denise that sounds cool about the parade and if your dd loves it that's great :)

the meal was delicious, honestly they did a fantastic job :thumbsup2 the tomatoes were amazing, because they were cooked twice (once overnight and again stuffed in the chicken) the flavour was so intense, not quite but almost as strong as sundried but at a fraction of the cost. Definitely worth trying as they were so easy :thumbsup2

those tomatoes sound delish !!!:)

Hi, all.

I've been reading along, but can't find energy to quote. :rotfl:

Denise, sounds like a fun day. Rosie, hope you're feeling better, and Jo, sounds delicious! V, sorry that you're not feeling good.

I'm sure there's more - I'm sorry. I am tired, but thankfully not hungover. ;) We all went back to sleep (except the kids, sadly) after waking up about 7:30. Mom & I had done the overnight egg thing, which we ate as brunch around 11:15. It was yummy! Then we watched a couple of movies, now we're having late lunch and watching some football. We did start the beef stew in the crock pot - if it turns out, I'll share the recipe - and so that will be dinner later. Woody has just gone outside to play with the neighbor, and mom & Buzz are playing Big Trouble. I'm thinking nap... :thumbsup2

Have a good afternoon (or evening, Jo!) all! :goodvibes

And they're so so easy ---

• 500g (about 24) of cherry or other baby tomatoes or cut big ones into about 8 bits!
• 2 teaspoons Maldon salt or 1 teaspoon of table salt
• 1/4 teaspoon of sugar
• 1 teaspoon of dried thyme (I used oregano)
• 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Preheat the oven to 220C.

Cut the tomatoes in half and sit them out cut side up in an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with the salt, sugar, thyme and olive oil.

Put them in the oven, and immediately turn it off. Leave the tomatoes in the oven overnight or for a day without opening the door

V I am sorry I missed you were also under the weather !! Fee lbetter:hug::hug:

Well, I'm definitely trying these! But, do tell -what is Maldon salt?

I'm thinking a nap sounds good about now too! Crock pot beef stew sounds like a great idea for a lazy day! We're doing an "hors deourves" dinner while watching movies tonight. Pigs in a blanket, cordon bleau bites, baby lamb chops and stuff like that. We usually do the traditional pork roast, but since the kids had places to be today, we're going to wait until next weekend to do it. Just as well, I'm not feeling the love for making a big dinner tonight

Thought I'd better finally write something so you don't have to nag me anymore ;)

Our first day was pretty uneventful, we got to the airport with tons of time to spare, had nice seats on the plane with no-one behind so we could recline our chairs the whole journey. When you're on the plane for 9.5 hours that is very handy :goodvibes I cried on the plane thanks to UP and Jess somehow managed to get an upper class meal as the air steward felt sorry for her when she didn't like anything on the menu!

There was absolutely no-one at the ME desk and we were quickly put on a bus which left as soon as we sat down. We did however have our first rude CM of the trip, apparently I didn't know how to hold the ME paperwork so he could scan it so he showed me by putting it up against my chest as apparently he couldn't scan it when I held it out to him. It was past midnight our time so I wasn't at my best but I was outraged, fair enough if I wasn't holding the paper work out to him but to tell me off for not having it at the right angle  Anyway I didn't argue and very soon we were off and the GF was the first stop :thumbsup2

We quickly found our room over in Sago Cay and although it was nice we didn't have a good view. We had a view of the convention centre and the trucks unloading. We also had the monorail going past which did make it slightly fun as during the trip there were a few dives for cover when it came past, the curtains were open and we weren't fully dressed :rotfl: However the location was very good as we were very close to GG to fill our mugs, the main building was pretty close and we found a short cut to the bus stop!

Looking one way -

And the other -

We managed to stay awake till about 9pm (2am our time) and even the party going on a few doors away couldn't keep us from sleeping. Oh this was also about the time I realised I hadn't brought the travel insurance documents with us, we had the insurance so it was fine but would have made things tricky if we had needed medical assistance. Thankfully we never needed it :thumbsup2

So in good old Young fashion we were awake ridiculously early. At just after 6am we all ventured out and managed some great shots around the gingerbread house and tree with absolutely no-one else there :) We had also seen on the TV that there had been a problem overnight with the monorail and it wasn't running. As we had an 8am CP ADR we enquired at reception what we should do. No-one seemed to know and kept wanting to direct us upstairs to the monorail even though we kept saying it wasn't working we eventually got told the managers were in a meeting about it and to come back just after 7am. We went to explore the grounds and walked on the beautiful beach between the pool and wedding pavillion, again we were on our own, well except some ducks, and it was gorgeous!

C24.jpg

C27.jpg

Anyway we were told that the monorails would be out for a while and as the boat doesn't start till 8.30am they would give us a taxi voucher. Fine right? Well good job I realised before I left that taxis can only go as far as the TTC and with no monorail or boats we'd be stranded there instead. They didn't know what to do but being the good Disney Mom I told them to take us to the Contemporary and we'd walk from there.

The walking path is so short, honestly T it is, and we were at the MK in plenty of time. The girls had really wanted to try and get chosen to be the family of the day today, I kept telling them we had no chance and now because of this we didn't. There were a few families in the ADR line and 1 family on the left hand side. They so obviously wanted to be chosen, dancing with each other, playing hopscotch etc etc so we just got in the ADR line. 10 minutes later a CM came and escorted the family in, we were so close to riding the train with Mickey :rotfl2:

C32.jpg

Wow this is long winded!!!

We had a lovely CP brekkie, the puffy french toast on the kids section is heavenly (thanks Mo) and the Krispy Kreme doughnut holes were scrum, I had so much sugar on my plate but hey it was like lunch for us so it was fine LOL

C36.jpg

C43.jpg

C51.jpg

Whilst we were eating David said that some guy from Wizard's of Waverly Place was there too. The girls were adament it wasn't and I didn't have a clue LOL After breakfast we headed straight for Splash and rode a few times, getting absolutely soaked before meeting with V and her DS!

002-1.jpg

As we walked to Buzz David spotted the guy from CP being photographed at the rose garden with a CM I know calledGary!!! I got his attention and once he'd finished he came over and chatted. The guy was half of Penn and Teller the magicians and he is indeed in WoWP so the girls had to apologise :lmao: V was pretty impressed when afterwards I told her that Gary was in charge of all celebs that visit!

We did loads of rides with V and Leo before leaving at about 11.30am in search of a
nap :)

C55.jpg

I know it's focused on Jessica's bum but look at those eyes!!!

C53.jpg

And we found this on our return to our room -

C56.jpg

It was filled with crackers, cheese, pretzels, cookies, chips fruit etc!

Sounds Yummy !! Too bad I am the only tomato lover !! Oh that would mean I get them all:rotfl2:
You could do a much smaller quantity and as you turn the oven off straight away the only electric/gas you're using is to heat it up :thumbsup2

Well, I'm definitely trying these! But, do tell -what is Maldon salt?
I have no idea but it's what Nigella's recipe says :rotfl2: Your meal sounds nice, enjoy :goodvibes

All rested we returned to the MK as I needed to ride Space for the first time since the rehab. We had FP's from earlier but just as we were about to board it broke down. Jess was so relieved as she was almost in tears not wanting to ride. We went straight on Buzz with the special FP's they gave us, walked to BTMR to ride that and that was down so we called it a day and went for an early night!

The crowds were much larger than I had expected and the MK was packed even though it was shutting early for MVMCP. Oh also the weather was gorgeous, it was around 80 and we only needed shorts and tees even in the evening :goodvibes

Next day Epcot was calling and we headed, surprise surprise, straight for our favourite TT. We rode 4 times that day each time making silly faces and every time we were on our own, no single riders :yay: The queues were very short today and we had done all of FW by 11am including a ride on sum of all thrills. You have to go and do this it's excellent. We were wimpy to start with and only did a bob sled but got braver as the trip progressed.

We then went off to save Japan for Kim Possible and it was fantastic. Some of the things were very clever. We did France next but even though it was good it wasn't as good as Japan!

At some point we went back to have a swim and returned for our meal at Teppan Edo. To get back to Epcot we caught a bus from MK to the Yacht club to drop off a little pressie to my Mom friend Kay as we hadn't managed to meet. We also looked at the decorations before going to Japan.

The meal here was fantastic as always and my steak was heavenly, wish we had hibachi restaurants here!

Next day was warm so off to BB we went, surprisingly it was emptyish and we did all the rides (except the big 2) loads of times in a row before heading out and playing mini golf. David beat the course record for the day and Ellie had back to back holes in one so they both got certificates :thumbsup2

Kona cafe was dinner that night but they had changed the noodle dish that Ellie had been wanting all year. It now used a peanut sauce and they couldn't change it so she wasn't happy :sad2: The food didn't seem anywhere near as nice as last year either :confused3

The family didn't believe it was only a short walk back to the GF so we had to monorail it :rotfl:

Afternoon sweetie, glad you don't have a sore head :rotfl2: What's the eggy casserole thing?

Ah, very simple and yummy. It has to soak overnight, though. I'll put it in its own post.

I'm thinking a nap sounds good about now too! Crock pot beef stew sounds like a great idea for a lazy day!

I'm hoping so - your dinner sounds lovely, too. The crock pot recipe is from Betty Crocker, and everything we've had from this book has turned out well, so I'm hopeful. ;)

It was past midnight our time so I wasn't at my best but I was outraged, fair enough if I wasn't holding the paper work out to him but to tell me off for not having it at the right angle

That's just stupid. :(

It was filled with crackers, cheese, pretzels, cookies, chips fruit etc!

Well, that was nice. ;) Sounds like a good day. I appear to have deleted the part that made me giggle about you diving away from the monorail. :rotfl: I saw V's tweet about Penn (or was it Teller?) :rotfl2:

I have no idea but it's what Nigella's recipe says :rotfl2:

:lmao:

1 pound sausage, browned
9 eggs
3 slices of bread
1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese
3 cups milk
1 tsp. dry mustard powder
salt & pepper

Make the night before!
Brown the sausage. Cube the bread. Mix it all together in a 9 x 13 casserole dish, cover, and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, heat the oven to 350. (180 C, Jo!) Whilst the oven is preheating, bring the casserole out to the counter. When the oven's ready, bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until it's bubbly all the way through. :thumbsup2 Cut and serve! Yummy!

Oh I cleaned up my siggie :thumbsup2
Noticed that.... ;)

Jo, your girls are SO gorgeous and are getting SO tall!!!!

All rested we returned to the MK as I needed to ride Space for the first time since the rehab. We had FP's from earlier but just as we were about to board it broke down. Jess was so relieved as she was almost in tears not wanting to ride. I hate this ride too, Jess. :thumbsup2
Jo said:

It's the easiest walk. Shame shame shame. :sad2:

1 pound sausage, browned
9 eggs

1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese

Yum! Copied this for later! Thanks CE

Well, had a lovely NYE. Stayed up with the boys watching 100 Best Metal Videos Ever on VH1. LOL
Then the ball drop. Poor Dick Clark. He's obviously had some type of cosmetic surgery since the stroke and he looks even odder now. Poor guy. :confused3
We stayed up until 3 am. Whoo! Tired! But, it was fun.

Got up about 9:30 and made some waffles with strawberries. Had a terribly lazy day and am now making buffalo chicken tenders, rice pilaf and some peas for supper. Gotta get in bed at a decent hour tonight!

Hope you're all well.

Mel:banana:

Loving the trip recap Jo!

Sorry to hear you were sick Rosie.

Hope everybody had a great new year!

I didn't do anything special, just stayed at home and watched the Space channel. They had an It's The End of the Year, wait The End of the World! movie marathon with three disaster flicks on in a row. So that was fun.

I got woken up at 8am this morning by work asking if I could come in 4 hours early for my shift as the day person was sick so I am working a 12 hour shift now (noon-midnight) instead of my typical 8 hours. That is okay though as it is holiday pay and I was feeling a bit guilty about buying the Mario Wii game yesterday. These extra hours more than make up for that. :thumbsup2

Note to self for next year. Get to the GF at 7am! :thumbsup2 It was so crazy when we saw you there.

Happy New Year to everyone. :goodvibes Mitch had inventory, so my grandmother and I watched football until he got home about 9pm. Other than that Mitch installed a new kitchen faucet and drawer pulls. Do we know how to party or what? ;)

Thought I'd better finally write something so you don't have to nag me anymore ;)

Yay! Thanks for the mini-TR Jo!

Jess somehow managed to get an upper class meal as the air steward felt sorry for her when she didn't like anything on the menu!

So THAT's how you do it :rotfl2: Way to go Jess!

That is just horrible behavior! :sad2: Maybe you should have reported him to Mickey Mouse!! I'd have been fuming!

Bummer! I hate when they do that. We ate at Spoodles in 2008 for the first time and I had the BEST fettucine bolengnese I've ever had - and of course Spoodles had closed down by the time we went back this year! :sad2:

We said the same thing about Dick Clark! Such a shame. I can't believe you went to bed at 3am and still got up at 9:30! I think I'd be asleep by now  :rotfl:

Jo, your girls are SO gorgeous and are getting SO tall!!!!

::yes::

No problem! :)

Other than that Mitch installed a new kitchen faucet and drawer pulls. Do we know how to party or what? ;)

Hey, I need a new bathroom faucet, so it sounds good to me! :rotfl: Happy New Year.

This sounds great! I'm printing this recipe out! Thanks.

It's quite yummy. You're welcome!

********************************************************
The beef stew was just OK. It didn't call for potatoes, and so the sauce seemed way more soupy and less "gravy-y" than I anticipated. The flavor was good, but it just wasn't quite what I wanted, you know? Sigh. Still, it was a good thing that was easy, and everyone felt it was good, just not great.

We sent the kids to bed more at a normal time - they were looking just totally wiped out. :rotfl: I'm half paying attention to the Rose Bowl, but mostly just browsing/playing on the computer for now. I think it will be an early to bed night for us, too.:thumbsup2

I think thats a great idea! If i hear anything I'll let you know!

:thumbsup2

Sorry I crapped out for drunken Spanish... I had a nasty headache and I decided to lay down for a while.

Oh good, it wasn't only me!;)

So, whilst I am by no means sober, I allowed my mother entirely too much wine and she is DRUNK. It's kind of fun. She's silly, and very apologetic.

Isn't it fun when we get to see our parents like that :rotfl:

party: Happy 2010 Everyone! party:

You too:goodvibes

Good morning and a very happy new year to you all!

You too:goodvibes

Oh good I'm not the only one who didn't make it! LOL! We had a lousy night here so I went to bed to end it early. Sadly I'm starting the new year with a cold-thing, Leo's or Gramma's I don't know, and pouring rain. And maybe no Sugar Bowl on TV (Fox and Bright House were still fighting as of 10pm last night). But I'm hopeful for the rest of. 2010!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FOCKERS! :grouphug:

Hope you are feeling better!

Sorry have been absent for 2 days !!!Have had an awful stomach Bug !!! Me and the bathroom have been good friends for 2 days !! This morning I changed outta the clothes I collapsed in 2 days ago and put back on my pjs only to notice they were falling off me !! Scale reveled I had lost at least 10# !!!

Glad you are feeling better!:goodvibes

I'll certainly be there!!

We can take the train together:thumbsup2

Do I dare go and read what you all did last night?

Well it didn't take me long to catch up :sad2: you load of wimps you :rotfl2: says me who was in bed by about 11.30pm :rotfl2:

See we were good:rolleyes1

Played golf today, even though the course was covered in snow when you putted the ball ended up bigger as it turned into a snowball I didn't play great and my partner and I did absolute rubbish, this however meant we didn't need to wait 2 hours for the presentation as we knew we hadn't won anything :thumbsup2 always look for the positive right

See, you need to start viseoing these things for us! ::Yes::

Oh I cleaned up my siggie

Noticed that;)

Yes, the Mummers are a Philadelphia tradition - they parade every New Year's Day. It's a really big deal around here. They have Comic brigades, string bands, and Fancy Brigades. Ariel's involved with the Mollywhoppers (not sure if that's spelled right), a comic brigade. The tradition always was that just men were allowed to march, that changed somewhat, but I think there might be some groups that are still only men (maybe the STring Bands). She was supposed to be in the group's clubhouse setting up for their afternoon party, but this morning they decided she'd be a Marshall and actually march in the parade holding the sign. Unfortunately, only the last half of their march was on TV - she got cut out during a commercial break, but says there are photos, so I can't wait to see them. She's really into the whole thing (I prefer to watch in warmth in my house

Great description Denise. Don't watch the comics, but I would have if I had know Ariel was there. Here is a link if anyone wants to check it out http://www.myphl17.com/community/mummers/video/

I'm sure there's more - I'm sorry. I am tired, but thankfully not hungover.

Oh good;)

Thought I'd better finally write something so you don't have to nag me anymore

Great start Jo. Can't wait to read more!

Hope you're all well.

Extra money is always good!

Happy New Year to everyone. :goodvibes Mitch had inventory, so my grandmother and I watched football until he got home about 9pm. Other than that Mitch installed a new kitchen faucet and drawer pulls. Do we know how to party or what? ;)

Oooh, he can install faucets. Can I borrow him;)

Beef stew with no potatoes:confused3

Happy New Year Fockers:hug:

Another busy day here. We had our open house/party today. At one point there were about 40 people here (between adults and kids) Everyone had a ball and now were all exhausted. We had 3 tv's going. One with the Mummers parad (Denis'es explantion above), one with the hockey game:sad2: and one with the Penn State Game. They were playing in apparently the misnamed today, Sunny Florida;)

The kids ran around and Jimmy is ready to pass out. Getting ready to take him up to bed and then heading there my self. Hope everyone's new year started off on a happy note.

Love you all:hug:

Happy 2010!

CE - Glad for no headaches this morning and that you had a good time.

V - Sorry about the sickies! Hope you get better in time for your trip.

Jo - Great pics and recap!

Rosie - Glad to hear your feeling better.

:wave2: Hi Fockers!

The kids and I ended up going to my uncle's for NYE. I couldn't turn my kids down since they really wanted to go. We had a good time though, especially since alcohol was involved. ;) The kids made it to midnight but once that clock struck twelve and the excitement died down they were ready for bed.

We didn't do too much this morning/afternoon. The kids actually slept until almost noon so that is pretty much why. :rotfl:

This evening Lindsey wanted to get her ears pierced and I thought why not and we'll head to the movies afterwards. We got out to the mall and they were closed. Silly mommy! We ended up going to dinner at Bob Evan's and then heading to see The Princess and the Frog. What a great movie! :thumbsup2 We'll have to head out to the mall tomorrow for her ear piercing and she's just DYING to spend her birthday money.

Night Fockers and I hope y'all have a good day tomorrow!

Awww Fell better Rosie!

So sad. I'm sorry you didn't have a better experience at WoD, I know you were so excited to work there. But, you got a CM trip out of it!!

Thats exactly my thoughts, not a total loss there! :)

:thumbsup2

KC & I played that game last night until like 2am. LOL. Don't work too hard!

HI to everyone else I may have missed quoting!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We ended up staying in last night, it was too cold to go out just for one drink. We finished up the rest of our food and watched a few more episodes of Buffy (we are onto the last season now) and played some games on the Wii. We didn't go to bed until prob 3:30.
We did sleep till1pm. Then KC made me brunch. He was very excited. He rarely cooks a whole meal. He made what we dubbed a "Crouque Benedict". Grilled ham and cheese open faced sammie with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. It came out AMAZING! It took him nearly an hour and a half to make it but it came out really good. I almost cried it was so good and he was so adorably proud.
Then we de-christmas-ed the house and cleaned the whole joint up. After that we were too darn tired to cook so we ordered yummy Japanese food (sushi and edamame and katsu don). Now he is gaming and I am about to read (Tempted y PC & Kristen Cast, it's book 6) and pass out.
Happy New Year everyone!!!:grouphug:
