Memory Maker pass for families going a different times

Hey all,

In late January I'll be heading to Disney with another family but we'll only be spending about half of the week together and half separately. We both want to get the Memory Maker pass but it seems silly for both of us to buy it just for those off days.

Is there a way we could buy 1 Memory Maker pass and share that would cover both families for that entire week or does each family have to have their own?

Sorry if this an obvious question, I'm still learning quite a bit and oh boy is there a LOT to ingest....

This is what I did with my BIL but your mileage may vary.
One bought memory maker for the trip duration.
On MDE ensure you are all linked as family/friends. Once done there are settings, ensure you are set to see each others photos.
Try out on the first day, take different family pics and ensure you can see both sets on the app. When you decide it is time to “activate” the photos the person who purchased memory maker does so. Person with memory maker downloads whatever they feel like downloading.
Next time families are together the memory maker “owner” signings into the app on the phone of family B. Family B should now be able to download the photos. Make sure person from family A signs out of family Bs phone and everyone signs back into their own apps as soon as finished. Repeat sign in sign out until all photos are downloaded.
Memory maker family can also just download everything and share via text/email etc. The important step is the linking in MDE

Also I would do the math, if you're buying lightning lane multipass, ride photos are included in the price. So unless you intend on doing A LOT of non ride photos, it might be worth-while to just buy a la carte the photos you want.

Yes, make sure all the people are linked on friends/family of whoever buys the MM.

Make sure nobody has duplicate accounts. For example, maybe someone has a magicband they intend to use, but somewhere along the way they set up a new different account (happens more than you’d think lol). Just make sure their current account is their one and only account in MDE for simplicity’s sake. Everyone not a minor needs their own MDE account and it’s linked to you in friends/family in order to ensure ALL photos get linked, whether they take solo pics or group shots.

Very important: MM is not fool proof and the system has glitches where certain photos don’t show up. They are almost always recoverable BUT you will need to contact customer service and provide date/time/location so they can search. I don’t keep track of them all but I do note for most important photos. The whole gang did a fun shoot in front of the castle? Or little Jimbo’s first roller coaster ride pic? It’s hard to remember the exact details days/weeks later after the fact. What I started doing is taking a picture of MagicBand with location in background on my phone in these cases, and if the MM pics don’t show up, my iphone pic provide time, date and location for me to help them search.

You can buy a thumb drive of all the pics (they no longer use CDs). I like having that physical back up and find it easier to share the photos. Was $35 iirc.

No. They will need to use one of their MDE accounts that is linked to you as purchaser of Memory Maker. Best is to make sure everyone over 18yo has their own MDE account that is linked to you. That will ensure every photo shows up in your Memory Maker account, and no pictures get left out.
