Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Not open for further replies.
That's just stupid. :(
It sure was!!!!

1 pound sausage, browned
9 eggs
3 slices of bread
1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese
3 cups milk
1 tsp. dry mustard powder
salt & pepper

Make the night before!
Brown the sausage. Cube the bread. Mix it all together in a 9 x 13 casserole dish, cover, and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, heat the oven to 350. (180 C, Jo!) Whilst the oven is preheating, bring the casserole out to the counter. When the oven's ready, bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until it's bubbly all the way through. :thumbsup2 Cut and serve! Yummy!
So is that sausage meat or actual sausages? and who's Brenda? :rotfl2:

Jo, your girls are SO gorgeous and are getting SO tall!!!!
Awwww  and 3am :faint: wow!!!

I got woken up at 8am this morning by work asking if I could come in 4 hours early for my shift as the day person was sick so I am working a 12 hour shift now (noon-midnight) instead of my typical 8 hours. That is okay though as it is holiday pay and I was feeling a bit guilty about buying the Mario Wii game yesterday. These extra hours more than make up for that. :thumbsup2
Glad you were happy about it :goodvibes

Note to self for next year. Get to the GF at 7am! :thumbsup2 It was so crazy when we saw you there.
Yep you need to get up early :rotfl2:

So THAT's how you do it :rotfl2: Way to go Jess!
And then she didn't like the upper class meal mich either :rotfl2: The ME CM was bad and if I had been more awake I would have reported him!

:Noticed that;)
:goodvibes

Another busy day here. We had our open house/party today. At one point there were about 40 people here (between adults and kids) Everyone had a ball and now were all exhausted. We had 3 tv's going. One with the Mummers parad (Denis'es explantion above), one with the hockey game:sad2: and one with the Penn State Game. They were playing in apparently the misnamed today, Sunny Florida;)
Wow, I hope people helped out!

The kids and I ended up going to my uncle's for NYE. I couldn't turn my kids down since they really wanted to go. We had a good time though, especially since alcohol was involved. ;) The kids made it to midnight but once that clock struck twelve and the excitement died down they were ready for bed.
Glad you had a good time and hope Linds wasn't too sad about not getting her ears done!

We did sleep till1pm. Then KC made me brunch. He was very excited. He rarely cooks a whole meal. He made what we dubbed a "Crouque Benedict". Grilled ham and cheese open faced sammie with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. It came out AMAZING! It took him nearly an hour and a half to make it but it came out really good. I almost cried it was so good and he was so adorably proud.
Bless him :thumbsup2

All the decorations are down and packed away, thing was that when we moved the sofas back we discovered that naughty Boo had a stash of about a dozen baubles hidden under the sofa, no wonder the tree looked bare :rotfl2: She's not happy as her big toy has been dismantled :rotfl:

This evening Lindsey wanted to get her ears pierced and I thought why not and we'll head to the movies afterwards. We got out to the mall and they were closed. Silly mommy! We ended up going to dinner at Bob Evan's and then heading to see The Princess and the Frog. What a great movie! :thumbsup2 We'll have to head out to the mall tomorrow for her ear piercing and she's just DYING to spend her birthday money.

Sounds like fun!

Then we de-christmas-ed the house and cleaned the whole joint up.

I've got to do that, but have no interest. The funny thing is that I don't usually mind removing the tree and basic decorations, but I HATE when the lights are gone - I love them.

So is that sausage meat or actual sausages? and who's Brenda? :rotfl2:

Oh, sorry - bulk sausage meat. And she's a friend of my mom's - though I meant to type Barbara, but either way... :rotfl:

Aw, poor thing. :rotfl2: My dog is always completely confused that we bring a tree inside in the first place, but at least he doesn't get into it. ;)

**********************************************************
Well, it's snowing right down, but it's not supposed to be TOO bad. However, I'm feeling bad for my parents, who have been debating all week whether to leave today or tomorrow. It looks now by all rights that they should have left yesterday (though I'm glad they didn't.) :( It's supposed to slow down now this afternoon, but get going again by tomorrow morning. I don't know if they'd consider leaving later today and getting at least a little out of the snow here - it's off the coast, which is unusual, and they're not sure how much it will back onto land again tonight, but that does mean that they could get away from it driving west.

The boys have their first practice/basketball game today, and I know Mom wanted to stick around for that (and they've not packed up or anything.) Dad has an appointment on Tuesday, and knowing that, I bought University of Illinois b-ball tickets for him for Christmas for Tuesday, as well (which is also his birthday) and so they need to be home by Monday evening at the latest.

Anyway, I don't know if we'll go ahead with our basketball if the snow keeps up. D will need to snowblow if we have to go.

I couldn't sleep last night, and I have a headache now - when I didn't yesterday after plenty of wine, it hardly seems fair that I have one today after one glass last night.

All right. I think I need to get myself together. Mom very nicely took the dog out, and D's making Buzz some eggs (he makes better eggs, according to the kids) but I need to think about a shower and my own breakfast. Hope you all have a great morning! :grouphug:

We can take the train together:thumbsup2

Definitely! We're lucky, it's easy for us to get to NYC (not that I do it that often, but it's nice to know I CAN):thumbsup2

Great description Denise. Don't watch the comics, but I would have if I had know Ariel was there. Here is a link if anyone wants to check it out http://www.myphl17.com/community/mummers/video/

Thanks!:goodvibes I'm not really a Mummers expert, but I thought I got it right (being from Philly, it's just kind of in your blood I guess). I was so glad when her part was over and I could stop watching :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Happy New Year Fockers:hug:

Another busy day here. We had our open house/party today. At one point there were about 40 people here (between adults and kids) Everyone had a ball and now were all exhausted.

I was thinking about you yesterday, wondering how it was going! Sounds like it was great!! :goodvibes

The kids and I ended up going to my uncle's for NYE. I couldn't turn my kids down since they really wanted to go. We had a good time though, especially since alcohol was involved. ;) The kids made it to midnight but once that clock struck twelve and the excitement died down they were ready for bed.

I'm glad you wound up having a good time - it's nice when things turn out better than you expect :)

This evening Lindsey wanted to get her ears pierced and I thought why not and we'll head to the movies afterwards. We got out to the mall and they were closed. Silly mommy! We ended up going to dinner at Bob Evan's and then heading to see The Princess and the Frog. Aww, she must have been disappointed, but the rest of the evening sounds like it was fun!

That sounds amazing! And so sweet of him

Then we de-christmas-ed the house and cleaned the whole joint up. After that we were too darn tired to cook so we ordered yummy Japanese food (sushi and edamame and katsu don). [/COLOR]

Uggh, we're doing that next weekend - I hate that part! Japanese sounds good!

All the decorations are down and packed away, thing was that when we moved the sofas back we discovered that naughty Boo had a stash of about a dozen baubles hidden under the sofa, no wonder the tree looked bare :rotfl2: She's not happy as her big toy has been dismantled :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl: Ahh, life with Kitten!

------------------------
Our dinner in front the the tv last night was great - lots of really bad for you little bites, but it was so good! We'll get back on the healthy bandwagon on Monday ;) We watched the movie Paranormal Activity - pretty scary actually! Tonight we're going out to dinner and to a concert with a bunch of friends. My brother and his girlfriend are going with us (they live in NJ, so they'll drive here and we'll drive to the restaurant/show). Cathy, my brother's girlfriend, gave him tickets for Christmas and I gave them a gift certificate to the restaurant for the meal. We're looking forward to it. The concert is Barleyjuice, a celtic rock band whom we know and have loved for years. The boys will get to wear their kilts and we'll have a rockin' good time.

Tomorrow, we have a pot luck at a friend's house at 3pm, and then the holidays are over and it's back to reality ;) Particularly for DH who has been off since Christmas eve!:rolleyes1

Aw, poor thing. :rotfl2: My dog is always completely confused that we bring a tree inside in the first place, but at least he doesn't get into it. ;)

Poor things, they don't know what's going on. Our Lilly was so confused when we were decorating and she actually "cried" at one point. I felt so bad for her. Luckily, she doesn't get into anything, although I can't put all my large Christmas figures in my front bay window, because she loves to lay there and look outside and I couldn't take that away from her.

Well, it's snowing right down, but it's not supposed to be TOO bad. However, I'm feeling bad for my parents, who have been debating all week whether to leave today or tomorrow. Good luck to them! I hope it doesn't wind up being too bad!

I couldn't sleep last night, and I have a headache now - when I didn't yesterday after plenty of wine, it hardly seems fair that I have one today after one glass last night.

I hope your headache goes away! Maybe the wine was catching up :sad2: I hate the wine headache - I get them too.

Thanks for all the:hug::hug: they helped !! I am feeling much better !! Which is just as well !! Drama at work !! I posted on my PTR (on the TR board :lmao:) all about it so wont go into it again !! I am now home for a few hours for some well deserved rest !!:thumbsup2 I am actually pretty chipper !!!! all things considered !! Jo can translate if needed:lmao:

Jo Lovely mini TR and how perfect to do it just for us :lovestruc Your girls are getting soooo TALL!!! As for that CM:eek: Glad you got to see V and Leo !!

Loving the food recipes and ideas now !! See I told ya I was better !!

Hope everyones NEWYEAR is going well !! I am just happy that in 34 days I will be in DISNEY:dance3::yay::banana::cool1:

We got out to the mall and they were closed. Silly mommy!

Really? All the malls here were open:confused3

Then we de-christmas-ed the house and cleaned the whole joint up.

I need to to do this too. If we hadn't had company yesterday i would have done it then,

All the decorations are down and packed away, thing was that when we moved the sofas back we discovered that naughty Boo had a stash of about a dozen baubles hidden under the sofa, no wonder the tree looked bare :rotfl2: She's not happy as her big toy has been dismantled :rotfl:

See, you are all making me feel like a slug:sad2:

:rotfl2:at Boo.

I've got to do that, but have no interest. The funny thing is that I don't usually mind removing the tree and basic decorations, but I HATE when the lights are gone - I love them.

Me too and seems so dreary around here once you take them down:sad2:

Oh no. I hope they are able to get back for the game. On flip side I know you'd probably like them to stay:hug:

Definitely! We're lucky, it's easy for us to get to NYC (not that I do it that often, but it's nice to know I CAN):thumbsup2

::yes::

Thanks!:goodvibes I'm not really a Mummers expert, but I thought I got it right (being from Philly, it's just kind of in your blood I guess). I was so glad when her part was over and I could stop watching :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:lmao: We usually watch the String Bands. My neighbor is in Aqua String Band so we have to tell him if they stunk or not:rolleyes1 They were really good this year...they was robbed and finished 12th:sad2:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Good morning all. Jimmy slept until almost 8:30 again:yay: Not much planned for the day. Jim is going to straighten up the basement (it looks like Toys R Us exploded after yesterday:eek:) and I am going to organize and shred important paperwork, exciting no?

We really should take the Christmas decorations down, but Jim has "declared" that we will do that next weekend. Fine...I guess:rolleyes:

Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday.

Sounds great - both activities! Fun! :) I know - D's been home since before Christmas, and it's time for him to go back to work. :rotfl:

I hope your headache goes away! Maybe the wine was catching up :sad2: I hate the wine headache - I get them too.

I think it was that, since I didn't have wine, I had more Diet Pepsi, which then kept me awake, but I was tired, but couldn't sleep... Vicious circle. I think tonight I'll go for a nice moderation of wine and no late caffeine, see if that helps. :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the:hug::hug: they helped !! I am feeling much better !!

I'm glad! :goodvibes

My parents have decided that they will in fact leave this afternoon after the basketball. By tomorrow morning, we're supposed to have possibly 6 more inches of snow and wind gusting to 45, so they should probably get out of here before that happens. Dad says that they can't wait until tomorrow afternoon to leave (when it should be quiet again) and so... :( I will miss them. And, as a bonus, now we're all in kind of full-out "Let's hurry and get ready" mode. We were going to celebrate my dad's birthday tonight, so now we won't be doing that, so we have to give him gifts before basketball. I hadn't come up with much of a plan for lunch - the b-ball is from 12:30 - 2:00. Mom just asked Dad if they were driving themselves to the gym and just taking off, or if they were coming back to the house, but I didn't hear his answer.

D is about done snowblowing, and I did get my shower in, so that's good, at least... ;)

We had been thinking about skiing tomorrow if my parents were gone, but if it's going to be that windy, we won't. Yikes!

All right - I need to figure out the plan. BBL!

Happy new years!

I've been swamped... Playing super Mario bros. Seriously addicted to getting to the last level. I'm working tonight. Did I tell you I got myself a super part time seasonal job at gap kids? I'm loving the discount!

It's -9* outside right now, without wind chill. It's far too early for weather like this. Brrr.

I'm going to attempt to get the Christmas stuff put away before work.

Ce- I'm always looking for a yummy breakfast caserole. Mine never turn out.

I'll go back and catch up! Just wanted to poke in.

Afternoon all! Updating from my phone since KC is working from home. I can't wait till his lap top comes this week, then I can get on the pc on weekends again.

Mellow day so far, I made apple cinn muffins for breakfast and some amaretto coffee. I admit it, it was a box mix. But it made 12 muffins so we will be eating them all weekend.

No real plans today. We need to go to Ikea soon for a new office chair and some game holders (dvd shelves , whatevr) and I could go for some darn meatballs! Maybe we will get there today if KC is game.

Anyways have a great day everyone.

Definitely! We're lucky, it's easy for us to get to NYC (not that I do it that often, but it's nice to know I CAN):thumbsup2
That's just like us with London :rotfl2: Have fun at your concert :goodvibes

I am actually pretty chipper !!!! all things considered !! Jo can translate if needed:lmao:
I'm so pleased  actually I'm chuffed ;):rotfl2:

Good morning all. Jimmy slept until almost 8:30 again:yay:
Wooohoooo and I love the photos of Jimmy asleep :goodvibes

My parents have decided that they will in fact leave this afternoon after the basketball.
 hope they travel safely

Noooooo do tell, how long for? What hours?

The girls have been playing board games all afternoon :faint: I'm not sure if they're ill or not ;):rotfl2: They also wrote some thankyou notes :thumbsup2

I added the leftover moonblushed tomatoes to a pasta sauce for tea, it was good but not as good as stuffing them in chicken breasts :thumbsup2

Cool!

Afternoon all!

Hi!

I added the leftover moonblushed tomatoes to a pasta sauce for tea, it was good but not as good as stuffing them in chicken breasts :thumbsup2

Hmm, just a different flavor?

*****************************************************
Well, we quickly did my dad's b-day presents, made the boys and my dad a quick sandwich, then went to basketball. But, the school was completely locked up. My neighbor is the director of the town b-ball, so we called him. Turns out that the coaches of the little kid teams before us in the gym decided to cancel and the custodian of the school thought EVERYBODY canceled and left. My neighbor is not pleased - they are not supposed to cancel without going through him, for just this reason. It creates confusion.

So, my parents were a little bummed that they didn't get to see the kids play, but we went out for more lunch instead (great for me & D, as we'd not eaten.)

That was fun, then my parents just went on from there.

We got home, and Woody wanted to go to a park. I have no interest, and he wanted our neighbor kid to go, but he can't. Then D was checking weather for tomorrow, and skiing looks pretty brutal with the wind, so now D is considering a night ski tonight instead. I am torn - I was perfectly happy to go with the family tomorrow, but I don't want to go tonight, but if we're not going tomorrow... :rotfl: I don't know.

I'm guessing Buzz will be on the fence, too, so maybe the two of us will stay home and watch a movie, but I'd be THRILLED if D took them both and I could be alone for a while. :rolleyes1 I don't think I'm anti-social, but boy, would I love a few hours to my self after the last week or so! :rotfl2: I would even possibly work on de-decorating, given the chance. ;) We'll see.

Anyway, I may be around a lot tonight, or I may be out and about. Have a good evening, either way!

Happy new years!

You too Jen:goodvibes

Jimmy and I just played Trouble!

How aggravating:headache:. Make sure to let us know when mom and dad are home safely:hug:

We all need that time to ourselves ::yes::

Anyway, I may be around a lot tonight, or I may be out and about. Have a good evening, either way!

I'll check in and out.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We wound up going to Friendly's for dinner and then headed to Wal-Mart. Jimmy listens to book on tape/cd at night and the CD player he was using broke. We tried everything, cleaning it..etc. Nope just ownt' work so he used some of his Christmas money from my mom to buy a new one. Then he had a gift card - his "prize" for selling popcorn. So, he got some new Power Rangers..yeah, he didn't get enough toys from Santa:rolleyes:

We also got a new clock radio for Jim We each have our own and his died. And we got a few staples which saves me a trip to the grocery store tomorrow:thumbsup2

Tomorrow the boys are going to start working on their car for the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby and I am going to the load or two of laundry I have left. I will probably hide in the basement while they work on their car and watch girl movies:thumbsup2

No un-decorating done, I will do that next weekend. Just don't wanna do it!

No un-decorating done, I will do that next weekend. Just don't wanna do it!

I used it as my excuse to stay home, so I have gotten quite a bit done. :rotfl: I undid the tree and got all the knick knacks down. I haven't taken the lights down, nor the tree outside. But most of the rest is done. :thumbsup2 And I did some laundry. :thumbsup2

I don't know if the menfolk in my life got the passes that end at 9:00, or if D paid the $4 more for the one that goes to 3:00 a.m. :lmao: I know they won't stay that late, but don't know if they're quitting at 9:00 or not. My twin mom/tennis friend was up at the same mountain today and said it was already pretty cold and windy at 4:00 when they stopped, so I also don't know if they'll last as long as even 9:00.

CE I am sure it was hard to say goodbye a day early!!!

Jo Thanks for the translation!!!:rotfl2:

Kat the muffins and meatballs sound good to me:thumbsup2

It is full blast winter here !! Disney next month is gonna provide the perfect mid winter break!!! With luck winter will wind down a few weeks after I get back!! I always look for St Paddys day to be the begining of the end !!!:lmao: Of coure we hae had snow in May :scared1:

There was absolutely no-one at the ME desk and we were quickly put on a bus which left as soon as we sat down. We did however have our first rude CM of the trip, apparently I didn't know how to hold the ME paperwork so he could scan it so he showed me by putting it up against my chest as apparently he couldn't scan it when I held it out to him. It was past midnight our time so I wasn't at my best but I was outraged, fair enough if I wasn't holding the paper work out to him but to tell me off for not having it at the right angle  Anyway I didn't argue and very soon we were off and the GF was the first stop :thumbsup2
I think we had the same guy. He was kind of a grumpy jerk.

The walking path is so short, honestly T it is, and we were at the MK in plenty of time.
Ok, I'll admit - it is pretty short. ;)

:thumbsup2

I know it's focused on Jessica's bum but look at those eyes!!!

C53.jpg

C56.jpg

It was filled with crackers, cheese, pretzels, cookies, chips fruit etc!
Nice! :thumbsup2
We then went off to save Japan for Kim Possible and it was fantastic. Some of the things were very clever. We did France next but even though it was good it wasn't as good as Japan!
Ooh! I can't wait to do Japan!

Kona cafe was dinner that The family didn't believe it was only a short walk back to the GF so we had to monorail it :rotfl:

That's because it's NOT! :rotfl2:

I can't believe how much your girls have grown! Jess is so tall and Ellie is just adorable! :cutie:

I used it as my excuse to stay home, so I have gotten quite a bit done. :rotfl: I undid the tree and got all the knick knacks down. I haven't taken the lights down, nor the tree outside. But most of the rest is done. :thumbsup2 And I did some laundry. :thumbsup2

See, I feel like a slug now. I am looking at all the stuff and saying to myself that I should put it away. I can't get to the boxes though, Jim has to get them and he is in the middle of something else.

I don't know if the menfolk in my life got the passes that end at 9:00, or if D paid the $4 more for the one that goes to 3:00 a.m. :lmao: I know they won't stay that late, but don't know if they're quitting at 9:00 or not. What time did they wind up getting home?

Hi T and Rosie

++++++++++++++++

Good afternoon all. Jimmy slept until almost 9:00 today:cheer2: Unfortunately school/work tomorrow so I have a feeling getting him to bed tonight is going to be a problem:sad2:

I have bean soup cooking in the crock pot. Perfect for today where it is 24 (wind chill of 4). Needless to say we arent going anywhere today. My neighbors are leaving for Disney tomorrow (so jealous) so they are going to come here for dinner tonight.

Jim and Jimmy are currently working on their car for the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. I have my neigbor on standby, Jim is using power tools:rotfl:

I have done 3 loads of laundry, cleaned and switched handbags for work. Exciting day, huh? I may have Jim go pull a couple of boxes out so I can start taking the decorations down.

Have a good one everybody:goodvibes

Ok, I'll admit - it is pretty short. ;)
OMG :faint: :rotfl2:

That's because it's NOT! :rotfl2:
You wimp you :rotfl2:

I can't believe how much your girls have grown! Jess is so tall and Ellie is just adorable! :cutie:
Awww thanks :goodvibes

Needless to say we arent going anywhere today. My neighbors are leaving for Disney tomorrow (so jealous) so they are going to come here for dinner tonight.
Have fun :thumbsup2

Wow it's been quiet here

It snowed again today but didn't lay :sad2: We've just had a nice day playing more board games, not sure what's gotten into us lately :rotfl2: and went for a walk. I then forgot to put the pork roast in the oven so we're a bit behind with dinner, I then got all my timings muddled and have had to cut the roast potatoes into smaller bits to cook them quicker :rotfl2:

The girls go back to school tomorrow, getting them to wake up should be interesting

See, I feel like a slug now. I am looking at all the stuff and saying to myself that I should put it away. I can't get to the boxes though, Jim has to get them and he is in the middle of something else.

I just couldn't justify not going with them if I didn't do something, you know? If they had been in the house, I wouldn't have done anything. :rotfl:

What time did they wind up getting home?

Almost 11:00. :faint:

I have bean soup cooking in the crock pot. Perfect for today where it is 24 (wind chill of 4). Needless to say we arent going anywhere today. My neighbors are leaving for Disney tomorrow (so jealous) so they are going to come here for dinner tonight.

Wow, you've got us beat - we're 24 with a wind chill of 14. ;) Sounds yummy!

The boys got 4 new games, so we've been playing them all week, too. :goodvibes

See, today was the first day mine have slept in at all - which means that somehow, tomorrow will still be ugly. :rotfl2: They actually slept til 8:45 this morning - which is really late for them.

*****************************************************
Yeah, so they slept late after their late skiing, D & I slept until about 9:30. We stayed up watching TV until 2:00. :rotfl: I have no idea why - we were just watching 48 Hours (the true crime show, not the movie) for 3 hours. I don't get it. :rotfl2:

My mom called right as I was getting up - they had made it past Harrisburg, PA last night and were doing fine with weather and driving this morning. So, I guess that's good. It's windy here, but we never did get a ton more snow, so it's not too bad. D went and snowblowed what there was, and just as he was about done with that, Buzz got a call for a playdate, so that worked out really well. :thumbsup2 Woody's playing with the neighbor that Buzz isn't so fond of, so that's perfect. D might take those two to the park for a bit now. Buzz is done in about an hour.

After I dropped Buzz at the friend's house, I made a smallish grocery run, so we can eat tonight! :rotfl2: Just hanging about now - I might do a bit more on the undecorating, like doing the kids' little tree and getting the lights off the big one. Or I may take a nap in front of football. :rolleyes1 :lmao: But I'll have to wake up to get Buzz, so... Maybe that's not the best idea. ;)

Hope you're all having a great last day of break!

I hate when I do that:headache:

Here too, not looking forward to the routine starting again! Jimmy is going to be a bear to wake up:eek:

I just couldn't justify not going with them if I didn't do something, you know? If they had been in the house, I wouldn't have done anything. :rotfl:

Well, I had Jim bring some boxe3s up and I undoing the tree. Even if that is all I get done, at least I won't feel like such a slug.

THE WC is actually up to 9:woohoo::sad2:

If I had known they were coming this way they could have used our guest room. Harrisburg is only about an hour and 2 minutes from here!

++++++++++++++++

So the guilt got to me and I started de-decorating. The ornaments and the garland is off the tree. Jimmy's treet is down. Now to do the lights and the big tree and I will feel like I accomplished something:thumbsup2
