfast and now I'm going to fix myself a cup of tea to take with me. I will have my big meal at lunch today and try and squeeze in a workout sometime this afternoon. Then I will have another shake for supper either before or after work. Going to boost up my protein today and hopefully boost my weight loss!

Need to get moving now!

TTFN :tigger:

Hope your headache is completely gone by the time you read this! And I hope you get a workout in this afternoon as you have planned. What kind of shakes do you drink? I need to incorporate something like that in to my diet! I need more protein.

I will certainly be available to help someone if needed today, and usually am everyday. I did my good deed on Friday when I was waiting to get my blood drawn. The Lab is not known for it's helpful friendly attitude. Instead of service with a smile we get Service with a Snarl. :sad2: An elderly lady told the lady at the desk she was nearly blind and hard of hearing and needed help with the forms. When they got done with everything she told her she needed her to call her ride to come and get her. With the customary snarl she was told there was a phone in the waiting room to use. HELLO??? She just told you she is nearly blind and had to have help with everything-- how do you think she is going to make the call?

I didn't want to be too presumptuous so I watched as she went to the phone, pulled out the card with the number and then just looked helpless and confused. I got up and asked her if she would like help and made the call for her. I really wanted to just smack the receptionist. It took all of 30 seconds to dial the number and let them know she needed to be picked up. You are a medical facility you should be prepared for these types of requests.

I am going to Walmart to get some things with my daughters since they dont' have school. I will probably get my limit for walking while we are there.

I did that too last night popcorn:: That is one of the hardest things for me to give up-- DH makes some kick butt popcorn and I sure love it.

How fun for your DD! :goodvibes

Not a great day for me yesterday as far as staying on plan. I had a few junk snacks that I shouldn't have. :rolleyes1 But I am going to really stay on track this week, and going to start the WATP dvd I got from the library and hope that I can really see a difference at weigh in. I would really like to see more weeks with a 2 lb loss instead of 1 or none. I am going to have to be willing to make some more drastic changes for that to happen though.

Off to take my girls shopping and maybe out to lunch. Not sure what we will end up doing the rest of the day. DD16 has a music lesson at 3:30 so we can't do anything too wild and crazy!

Everyone have a great ON PLAN day!:cheer2:

Not really, Well I guess I did help someone. I have the books stacked by the door to go to the STJ library, the FES library and the Town library. The FES library has gone through a complete overhaul and we have very few books for teens (pre-K - 8th grade school) so DS15 purged a lot of his books to donate to that school. Even though none of my kids go there anymore DS15 has a deep attachment to that building so we help when we can.

Today I am Summiting Mount Washmore, lol. Laundry is on the top floor, washer and dryer are in the basement so I'm treking the stairs a lot.
I also hope to hit the treadmill today, I want to do the Diamond Head run again.

Oh and motivated music. Lately it's been I'm Sexy and I Know It from LOMFAO.

Oh I totally would have been calling up the chain at the hospital on that one!! How Rude!

So, the plan was to get up Saturday morning and hit the gym before going to my Bead making class. Yup, didn't happen. I SWEAR that I will be on the treadmill soon after getting home today.
Have been flossing every day, and attempting to get in enough water - man, many trips to the restrooms......

QOTD: Haven't done anything nice for anybody yet because my house is still asleep. My walking partner grabbed me a couple times on our walk to prevent me from falling--she's done her good deed for the day! So, got our usual 3 mile walk in. It was a bit icy, but no falls. whew

Later I want to do my 3.27 mile run (that's as far as I go!), but am not sure if the temperature will warm up enough to make me feel safe doing it. Will have to see if the Y is open and use their dreadmill. I really hate those things. Kudos to everybody who uses one regularly. :worship:

Had a not so good day Friday. Have been craving naughty foods. Must be getting PMS but with perimenopause it's hard to know where I am! So Friday after weigh in, which showed me the same as the previous Friday--despite Wednesday's peek showing a loss, I gave in and opened a giant Costco bag of peanut M&Ms. Such a bad idea. They are my "crack" and I so know it and just didn't care! I did journal them, but there's no way I am going to look up the calories!!! :rotfl: I'm back on track now, though.

DSs were supposed to have an 8 AM basketball practice, but it must have gotten postponed until noon because of slick roads. I better go accomplish something before everybody gets up. Hmm, scrubbing the sink or reading the paper? Decisions, decisions!

QOTD #1...what a great idea for today! I still have some time left in the day to hopefully make it happen.

QOTD #2...I made it to boot camp this morning and didn't die:lmao: It was alot of floor work with situps, crunches and then we had to swing and pull these giant ropes around. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be when I first saw them!I really enjoyed slamming them down on the ground...guess I had some aggression to get out!:rotfl2:

Yeah! I finally did Just Dance 3 on the Kinect! I did it for about 45 minutes and burned 327 calories. Getting ready to go to work now. Ash's friend is here for another few minutes. I will leave the girls alone for a few minutes while I go to work. Brian will be home around 4:15. 2nd client today canceled as she has the dreaded tummy bug!

Having chicken stir fry with mushrooms and zucchini in a teriyaki sauce. Brian mentioned that it had been awhile so I picked up the stuff this morning. Probably have it over rice or egg noodles.

Need to chug another glass of water now and brush my teeth!

TTFN :tigger:

Wow.. a 3 mile walk and the possibility of a 3.27 mile run! Thats fantastic!

QOTD #1...what a great idea for today! I still have some time left in the day to hopefully make it happen.

Congrats on the Boot Camp. I want to try that rope thing sometime.

Wow! That Just Dance 3 is a calorie burner!

QOTD #1 Monday, January 16: Today, many people are off of work and school to honor Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday. He left such an impact on the US and the world. Did you help someone today? Make someone's life a little better, if only for a few minutes?

One of my coworkers is on a strict budgetary restriction - can now only go out once a week for lunch. Today there was leftover fajitas from a meeting and I made sure he was the first I told!!
QOTD #2 Monday, January 16: Today in 1994, a new sports tradition at Walt Disney World begins on this cold morning when approximately 12,000 runners from around the world line up for the very first annual Walt Disney World Marathon. What are you doing today to MOVE????

When I get home from work, the first thing I will do is change into workout clothes and get on the treadmill. I also have the ipod going at work, so I often find myself doing a little chair dancing while working at the desk.

Well, I didn't do the long run because it was 36 degrees and very windy. BUT I did do my short 1.5 mile loop. The best part is I think I caught my get up and go because now I have some energy! :goodvibes After I read the paper I was such a couch potato. Now I'm going to shower and tackle the scrubbing! Gotta run to the store and get detergent before I can do anymore laundry. Which I have to because the boys have games tomorrow and their dress pants (they gotta wear ties game days) are in the wash. I'm sure they are hoping for a snow day!

Have a great rest of the day!
