Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Us too. What did the boys get? jimmy got Sorry, Chess, Monopoly, Scrabble Jr, and Trouble:thumbsup2

Well, we got two versions of Monopoly - BIL called to say that he had bought it on the same day the babysitter came with the Pixar edition. ;) They also got Connect 4 and Harry Potter Clue (which is actually different that regular Clue, as far as not just rooms being renamed, there are wheels and House Points and all sorts of weird stuff. But, it's fun!) Oh, and I forgot that D picked up Guesstures, but we've not tried it yet.

If I had known they were coming this way they could have used our guest room. Harrisburg is only about an hour and 2 minutes from here!

Aw, thanks, but I think they wanted to get to the middle of PA if they could. It's still a heck of drive from there. ;) They stayed where Mom & I stayed in August, after about a 12 hour drive coming FROM their house. Then, they might have to stop in Indianapolis, as Dad's cousin was airlifted to a hospital there (from more north central Indiana) with a heart attack, and probably won't make it - his other organs are shutting down. :sad2: He's not young or anything, but it's still sad.

###########################################
Must go get Buzz, I guess. She said 2:30 or 3:00, so I thought I'd leave at 2:30 and get there for 2:40ish. ;) D & Woody just went sledding. I said I'd bring Buzz over to the sled hill if he wants, but I'm secretly hoping that he won't! :rotfl2:

Bean soup is done, bread is done. Just waiting for the neighbors to get here so we can eat. I got an Itunes gift card for Christmas so I am downloading some songs to the shuffle. Any good recommendations?

Hi girls!

Sounds like everyone is not in the mood to de-decorate. It took me a few days as well. We're finally done with it all.

We've had cabin fever lately, so we headed to the OC to check out our old stoppin' grounds. Wow, things have changed A LOT! :faint: Everyone and their brother has a miniature version of a some kind of dog. And they have them all dressed up or in baby strollers. Seriously, it's ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but I like real dogs, KWIM? Meh. Vent over. ;)

Anyway, I just popped in to say Hi!

Rosie, Hope you're feeling better! :goodvibes

Hi Janet, Jo & CE! :wave2:

Hi Ladies! :grouphug: :grouphug:

I keep saying that I am getting back on here but can't seem to find any time left in the day to get back on the disboards or FB. I hope everyone had a great christmas and a wonderful new year!

I got the best present ever - cold hard cash. I spent it on a new bed and a china hutch.

I somehow survived my mom's and my trip to DW. What's even more amazing is that we have another trip planned for next fall. I think I am going to need lots of therapy before then. :lmao:

We have snow again but not enough for the schools to shut, it is enough however to make our roads dangerous. The main ones are fine as they've gritted them it's the ones by our house! Anyway it's beautifully sunny so D and I went for about a 3 mile walk before hitting the supermarket. He's now watching the cricket but we may go for another walk after lunch :thumbsup2

I didn't get anything more done today, either, Janet. ;)

Good Monday Morning Fockers:goodvibes. The official tempurature is 25 degrees with a Wind Chill of 15. That's about as warm as it is going to get.

It was rough getting Jimmy up for school today. He didn't want to get up, and neither did we. We all just wanted to stay in our nice warm cozy beds.

Back and work and it looks like a paper tornado hit my desk :faint: Jimmy has an OT appointment at 4:45 so I will be leaving early so that I pick him up and take him to the appointment.

Hope everyone has a loverly Monday!:goodvibes

Morning. I'm home sick; Leo gifted me his cold/flu/plague/whatever this is. Can't breathe. I read through... but I'm in a medicated haze, so don't hate me if I missed stuff!

This'll blow your mind: I awoke to 31* this morning! :scared1: A 6ish degree difference between FL and Philly... in January?!?! :sad2:

Ditto that. Leo was not a happy camper; he hates layering.

I'm off to the couch. If I don't check in later, happy Monday!

Feel better V. Lots of rest and fluids!

BTW - Thanks for the Accu V forecast...although my friends weren't very happy with it:laughing:

It should not be that close is temp:eek:

You make me feel lazy. I am playing my team practice later, but still, it's not walking twice for 3 miles. ;)

Yeah, after weeks of getting up at 7:00 when we didn't want them to, Woody threw a fit when I went in this morning.

Yeah, that's not right. It's already 28 here. ;)

Not much up this morning. We got up and got the kids out the door, then I was freezing, so I cuddled up with a blanket on the couch and fell asleep again. Oops. :rotfl: It's the danger of not having anything pressing to do until 12:00 (and the danger of a blanket and the couch, no matter what time it is.) D's heading out to work out now, but since I AM going at noon... Not me!

D wanted to go look at a used car we found online today, but with my drills, I can't. I suggested tomorrow or Wed. since I have nothing going on, but then he thinks he has to go into work after being off the week. I guess he's still officially off today. So, I don't know.

He thinks the tires on the van are pretty much shot, especially now that it has started to snow and so forth, and it's truly probably not worth replacing them at this point if we think we're getting a new (to us, anyway) car anytime soon. Plus, the registration is due in Feb., so it would kind of make sense to do something before we pay that - but I was still really hoping to get tax refund or something before we bought. I don't know. There are a couple of used cars that look appealing to us - I found one with slightly higher miles but is very affordable and still new enough - he found the same car/model year with really, really low miles, but it's at the top of our price range, I think. We'll see.

Oh no, get better and stay warm I understand it's slightly chilly there :rotfl2:

I just booked a week away at Christmas, not sure if I used to DIS when we used to go away with my sister before, but it's a place called center parcs. It has a huge indoor swimming place with slides etc then lots of sports such as tennis, badminton, climbing walls, archery etc etc and a spa where D and I had an ummm interesting mud thing last time, I'm sure I told you about it. He's already requested it again :rotfl2: It was pretty expensive but we won't be having a summer trip so :thumbsup2 We're going to the Elveden Forest one --- www.centerparcs.co.uk

V, hope you feel better.

Everyone, including us, stay warm. I hate this weather! Although next week it's supposed to be back in the 70's where it's supposed to be.

My grandmother wants to go shopping, but she's not in any hurry to be anywhere so I don't know when we'll actually leave. ;)

Happy New Year, yeah I know I'm late, but I like to think I'm fashionably late;)

So crazy with year end at work and the holidays. And I had a fibro flare in the midst of all it:sad2:

So now I am looking forward to finishing up year end reporting over the next month or so. I have done some vacation planning though to help get through the stress. Well May is pretty much planned as that is the tour to Italy, not much for me to do except pack and show up. But September....

I got an email from Jet Blue that they had released the fares for Sept and they had $89 one way fares, which is the cheapest I have seen in a loooong time. Last time I got under $200 was when I took Kelly (and that was Continental). So I grabbed that price. I booked from Sept 8th - 18th. I am working the 8th so it's late flight, but better than getting up the next day for the early morning one.

I think I mentioned that I can get super cheap rates with Marriot because of work. I book the Marriot near Sea World for the 8th, spending the day at on the 9th at Seaworld, (I really fell in love with it last trip). And then (V you here?) 2 nights in Tampa, near Busch Gardens. I'm there the night of 9th and 10th. Spending the 10th at BG and probably some of the 11th too. I found a great deal on a combo ticket for SW, BG and Aquatica on line. It was $109.
95 for 14 days unlimited access to all 3 parks (doesn't expire until 12/31/10). (Will do Aquatica later in the week when at WDW). I have been wanting to try Aquatica and this ticket is perfect why pay nearly $40 for a WDW water park when it was so much cheaper to go to Aquatica. (The 2 park combo ticket was 99.95, so only $10 more to add the 3rd park)

I insist on meeting up with you V while I'm in Tampa. ;)

Well that's it, except I think I will am going to switch to BC from BW when the 7 month window opens up next month.

Hope you all are great and once things calm down I promise to get here more often and maybe finish that mini trip report from Thanksgiving.

Yeah, after weeks of getting up at 7:00 when we didn't want them to, Woody threw a fit when I went in this morning.

Jimmy too:headache:

What are you looking at. I am assuming something with all-wheel drive because of all the snow you get?

Did you get anything?

Happy New Year, yeah I know I'm late, but I like to think I'm fashionably late;)

Hi Mo:hug: Loved the card with the Pugs:goodvibes

I like the sound of that ::yes::

Sounds great. Jimmy loves Sea World. Will have to look into that ticket for our next visit, since we will doing 3 or 4 nights at Universal too:thumbsup2

So did I menetion that Jim's job is offering a medical insurance opt-out? Basically if you have other medical insurance you can drop the insurance with the school district and they will PAY YOU 1/3 of what their cost was. We dropped his insurnace, becasue the insurance through my job is better. We are going to get an extra $250/month:woohoo: That will go very nicely to paying off a few things AND to the Goal 2013 fund;)

Also, we are dropping comcast cable and internet and picking up TV, Internet, Cell phones, and landline through verizon. Going to save us $200/month.

We are really trying to get things paid off and lowered, etc. Keep your fingers crossed :goodvibes

Afternoon.

It's realllllly cold here too.

I have serious cabin fever BUT we have several packages coming in today and now I feel compelled to wait for them because i'll be stuck in tomorrow too if I miss them today. We shall see how it plays out. I'm giving the mailman until 2pm before I decide anything. UPS is another story. Thanks after Christmas sales.

I need to get invitations for our anniversary party. I collected address' and now need to finalize a place for it. I am going to call the spot we got married at. They have reg dinners usually and it's a decent price for really good food. PLUS its 2 blocks from here. I'm thinking we can just stand up in front of the tables and do the mini ceremony and then eat!

I have a list of to-do's for the week and i'll prob finish them today. I really need to find a job, I'm so bored already!

Anywho Happy Monday!

Hello Fockers!

Sorry for the delay in updates.

KAT the pictures of the empty WOD are sad.

V - I’m sorry to hear that Leo was ill.

JO - I have been saying 2010 both ways. You played golf in the snow?

T - Sorry about your sickies too. Yay for your ADRs. So now we need a show called the real dogs of OC???

CE got her mom drunk.

ROSIE was sick. No drunken Spanish for her on NYE.

MEL was headbangin’ the year in.

JANET it sounds like you had an exhausting but fun 1st. Loved the pics.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Sounds like everyone did well over the holiday. I hope those of you who were sick are better.

Doug had a major breakdown last week due to his hand problems. He is very frustrated. The MRI on the 29th was inconclusive too which does not help. He has to go for a PET scan on Wednesday. They are hoping that it will show a clearer picture of where the tumor is now. The MRI is highlighting everything so they can't tell what is tumor or what is radiation damage. I guess the PET will only highlight the tumor. We'll see.

We had a pretty good time at Rockie's during NYE. I ended up sick on the 31st. I was feeling good again around 5PM. The kids' party started at 8:30PM. Wow, the oldest is a major drama child when it comes to parties at her parent's house. Rockie and I just played Idol and Song Star on the PS.

At one point some German boys that were visiting the area and their school dropped in. None of them was under 6'4". I'm dead serious. They were all 17 years old except for a chaperon that was 24. They were very polite and introduced themselves to Rockie and thanked her for having them.

UMm, it was all good until one of the German boys was kissing on the middle daughter. Rockie had a cow. She took the boy, mind you, all 6'4" of him, outside and had a 'chat'. I just tried to keep everybody dancing. That didn't work too well. DRAMA. I hate it.

Everything settled back down and by midnight I was feeling pretty good after opening the 4th bottle of wine for Rockie and me. Most of the crowd left at 1AM. We chatted and watched a movie with the rest of the kids until around 4AM.

I've been not feeling too great since the 1st. I did manage to get the laundry done and the house straitened up.

I go back to work tonight - JOY! I wish I could say I was thrilled the that prospect. You prolly won't hear from me until Thursday due to the lack of internet there now.

A picture from better times. The 'Margarilla' from Rainforest Cafe.
