My jar sealers came!

I went and picked up jars for a quarter each at the thrift store, bought new lids, came home and washed and sanitized the jars. So far I have a vacuum packed jar of Tzatziki sauce I made the other day and hope it will stay good longer that way. I have 2 heads of lettuce in the fridge that I will wash and cut up this weekend and hope that means less work during the week for great salads!
I met my friend for breakfast at IHOP. I ordered a Rooty Tooty meal-- 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of Turkey Sausage and 2 Grain and Nut Pancakes. No sugary fruit stuff and butter on the side. I knew I wasn't going to eat it all and since I wasn't going home I didn't want a big styrofoam carton to deal with so I brought a lunch bag with ice packs, a small container with a lid and a Ziplock bag. When my food came I put half the eggs, the bacon and one pancake away for later. I ate the rest for breakfast and was very happy! I love those pancakes. When I got home late this afternoon I reheated the rest and had that for lunch. I think it is really important to ask for a box ahead of time and portion out the meal before you start eating. I know when I am with friends and we are all talking I may not notice that I ate the whole thing when I only meant to eat half.
I also took my favorite French Vanilla Coffee creamer in a small container since it is my one big splurge each day and I really didn't want half and half or milk and sugar which is what I would use at the restaurant but don't really like. DD11 was watching me get ready and she said that was very embarrassing to bring my own creamer. NOT with my friends! I had put mine in a little discreet container, my friend brought her whole bottle of Italian Creme flavored creamer and set it in the middle of the table!!

We are both lactose intolerant too so it is much easier if we bring our own. DH said I am turning into his grandma-- with the coffee stuff in my purse (remember the sweet and low "pills" grandmas used to carry before you could get it in the restaurants?) and a ziploc bag to put the leftovers in!
So I hit the ground running (not literally!) with a full belly and did a ton of errands, got my allergy shots, a flu shot, blood drawn, bought a new trash can (I like to live on the edge. . .) and ended the afternoon at
Walmart to get the jar lids, fresh veggies and something for dinner. Ran into an acquaintance near the check out that I haven't seen in a while and we got in line together so we could catch up. As she was getting ready to leave she said "oh, and you look like you have lost a lot of weight". You know what? It really, really NEVER gets old hearing that!!!

I get a little

when someone says something but inside I am going

.
No exciting plans for the weekend other than we have to go to Costco-- we are almost out of meat and that is where DH likes to buy it. Also need a ton of other things so that will probably be a "date" for us. The girls would most likely rather have their fingernails ripped out than go with us to Costco so DH and I will get some time for just us. . . . and the 500 other people at the store on a Saturday.

School is out on MOnday so I need to see what they want to do. They have been working so hard and going full out with school so I suspect the answer will be stay home and have a jammie day to catch up on some TV shows we have recorded. Sounds good to me!
Got to go work on my Costco list before I am too tired to see straight. Everyone have a happy, healthy ON PLAN weekend!
